Shenandoah
Opening Act: Monroe County’s Own Cory Young
Saturday, October 22 / 7:30 p.m. LA-Z-BOY CENTER, MEYER THEATER RESERVED SEATING: $25 / VIP SEATING: $35* When country music lovers talk about the greatest groups in the genre, Shenandoah is always at the forefront of any discussion. With distinctive vocals and skilled musicianship, the band has recorded nine studio albums, placed 26 singles on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart, and is working on its first studio album in 10 years. Shenandoah is best known for hits such as “Two Dozen Roses,” “Church on Cumberland Road” and “Next to You, Next to Me,” as well as classics such as “I Want to be Loved Like That.” Opening for Shenadoah will be Monroe County native Cory Young. It’s often said that songwriting comes from life experience, and Cory’s music is a perfect example. He grew up spending time between the white sandy beaches of Hawaii and running dirt roads on his 4-wheeler in the rural town of Carleton, Mich. It is this upbringing and nearly a decade in the Nashville music scene that shapes the music he plays today. Best described as country with a little salt and lime, you’ll find a mix of Island Country and Americana. *VIP Seating includes balcony seating, munchies and cash bar. www.shenandoahband.com
