SOUTHEAST & NORTHWEST Y
Monroe County YMCA 2023 SUMMER CAMP GUIDE
COME AS A CAMPER LEAVE AS A FRIEND

Dear Campers and Families,

Thank you for allowing your child to share their summer with the Monroe County Y!

We are confident Summer Camp will be a highlight of your child’s year! Summer Camp is so much more than fun in the sun. At the Y, we provide an exciting and safe community for young people to explore the outdoors, build self-esteem, develop interpersonal skills, make lasting friendships, and more.

Our counselors are wonderful role models, selected based on their experience, attitude, interpersonal skills, and enthusiasm. They genuinely care about the individual development of each camper, and every counselor will serve as a guide to work together as a community throughout the summer. All staff are CPR and First Aid certified and are additionally trained in risk management, child abuse prevention, behavior management, character development, and team building.

Please don’t hesitate to contact our director and/or coordinators directly via email or phone with any questions you have regarding camp. We look forward to working together and embarking on your camper’s summer adventure!

Sincerely,

Your Monroe County YMCA Summer Camp Team

I always get a little nervous leaving my young son with teenage kids every year we do camp, and every time I am quickly proven wrong by the mature, responsible, kind, and amazing young adults that help make this camp happen for these kids and for our family. My son loves coming to camp, his counselors, and making new friends! I ask him, “Do you ever get bored?” and he says, “No way, Mom!”

Very grateful to this camp program and the counselors and staff that make it happen. It was a big summer coming back from the pandemic restrictions and the staff was patient and interactive. Thank you again for a fun summer!

This was a great experience for both our sons. We extended from half-day to full-day because they loved it so much. Super grateful for the staff for making this such a great week! We won’t forget it.

Great first summer camp experience!
