VISUAL COMMUNICATION DESIGN 5 : SOCIAL CAMPAIGN PROJECT

“EARTH HOUR “ This team project objectives is to redesign an existing social campaign project, In this project, we chose to differentiate the target for our “Earth Hour” project, Considering that the existing project has focussed its target to family. This project targetted a big company, middle to high class worker and encouraged them to turn off unnecessary electricity during their work hour and to socialize the earth hour into their lifestyle. The Keywords of our project is saving energy, change, act and electricity. We chose to socialize our project using post it, considering that post it is a familiar object for our target. We used a simple design, because our target is a busy middle to high class worker that has a little time, so we think to fulfill our design with information. The primary color for our campaign is blue and gray chocolate color to fit in for our company target.

X-Banner, Flyer and Brochure Overview

We provide a space for you to participate in sticking your postits. 5. The post-its will form words which are the benefit from participating in Earth Hour.

Designed to hold Monocle’s A5 notebooks and a prized pen, these holders in bridle leather are made by Tokyo-based accessories company Ganzo, which dates back to 1917. The leather is tanned at Ganzo’s factory and then takumi (expert craftsmen) carefully cut, thin, sew and polish the products. This holder has been waxed to last longer and the rough texture becomes smooth through use.

FASHION DESIGN FASHION PROJECT

“EDEN“ The idea of this fashion project is to act as if we are working with a brand or a designer or a clothing line, research their style and create a clothes design that represent the designer style with a new collection. For this project, I chose Yohji Yamamoto, a famous fashion designer from Japan that is famous because of his Avant garde style in designing. Most of his work are using black as primary color. The theme of this project that i made is “eden” which is inspired by a garden of spring flower, i chose this themed because my target is woman, and most of the time woman are being symbolized by woman, and the idea of this project is not using to much color to represemt the flowery themed, but showing the theme by the cutting and the shape of the clothes.

TYPOGRAPHY 2 PROJECT This are some of my work during for the typography 2 subject. “ A FEW BASIC “ Is a team project,in which we are asked to make a typographical book design with an information about basic typographical guide that can be found on the fundamental of typography. The second project is to redesign FONZ zoo annual report, and the last one is to make a newsletter from a movie production house. For this project, i chose Studio Ghibli, a Japanese cartoon movie production house that is well known both in japan and internationally. I used blue as this newsletter prime color because ghibli often use blue color as its identity.. This newsletter consist the information of the creator of studio ghibli, a brief information of their recent and famous cartoon, the timeline of their cartoon production and a poster on 50x70cm paper.

The birth sent FONZ and the Zoo into high gear, ramping up activity in all of the areas where we work. This pinnacle event, I am happy to note, was made possible in good part thanks to FONZ support. FONZ, for example, played a lead role in securing the funds needed to bring the cub’s parents, Tian Tian and Mei Xiang, to the National Zoo. Since then, FONZ has also helped support the research of Zoo scientists who are studying giant pandas here, in breeding centers in China, and in the wild. The knowledge Zoo scientists and their colleagues have amassed allowed them to perform

and then to monitor her behavior and hormones to predict the timing of the cub’s birth. At the same time, working with their Chinese colleagues, Zoo scientists with FONZ support helped to improve the nutrition and veterinary care of pandas.

As you’ll read in the following pages, FONZ, with support of its members, partners, and sponsors, made great strides in our efforts to celebrate, study, and protect wildlife in 2005.

As a result, at the end of 2005 there were more than 140 giant pandas in Chinese zoos and breeding centers, up from 104 in 1998.

The event that most contributed to the year’s exciting tone was the birth of giant panda cub Tai Shan. The result of painstaking husbandry and decades of research, Tai Shan’s birth in July and his public debut in December were celebrations not just of birth but also of the Zoo’s success as one of just a few places outside of China to study and breed giant pandas.

05

They not only educated Zoo visitors about giant pandas—they assisted Zoo scientists by collecting behavioral observations and performed yeoman’s service in conducting roundthe- clock watches before and after the cub’s birth. In fact, one lucky volunteer on the panda pregnancy watch, Susan Hughes, witnessed the cub’s birth! FONZ’s 70 panda volunteers, part of our cadre of some 1,500 dedicated souls, logged thousands of hours of work in 2005.

