MOR TEAM - comprised of best TU Delft students for the Solar Decathlon Europe‘19 competition. As a co-founder of this multidisciplinary team, I dealt with the team management as well as being constantly involved with all stages of design. Towards the end of the project, I took over the construction organisation and management, mediating between more than 80 professional partners from the building industry and our student team. FESTIVAL STAGE DESIGN & FABRICATION - in cooperation with the international student team from Wroclaw University, I have designed and constructed a fibreglass/ cardboard festival stage, within the larger exploration project of investigating the potential of paper in architecture. PLAYGROUND CONSTRUCTION - together with the student team from Chalmers University of Technology, I have constructed a timber playground for a newly build neighbourhood in the outskirts of Göteborg. RESTORATION CAMPAIGN - with the international team of volunteers I have worked on restoration of medieval mining buildings. During this project I was mentored by experienced craftsman about the methods of stone construction. REGIONAL RESTORATION CAMP - on a mission of preserving national heritage and revitalising the surrounding settlement, I have worked on restoration of timber vine cellars that represent the foundation stone of that areas industry.

SELECTED WORKS OVERARCHING STORYLINE OF THIS PORTFOLIO In order to properly present my way of thinking and myself, each project showcased in this portfolio is, aside from the architectural assignment, enhanced with certain kind of academic exploration. This can be anything, from exploring new design methods and principles, to investigation of appropriate views on sustainability in the built environment.

MOR MODULAR OFFICE RENOVATION This project deals with development of the built environment by tackling the problem of under-performing and vacant office buildings. It proposes a modular renovation strategy, introducing the concept of adaptability, to give new life to these old structures.

SDE19 COMPETITION - Solar Decathlon is prestigious international competition pursuing sustainable solutions for future of the built environment. During the period of two years, the competitors are asked to tackle one currently relevant problem and construct a prototype house representing their solution. The houses are then evaluated by the international jury of experienced professionals, according to 10 different topics. Therefore comes the name, decathlon.
THE TEAM - was founded by 8 highly motivated students from the Faculty of Architecture in September 2017. As the project developed and the topics relevance became more clear, this group eventually grew to up to 52 students, involving 20 nationalities and 8 different Faculties within TU Delft. As one of the co-founders, my role in the team involved management of this large group, while also being included in project design, and in the later stage, leading the construction process.
PARTNERS - In order to make our team vision a reality, we have turned towards a building industry where we have found more then 80 professional partners interested in helping our goal. In this process, we have raised over 1 Million Euros worth of donations, in kind and cash, towards building the prototype that demonstrates team’s vision of the future built environment.
ACHIEVEMENTS - We have won a second prize in the competition, while setting a new world record for best overall performing team, being awarded with 9 trophies out of 10 possible categories. Aside from this, we were commended for best and most professional construction process, by the competitions construction and H&S manager.

BRIDGING THE MAAS As my masters thesis, this project explores the potential of including architectural parameters into the optimisation process, as the early stage, design exploration tool.
- 12 -
OPTIMISATION IN ARCHITECTURE The computational optimisation process have been used in the structural design for long time now. Even though it occasionally appears in architectural practice, it has not yet been completely developed and its full potential has not yet been recognised.
COMPLEX BRIDGE DESIGN - The appropriate location for the bridge was recognised on the South-East side of Rotterdam. The proposed crossing represents the bridge with the largest span and overall length in the Rotterdam area, and therefore an important aspect for the cities overall image.
In order to further explore the potential of computational optimisation in architectural design process, and to establish a well performing work-flow, this thesis researches on use of it, on the case study of a complex bridge design.
PARAMETRIC MODEL - The whole process was based on parametric model created in grasshopper, connected with the optimisation platform modeFRONTIER. This allowed use of multiple optimisation objectives, as well as detailed analysis of the effect of geometry changes.
More specifically, the project explores use of quality of space aspect, as second optimisation objective, aside from obvious structural aspects. This way, more complete view on sustainability of such a structure is available, making decision making process more fact based.
During the process, it was confirmed that the project like this wouldn’t be possible without complex parametric model. This is due to complexity of the bridge structure, and the level to which geometry of the bridge and the space quality parameters are intertwined.

Parametric model complexity lies in the great number of parameters that influence each other, and different degrees of influence between them. Width of the upper deck, for example, affects great number of other geometrical features, in order to keep the whole structure stable and as material efficient as possible. Most important of which are shown on the diagram on the left.
User experience and comfort is also affected by the change of the upper deck width. On the diagram to the right, it is shown how the change of only this one geometric parameter influences different user groups.
- 15 -
Larger context was also taken into account when creating the model. As seen below, the bridge in question is an addition to already existent city bridge vocabulary. Therefore, the structural system of the bridge is cable stayed, in order to conform to the language set by other bridges of similar use. Two pylons are differently sized in order to reflect the difference in the program and spirit of two sides of the river. The exact size, shape and inclination was also included in the parametric model, and was one of the variables for the optimisation process.

- 17 -
PORTFOLIO 2019
The parametric model was constructed in Grasshopper and contains the large number of geometric variables that form this bridge. Structural analysis is another part of the model, that allows for automatic sizing of the structural elements whenever a modification to the variables is made. Evaluation elements are also included in the model. One of them keeps track of the amount of each kind of material that is being used in the bridge structure, and form that can evaluate the amount of embodied energy and the cost of the bridge. The other takes care of the space quality aspect of the design, evaluating each alternative as for all user groups individually.

Terrabayt represents a computational tool, intended for the inhabitants of Zaatari refugee camp, that should improve their living conditions. In order to do this, it generates housing typologies that are in line with the needs of its inhabitants, and whose topological and geometrical characteristics are based on traditional Syrian architecture.

IN SYNC WITH BELGRADE Sustainability in the city development plays an important, although almost obscure role. With that in mind, this project explores how a housing project on the outskirts of a large city can be incorporated into a city development plan, so it forms a basis for future-proof and therefore sustainable built environment.
Development along with the city was recognised as a key concept for creating a future-proof built environment.
