ET YOUR BODY MOVE TO THE MUSIC! Well, or something like that. We were told, that the editors apparently happen to favor some band-members (no name-dropping here!)... and that the editors happen to mock one particular band-member especially. We are absolutely inconsolable to hear that, that was of course never our intention and we love all 4 Tokios equally (except

maybe Hagen whom only Onerva loves *cough*) – nevertheless, we’ve decided to dedicate one whole issue to the Tokio-frontman. For our own peace of mind – and our reader’s. So we sat down and spent months learning all the things that Bill is interested in and that make Bill who he is and that’s what this issue is about. Totally Bill-friendly and those of you who might realize, that there’s quite

the lack of text in this issue compared to the previous ones... well, that’s up to your own interpretation. ;D This time, we’d like to especially wish all Bill fans a lot of fun! And to everyone else: stay tough, we’ll be back to our usual selves by the next issue! *hohoho*

GEEKS AMONG US During Tokio Hotel’s interview with HitzFM at MTV World Stage in Malaysia, Bill had something really special in store for the MONSUN staff when he was asked about the most awesome fan present, he talked about a David Bowie “Labyrinth” action figure...the same action figure he received from the MONSUN team and the Austrian fan club before the Vienna concert. We are of course totally happy that Bill is a just as big geek as we are. :D

Despite former studies that made us believe that alienoids were omnivore we‘re now able to revise: After observing packs of up to 3.5000 individuals we can say for sure that they are living on a rather unbalanced diet. Even though species-appropriate dwelling does exist, the alienoids prefer to sleep outdoors. Adequate protection from the

Sadly their extinction is certain in the long run due to the fact, that this - while sexually reproducing species - holds a female quote of an astounding 91,89%. In the face of an average age of 17 years, this is a particular critical proportion because the avarage alienoid has only just reached sexual maturity and they have to move quickly! SPEAKER‘S CORNER

THE MÄUSCHEN ISSUE

A new issue and with that came a new task for the busy MONSUN readers. We collected all your interesting contributions to give you an overview that is happing in fandom at the moment. Our topic this time: :

Goodbye, Deutschland! IRINA, USA Them being here without their family and close friends might not be such a good idea if they want to get away from the crazy setting. They will have only themselves and each other to rely on. Sure Tom & Bill worked on the album together before, then shared it all with Gustav and Georg, but moving to a different continent is different. I think they just want to surround themselves with people in L.A. To me that is the wrong attention: paparazzi and celebrities. I‘ve seen people move to L.A. before, and get influenced with stupid things.

BIENCHEN, GERMANY I don’t think that the band members will drift apart because of the move. Strictly speaking it wasn’t any different in the past year. Georg and Gustav, were according to available GEMA information, less involved with the creation of „Humanoid“. But nonetheless they are a complete package on stage. By all means this can be very prolific considering they have not found their desired peace in Germany. New influences are an enormous benefit for the creative development. SEITE 38

THE MÄUSCHEN ISSUE

SPEAKER‘S CORNER

LINDA, DÄNEMARK When I first heard about the twins‘ move to L.A., only one thing popped on my mind: PR-stunt. This is the “Berlin-move” all over again! Back then, the reason why they had to move to “Berlin” was because fans were harassing their neighbours and I have no doubt that this is the same. Oh, and of course there‘s that break-in this time. So now they are packing everything, and “moving” to “Los Angeles”, just like they moved to “Berlin”. Only difference is that they never moved to Berlin - they bought the yellow house outside of Hamburg. Back then they pulled the big guns out and let Bild take photos of their moving truck on its way to “Berlin”. It never went to Berlin. So how exactly am I supposed to believe they are actually moving to Los Angeles? I have no doubt this is another PR-stunt, where they are trying to get the fans - wrong choice of words - stalkers to back off and think that they are living in America. Sure they are in America right now to record the next album but owning a house there and not in Hamburg? Call me naive, but I cannot believe that before seeing papers on them owning an actual house there. If it’s true though, I wish them all the best and good luck with the paparazzi .

JEN F, USA What does this move mean? From a positive aspect, it means Bill and Tom will be able to work more closely with their management and producers on new, exciting music. It means more exposure and publicity for the band. It may also mean an improvement in Tom’s English-speaking skills. ;) But could this have a negative impact on the band as well? How does being split in half on two separate continents affect the band’s dynamic? Their relationship? Their music? In this age of technology, perhaps not so much. It’s very easy to conduct meetings via Skype. But technology can only do so much, and cannot compare to face-to-face meetings. Because of this, I cannot see how this move won’t have at least a tiny negative impact on the band, in one way or another. One of the things that attracted me to the band in the first place, and that I’ve always loved about them, is that they are German and live in Germany. So, while I am anticipating the exciting possibilities that being in L.A. will bring to the twins and the band and their future successes, I am looking forward to the day they can return to Germany. What’s that saying? “You can take the boys out of Germany, but you can’t take Germany out of the boys.” Precisely.

