Letter from our Executive Director to our Donors As a high school student, I always had some anxiety around “report card” time. Once the report card landed in my parents’ post office box, I knew that regardless of the grades I received, they would be supportive and willing to help me improve for the next round of “report card” time. It is now report card time for the Foundation for fiscal year 2012. The Foundation’s goal for 2012 was to award $175,000 for community benefit. Because of our donors—our heroes, we surpassed that goal. I’d like to say our donors “made the honor roll”. Each year I am so impressed with the care and support shown by our faithful supporters. Each has learned the lesson of compassion and caring and shows, again and again, how important it is for our community to have West Holt Medical Services close to home. 2012 Highlights January Dolores Batenhorst Keating Memorial $1,000 Scholarship awarded to Lauren Olberding, Sloan Schneider and Jamie Seger February 2nd Annual Comedy Dinner Theater—Lorraine Lieswald with assistance from Dennis Ryan directed the play “Don’t Tell Mother!” with cast members Janet Kliment, Mikaela Abner, Macy Ennen, Jaci Harmon, Alan Poessnecker, Ben Schumacher and Kim Tielke. Attendance over 450. Net income: $8,199 Commemorative Naming Opportunity $10,000 Patient Room #1—In Memory of Norris Johnson Therapy Services’ Reception—In Honor of Faith Regional Health Services April $500 Scholarship awarded to Abigael Olson, Amanda Rowan and Jodi Schroeder May Therapy Services’ building opens. Building and remodel funded 100% by our donors—our heroes.
Fun in Rural Nebraska Art Contest: Bailey Kraus’ artwork was chosen as the design inspiration for the new Young Nebraskan exam room. This exam room will be remodeled in 2013 with funds from our donors—our heroes. June 5th Annual Summer Social.
