Celebrate Mardi Gras with

Vaud and the Villains Saturday, March 2 / 7:30 p.m. LA-Z-BOY CENTER, MEYER THEATER RESERVED SEATING: $12 If you love the indulgence and insanity of Mardi Gras but can’t make it down to Louisiana, then join us on Saturday, March 2 for one of the most exciting events of the year. Let the good times roll with a pre-party in the atrium at 5 p.m. that will feature yummy food, Mardi Gras cocktails, festive dance, wild décor and jazzy jams by the funky and fun Atlas Jazz. Then, dance your way into the Meyer Theater at 7:30 p.m. for the headline performance by Vaud and the Villains. Then, wrap up your evening with another hour of music, drink and fun back in the atrium! Vaud and the Villains was born out of whimsical dreams, glitter and boa feathers. The big show has an orchestra and cabaret and has evolved over the years from a folk band singing traditional tunes to an originally voiced, genre-bending spectacle commonly described as Americana Noir meets Moulin Rouge. It is seedy and inspiring yet gritty and sublime. Bring your wretched souls, your sins and your dancing feet – they will save you and you will never be the same! *VIP Seating includes balcony seating, munchies and cash bar.

LA-Z-BOY CENTER, MEYER THEATER / GENERAL ADMISSION: $5 ArtsPower’s under-the-sea musical tells the story of Nugget, a minnow, and Fang, a shark, who get along swimmingly — until Nugget’s first day of minnow school. Fang is moping in deep waters when he notices that Nugget and his minnow schoolmates are caught up in some big trouble (and one very big net). Holy mackerel! (One hour in length, recommended for grades K-5) (Please note start time is different from other events.)

LA-Z-BOY CENTER, MEYER THEATER / GENERAL ADMISSION: $5 Amber Brown is having what may be the worst year of her life. She and Justin Daniels were the perfect team: they laughed at each other’s jokes, sat next to each other in class and stayed best friends when Justin’s dad had to move away. Now things are different. Now, Justin’s house has been sold and he is going to Alabama; that is too far from New Jersey to think about. ArtsPower’s uniquely funny and forthright musical portrays a feisty young girl who refuses to let her problems get the better of her. You will laugh and cry with Amber as she learns some valuable lessons about the virtues of patience and the meaning of forgiveness. artspower.org