SPEAKER‘S CORNER

THE MÄUSCHEN ISSUE

SALTY, USA Where the twins live has never been an issue, and it isn‘t one now. The facts are that they spend almost no time in their home; they are always on the move. Since they were sixteen years old their home has just been a place they use to store the stuff they aren‘t currently dragging around with them. When they went on the last tour they took their whole household, and this isn’t any different. When faced with being in another country, „on the road“ recording for what may be many months, they chose to take all their stuff and be comfortable for a change. On a personal level it will be good for them because LA protects stars far more than Germany does. They won’t need to worry about rapid fan girls camping in their street or breaking into their home to smell their underwear or chasing them down on the freeway in their cars. Anyone who tries that in LA will get their butts spanked all the way back to wherever they came from. They have work to do and need to do it in the best place they can where there are the least distractions. As far as we are concerned, nothing has changed; they will still be relentlessly winging their way around the world to see us. They aren‘t giving up their citizenship and becoming Americans, and Gus and Geo can hop into a plane between gigs anytime Skype or Protools falls short. I don’t see this move making any difference to them that isn’t good for their careers.

LOTTE, GERMANY The main problem in the life of the twins are surely the stalkers or grützel, however you want to name them. The people who have it in for the twins are international though so I’m sure someone like them will pop up in the US as well. However, i don’t know if there are better laws over there to help the twins take actions against intrusive fans. Furthermore they feel constricted by paparazzis in Germany. I can’t comprehend this at all, since there are lot more of them in Los Angeles. On top of that we just saw new staged paparazzo-photos from the twins’ move which have been given to the press. Unfortunately again to the paper with the four letters from the yellow press. They are being exploited by them and management and band play along and pass over private information only to them. Who do they want to communicate with in a believable way by going this route? As a fan you feel pretty fooled and i wonder if they lost the contact to the basis that they don’t see where this is headed.. Unfortunately I don’t have a lot of hope that the band will win more authenticity in the mother country of the Punch and Judy show when it comes to showbiz. SEITE 40

SPEAKER‘S CORNER

NICK, GERMANY If we are being honest we should have anticipated this for a while. They worked a lot on their last album in L.A. back in 2008/2009 and have also commuted between Hamburg and L.A.. I think they will rent a house so that they won’t have to live in hotels for a few months. Nevertheless such a move can lead to them loosing some of their German/European fans because they are just not that close anymore. The way it was, you always had the feeling that they’re a German band which lives close. Now they’re moving to L.A. where all the inaccessable stars live anyway. We also don’t have such a close bond with American stars as we had it with Tokio Hotel and i’m sure it’s the same way for them. I think my biggest fear is that they will completely remove themselves from the German with the next Album. Up to now they always made the effort to translate the songs, but with „Humanoid“ you could distinctly notice which version existed first. And you do have to admit that the Englisch songs sound much more grown-up, emotive and especially more meaningful than the German versions. Nonetheless they care enough to translate them. I hope they will keep on doing so, but the fear stays that they won’t. MALVAGITABELLA, USA I was asked how I feel about the twins moving to L.A. I wish I could answer with a simple „yes, it‘s awesome!“ or „no, I don‘t like them leaving Germany“. Unfortunately, it‘s not that simple for me. I‘m American, so I figured I should feel SOME automatic happiness about this move. The twins will be in MY country and this may mean great things for America. But, in my opinion, it‘s ridiculous to think that way so early in the game. Then there‘s the reason told to the press, that the twins are moving due to increasing “stalker” behavior. While I understand this statement at its base, it confuses me that they would move away from one form of harassment to another unless there were other, more valid reasons for the move. Maybe in the past, they could sneak to L.A. and no one really know where they are or even WHO they are, but once paparazzi understand what’s going on, they will be after them. And while the exposure for them would be great, I don’t want the pressure to get to them simply because of a misinterpretation of their past visits versus now. This, in my opinion, is why Gustav and Georg aren’t coming. At first, I was VERY apprehensive about that whole entire situation, but then I realized that, when it comes to the “fame” side of being a band, the twins have handled a lot of that themselves since the beginning. Gustav and Georg seem to want to focus JUST on the music, which is something I really love and admire about them. Unfortunately, for them to be able to focus just on the music and yet still have a somewhat normal life, SOMEONE had to step up and handle the fame. I believe the twins (or at least Bill) did this willingly, so I’m not pointing this out solely for sympathetic reason . I just believe that, if this is for business and to be seen, Georg and Gustav would probably feel much better staying home. But I can’t help still worrying about the upcoming distance between band members. And I think this is partly why I can’t be completely happy about this move even if I DO see the benefits in it. I don’t want the band to be apart like that. Yes, music can still be made and they can clearly stay friends but it just FEELS wrong to me.

