From Our Cover... The Montauk Project is a group of local young musicians who have come together to write music in their hometown of Montauk, New York. The band derives its sound from its surroundings, the ocean, the seasons, the people, the land and the lore. The Montauk Project name carries multiple meanings. Conspiracy theories about the Montauk Project have circulated since the early 1980’s, described as a series of secret government projects conducted at Camp Hero in Montauk for the purpose of developing psychological warfare techniques. The radar at camp hero being the centerpiece of the Montauk Project conspiracy was allegedly used for experimentation in controlling of the human mind and time travel.
Today The Montauk Project can be seen altering minds with their psychedelic jams. The Montauk Project will be one of the many bands performing at this years Montauk Music Festival - May 16th through 19th. The Montauk Sun ~ May 2013 ~ 9
