They don’t have to run away to join the circus!

Thanks to 406Cirque, your children don’t have to run away to join the circus.

When you enter the circus center you will see aerial silks, trapezes, unicycles, walking globes, stiltwalking, acting (especially comedy) and juggling all happening at once.

Circus camp is held at Petra Academy, where students train in a state-of-the-art venue with one of the largest theaters in Bozeman and have exclusive access to a private playground of more than 1.5 acres. In the mornings, students will rotate between a variety of classes that are focused on circus technique. In the afternoons, students may choose between creating their own circus act or doing free-choice activities.

There are many entry points into circus: For some students, it is the physical challenge. For others, it is the artistic component. Some appreciate the ensemble opportunities of studying circus, while others gravitate toward solo skills. Whether your child is an introvert or the class clown, they will be able to find a way to express their unique selves at 406Cirque.

Each Friday, students are invited to perform their original acts for their peers, culminating in a show at the end of a three-week session. Families and friends are encouraged to attend.

406Cirque camp is open to students ages 6 to 14. The range of student ages is one of the key pillars of the curriculum because two of the most important benefits of mixed-age learning are to reduce competition and foster mentorship. 406Cirque teaches students to encourage themselves and encourage others. Coaches teach that failure is an important component in any learning process, for failure is the proof that you’re trying something new. Coaches and advanced students model how to give positive feedback to novice students.

In the words of a parent, “406Cirque’s staff have contributed immensely to the growing confidence and maturity of my two kids. I have been blessed to witness them trying new things, working hard to achieve their goals and developing into leaders. All of this was possible thanks to the support of the nurturing, fun, kind and talented coaches. We are blessed to have the wonderful folks of 406Cirque here in Bozeman, guiding our children toward acceptance, hard work, inclusion and generosity.”