They played some games to get to know each other, had dinner at Manufaktura and even rent the “Cytryna” Cinema to watch the Anniversary Movie made by Qba from the Polish FC. Unfortunately, the film refused to work, so they watched the “Leb die Sekunde” DVD instead which was followed by the birthday cake, more games and more TH DVD watching! :D ffth.fora.pl

Romania hat three parties at the same day but in different cities to celebrate 5 Years of TH as well as the twins’ birthday and they posted „5 Years of Tokio Hotel - TH FC Romania „ stickers everywhere for people to see. One of the parties even had two special Bill and Tom cosplayers and they also did a contest with tricky questions about the band… and a lot of prizes. Fanparties are an amazing opportunity to make new friends, promote the band and to play lots of games like crazy. tokiohotel-fanclub.ro

The Peruvian Fanclub rent the auditorium of the Alexander von Humboldt School in Lima for their biggest party of the year and it was amazing: they had smoke machines, lots of lights on the stage, glowsticks for the fans and they raffled a lot of original TH stuff. The band „Other Note“ played TH songs for the many fans together with Desi from the Fanclub to make the party extra special! There was also a second party in Huancayo on September 1st to celebrate the twins’ birthday where the fans made a wish when they sang “Happy Birthday” for Bill and Tom: to meet Tokio Hotel. There will be a concert in Peru this year so their wish came true!! :D tokiohotelperu.foroactivo.com

The Hungarian Tokio Hotel Team organised a big fanparty called „Welcome to Humanoid Party” in Hungary. It was a very big event featuring the three star guests Mike Mannreall, Per Jacob Blut and Max Buskohl! The party included watching Tokio Hotel DVDs, an autograph session with Mike, Max and Per and of course CAKE. During the Zimmer 483 DVD, when DDM was played, the fans clinked glasses together and sang „Happy Birthday Tokio Hotel”. tokiohotelhungary.gportal.hu

Being true fans, the Russians have also organized parties to celebrate the 5 year anniversary of Durch Den Monsun – all over Russia! Besides the picnics and city walks, fans from Samara for example have organized a club party! Even the band showed up as “special guests” – but “only” as life size cardboard boys! ;) That way, every fan who came to the club, could take a picture with the band. The fans also went to the cinema to watch the new Humanoid City Live DVD! More than one hundred fans joined the party and it was like being at a real show! People were screaming, singing, dancing and making videos and generally behaved like during an original concert. Special guests of the day were two dolls named Tom and Bill, which also arrived to watch the DVD. :D tokiohotelrussia.ru

The „Tokio Hotel Street Team Germany“’s debut on august 14th and 15th in Madgeburg can easily be called a success. Of course the girls couldn’t pass up the chance to throw a party at the Comic Kombinat. All throughout the day the street team and their guests were pampered there with a lot of help, food, drinks and all sorts of extra wishes. Fans came from all over Germany for this, and even all the way from Italy! All party attendees have celebrated together, chatted, danced (limbo and polonaise to Tokio Hotel songs!) and of course they also glowed: after midnight all remaining guests settled down on and in front of the stage with cake to blow out the birthday cake candles. tokiohotel-streetteam.de.vu

This is the fourth year that the Tokio Hotel Official Philippine Street Team and Fan Club are celebrating Gustav, Tom and Bill’s birthdays with the annual Birthday Bash – this year’s party was called “Sizzling September”. The fans started the day with a Filipino game in which fans had to hit the palayok (claypot) filled with Tokio Hotel keychains and pin buttons! While waiting for the food and drinks, several fans sang Tokio Hotel songs. Everyone’s favorite part was snack time and everyone gathered to attack the chocolate fondue fountain and after the late lunch, fans gathered around the cupcake tower — the fanclub’s makeshift birthday cake for the three birthday boys from Tokio Hotel. Before everyone got crazy over the photo booth that was set up for the fans, the Fanclub introduced the special guest – Mr. Jeff Joson, Sales Manager from Universal Philippines. He gave away five cards signed by Tokio Hotel. Everyone went home with their souvenir packages in hand along with prints that were immediately printed from the photo booth. tokiohotelpilipinas.org

DATE MY TOM

THE MÄUSCHEN ISSUE

T

wo days with Tom. Just like that, or something like that, is the great promise from the people who are organizing the Reebok Contest – no wonder fandom is delirious with joy. But what would one actually do with Tom for two whole days?? MONSUN has asked around for you a bit...

What? Yes, sure did Susi win the contest accidentally - our contests are always totally fair!