FONZ also helped the Zoo deal with the surging public demand for visits to see the new panda. Anticipating large crowds, FONZ developed an online system for issuing free tickets for timed entry to see the cub, with special preview days and other times open only to FONZ members. FONZ concessions staff stocked shelves with an exciting array of panda souvenirs, served hungry and thirsty zoogoers, and made every guest’s visit educational and enjoyable.

To generate interest and involvement among members and the public, and to raise funds, FONZ staff launched a panda naming contest that attracted more than 202,000 votes. In October, at a special naming ceremony, we learned that his name was Tai Shan, meaning “Peaceful Mountain.” Another contest, Pennies for Pandas, challenged kids to create their own fund-raising activities for the Giant Panda Conservation Fund.

Tai Shan’s birth highlighted the myriad ways in which FONZ supports the Zoo. It also innovative new exhibits, education initiatives, and advancements in wildlife conservation science. It has been a privilege to serve as FONZ’s President during this exciting and successful year. With new leadership and a line-up of new projects on the way, 2006 looks to be another watershed year, built upon the one that came before it.

Corporate sponsorship for both contests contributed $100,000 to support panda research, and 159 children across the country raised more than $16,000. FONZ also helped the Zoo deal with the surging public demand

“I have zero interest in being the biggest thing right now,” says Mr Gubler, as he takes a break from his photo shoot for coffee and pastries. Perhaps best known for his role as bespecta cled, witty Dr Spencer Reid in the CBS drama Criminal Minds, Mr Gubler seems wholly unlike the stereotypical Hollywood hot shot. Rather, he is polite, unassuming, modest.

If you think ribbons are just the decorative trimming on gifts, think again. In Baku Maeda’s hand, a few well-crafted loops can resemble lions, seals, birds and pandas. The 37-years-old illustrator made the first designs in 2008, based on the vague notion that he could turn a strand of ribbon or tape into a miniature sculpture. “My friends laughed at my early attempts.” Says Maeda. He spent the next six months searching for materials (his preference: acetate) and poring over animal encyclopedias while experimenting at his one room, cubicle sized office in Sap poro, northern Japan. For each of his designs, he works through dozens of versions. In July 2010, Maeda teamed up with three friends to launch Ribbonesia, a website featuring his growing body of work. Now retailers and fashion brands are queuing up to buy and sell his ribbon art. (KH)

Budapest is home to one of the great hotels of the world – the Gresham Palace Four Seasons. The Art Nouveau former apartment building has been restored to its fin-de-siècle glory and is now a city landmark. But it’s a rare example of stylr among a sea of functional modernism.

Hungarian artisan have long prided themselves on their careful craftsmanship. Labor costs remain comparatively cheap by western standards and there are still bargains to be had here. A pair of handmade Vass shoes, in calf leather or suede, starts at €390, while made-tomeasure costs from €590.

The prime stretch of riverfront on the Pest side is occupied by the Sofitel. The intercontinental and the Marriott, all virtually indistinguishable in their blandness, although the Buddha-bar Hotel, in a restored downtown historic palace nearby, promises to spice up the market. On the Buda side, the Lanchid 19, which has won several design awards, offers comfort and modernism. The Racsz Therma Spa, scheduled to open this spring, is built around a 16th century Ottoman hamam.

Investors should look at the comparative lack of mid-range, boutique hotels in downtown. The popularity of new mid market hotels, such as Bo18 in the up and coming District VIII, shows there is a market.

TYPOGRAPHY 3 PROJECT This typography project consist of several work assignments, The first one is to make a poster using typographical and graphic element only without using image. The other project is to make min 3 items with the use of a certain typeface, and the item must be represented by the typefaces that we chose. For this project, i chose didot as my typeface, didot is known for its contrast typeface, and didot is usually used in a high fashion scheme. To represent this typeface, i chose to make a promotional item to promote a biography movie about high class avant garde fashion designer, yohji yamamoto. I used black as prime color because yohji yamamoto is known for using black onto his design, and using didot in the promotional item ( movie poster, cd packaging, and booklet about the movie)
