Dear Donors, Thank you for taking time to read the West Holt Medical Services Foundation’s 2013 Annual Report, which highlights the Foundation’s work in providing support to West Holt Medical Services’ patients and their families. I’m pleased to announce that fiscal year 2013 was another success. We hope you find the information in the following pages a testament to our on-going commitment that embodies our values of Compassion, Integrity, Community Involvement, Growth and Quality.

Through the generosity of hospital employees, individuals and businesses in Atkinson and across the country, the Foundation provided thousands of dollars to the Hospital through 488 gifts from 274 individuals and businesses.

Our donors, our volunteers and our staff from both the Hospital and the Foundation work hand-in-hand to make our facility an extraordinary place of treatment and healing.

We are proud of the programs and services the Hospital offers. Advancing and improving the care provided by West Holt Medical Services is possible only because of our heroes, our donors. Please accept our heart-felt thanks.

Cardiac Rehab Wireless Telemetry System Located in the Cardiac Rehabilitation Department Funds were donated by Lisa & Scott Fix, Lura & Butch Goeke and Karen & Paul Seger to purchase a Cardiac Rehab Wireless Telemetry System. Also pictured is Cindy Myers, Cardiac Rehabilitation Director.

Safari Young Nebraskan Exam Room

Cowboy Young Nebraskan Exam Room In 2012, funds were donated by Larry & Lois Poessnecker, Dwain & Nadine Marcellus, Mrs. Laible’s 2012 elementary class, Travis & Erin Tobin and additional funds from the Foundation’s general fund were used to remodel exam rooms in the Medical Clinic which opened in February 2013.

Funds were donated by Larry and Lois Poessnecker, Dr. Louis Walk and Amy Westphalen for the purchase of a digital otoscope and monitor. Providers use this to view the ear canal and can project the image onto the monitor for patients to view.

Cowboy and safari themed exam rooms open for young Nebraskans in West Holt Medical Clinic. ~ 3rd Annual Comedy Dinner Theater—Dennis Ryan directed the play “Let’s Murder Marsha” with cast members Mikaela Abner, Mike Fredrick, Alan Poessnecker, Kim Tielke, Pam Winer, Tana O’Neill and Rusty Kramer.

Attendance over 430.

April

$500 Scholarships awarded to April Everett, Brooke Jarman, Rachele Lyons, Megan Riha and Amelia Shane.

May

Mammography suite opens in Hospital. ~ 1st Annual Festival of Races, 109 runners and walkers for the Dolores Batenhorst Keating Memorial Scholarship Fund.

June

6th Annual Summer Social (golf tournament, cards & dinner) for the Scholarship and Staff Development Fund.

July

Dueling Pianos FUNraiser hosted in partnership with Good Samaritan Society during Hay Days weekend.