KIRSCHBLÜTCHEN Watching TV, smoking cigarettes and Tom brings out the Twister game. I’m more of a Romé-playing kind of girl, but Twister isn’t bad either, at least you get close to each other. LAURAROCKSTAR I‘d just like to talk to him and find out if he really is like how he‘s perceived in interviews and i would like to ask him questions coz alot of questions that seem to be asked in interviews these days tend to be the same. KATY I’d have the biggest problem, like every female worldwide, already before the meet-up: „What will I wear??“

_MOZE In the huge kingsize bed of the beautiful 5 star hotel in Tom’s room I would finally be honest with him: I have no clue about sex! But during that day I met someone who might be able to change this... SARAH I would love to be on stage with Tokio Hotel with Bill, Tom, Georg and Gustav as my back up dancers – the music will be playback and since i have no talent whatsoever there won’t be more than Scooter’s “HOW MUCH IS THE FISH”. Of course, i will also be the one to pick the boys’ costumes so they finally will get good stage outfits.

DATE MY TOM

HOTCHERRY I would say „hi“ to Tom and then go and look for Gustav.

LEAH Anything could happen, from fainting over and over again to incessant talking!

T’S I want to see how Tom and Bill mock Geo, and Gustav is watching in silence. Smooth. ;) CELINE Obviously as we‘re both shoe addicts we would go shopping for shoes and show each other our shoe closet.

VERONICA I think I‘d like to challenge him with karaoke and hip-hop choreography. I dance in a hip-hop group in my town, so I‘d like to see what he can do. ;P

BEX First i would pretend to be nice and possibly not mention that i’m only there because of Mäuschen, and will then slowly try to lure him into Billshido. Then i will try to convince him of the advantages that Bill will have from this relationship. And for the rest of the time only one thing can be considered!

RHEA I would play some video games with him since he says is such a big fan aaand also truth or dare! I would give him some dirty-stupid dares and record him, OHHH YES!

NINA I would force him to let me dress him in drag, from top to bottom; tucking, boobs, hip and butt pads, leggings, full make-up, lace-front wig and high heels. Then we would go out and have a hell of a night. I think he would enjoy being a woman for a night

CHERII I‘d just wait for him to get drunk. Drunk people always tell the truth so... I‘d ask him how big he is. ANDJELA I would probably play Twister with Tom in underwear all day. Just kidding. :D

DANIE If i were his type, I would, of course, try to hit on him for two days. PISTOLA I would have him drive ME around on the Autobahn...wft? I squeal better, Chantelle!!

PRINCESS PEACH My absolutely perfect, dreamy and wonderful date with Tom would have the soundtrack of Super Mario. I would greet him the lovely Tomi with “hey Mario-Tom, it’s me, Princess Peach!”. After he has cracked up about this, and after we took the tourbus to the venue, i would play Super Mario Kart with him.

MARCEL You can only do two things with Tom: binge drinking and checking out chicks. ANDREEA I would try to convince him to completely dress up as Bill and record a fan video message pretending he is Bill. JULI CRANBERRY There are only two options: either we would have the funniest day of our lives or we would find each other totally stupid!

TOKIOFREAK I’d love to try to play some instrument during soundcheck – preferably Tom teaches me how to play guitar.

DR. NICS

THE MÄUSCHEN ISSUE

The last column dealing with Tokio Hotel’s music dates back a while and, as it is, it seems that i won’t be able to write about this in the near future....but that doesn’t mean that there is nothing to write about! Although Tokio Hotel are stuck in a phase of songwriting and producing it doesn’t mean that they have vanished into thin air. Most of the time it’s unfortunately only weird rumours that find their way into the yellow press and, let’s be honest, it doesn’t make us fans very happy at all. Thankfully Bill has a new contract with Saturn which means: commercials, photos, and lots of huge billboards! This warms a fan’s heart! Finally positive press and the results of the shootings are certainly a sight! Underarm hairs everywhere! What a rocker image – Bill has evolved from the weak tree fairy to a real man – finally a brand has realised that our dearest has a y-chromosome and has not retouched him so that all his mimicry and his mole are lost so he looks like Barbie! The photos captivated the fandom already before the commercials hit the tv stations. Finally new pictures! Only Bill though – but all the more beautiful. And of course, Bill is back on TV – no cliche has been left out in the three spots and Bill’s ability to make fun of himself pushes his sympathy levels higher. I think that non-fans will primarily be convinced by his behaviour and not his looks. Which is greeeeeat – one bonus point for Tokio Hotel! And well, us fans, we can laugh about him and drool over his manly underarms. Which is even better! ;D Dr. Nics’ conclusion: great deal, great results...well done, Bill!* More of this, please!! * Onerva wants to hereby distance herself from this column…and basically from the whole issue! A Georg issue would be much better!!
