Nature Calls
Billed as Singapore’s first garden-in-a-hotel, Parkroyal Collection Marina Bay gives guests a chance to become at one with their ecoinspired surroundings.
At a time when demand for al fresco dining is at its peak, Pan Pacific’s Parkroyal Collection Marina Bay has raised the bar at the former Marina Mandarin hotel, transforming it into a nature-lover’s paradise.
Originally designed by neo-futuristic American architect John Portman, the garden-in-a-hotel has been conceived to incorporate several biophilic features within one of Southeast Asia’s largest indoor atriums. Transporting guests to the treetops, attractions include the Atrium Sky Bridge, an elevated path overlooking the lush forest canopy, and sculptured pavilions inspired by birds’ nests, which provide guests with a chance to become at one with their surroundings.
Staying true to its sustainability principles, Parkroyal Collection Marina’s Bay’s upgraded F&B experiences are another example of how the hotel has sought to bring the outside in. At allday dining restaurant Peppermint, plant-based dishes showcase the very best of hand-harvested produce from the on-site urban farm, with diners able to perch on the terrace and explore the herbs and edible flowers that feature on the farm-tofork menu.
Over at Cantonese restaurant Peach Blossoms, chef Edward Chong elevates traditional dishes through innovative practices, while at Atrium Lounge – a revamped garden oasis – natureinspired afternoon tea is severed by day, before carefully-curated cocktails and an extensive range of whiskeys take centrestage at night.
A leafy escape defined by eco-friendliness, experience and design, both early birds and night owls will feel at home within Singapore’s first garden-in-a-hotel.
