To be ready for a safe summer, the American Heart Association recommends the following: • Learn CPR. For drowning, the American Heart Association recommends rescue breaths along with compressions. • Remember Life Jackets. Half of all boating deaths could be prevented with their use. • Learn to Swim. Drowning is the second-leading cause of death in children between ages 1 and 4. • Family Safety Plan. It’s important for everyone in the family to be trained in CPR. • Secure the Pool. Install fencing with self-closing gates at least 4 feet high to separate the pool from house and yard. • Teach Safety. Talk about risky behavior such as diving or swimming in unfamiliar water, and alcohol or drug use while in or near water. • Clear Out Pool Toys. Make sure children aren’t tempted to play unsupervised.

His words are bubbles underwater. Six feet below the surface, wide-eyed, laughing, he is not holding his breath. He has gills. I have learned to hear Rocco’s eyes. “Follow me!” and he flips around like a fish.
He climbs back up onto the glassy board and we paddle out again to where the break is white. Nightfall. The violet sky, the white sea, Rocco, a sea-elf riding the tip of the board. He cocks his head to look back at me. Rising behind him, the seventh wave of the set, a wave three times as high as he. “Let go now,” he smiles, his small hand telling me to leave.
Virgo (August 24 – September 22) — It's a great week for learning new lessens, so keep your antenna tuned. Don't let those closest to you test your patience by pushing your buttons. Chorus: “Would you like to swing on a star Carry moonbeams home in a jar And be better off than you are Or would you rather be ....” The choices in the song are: mule, pig, fish and monkey. My poem uses the chorus, but I also added 3 more stanzas. (Lawrence Spiro July 2022) 1. Star Shining in the night 2. Rose in a beautiful garden 3. Weed on the side of the road
I am sure I hear the white sea whispering, her sonorous voice, “Rocco up. Rocco up.” The violet sky, the white sea, I push him, boy and board, into the arms of the cresting wave. The song "Swinging on a Star" is a timeless funny song. It was sung by Bing Crosby. Yikes Im dating myself.

Be deliberate and diligent, thus maintaining the upper hand. You can achieve movement in other areas of life you wish to improve. Some travel may be delayed or canceled, giving you free time.
Aquarius (January 21 – February 19) — Parties of all kinds are places for you to shine. You may experience what appears to be an extreme and frenzied social calendar; however, stay calm, relaxed, and collected. You will be able to handle your schedule with no problem. Timing at work is crucial in pitching your ideas successfully. Pisces (February 20 – March 20) — You won't have time to follow your dreams unless you learn to delegate some mundane work. Changes in your style symbolize a fresh look and an ability to go forward. Aries (March 21 - April 20) — Collect your thoughts and present them to your colleagues. Getting input and working together will help to strengthen the ideas and the team in the process. Taurus (April 21 - May 21) — You can be impulsive and wonder why you did what you did this week. Your impulsiveness is what a "good-looking someone" finds attractive about you. However, using your imagination too much will tire you out. So instead, learn to relax and unwind.
Gemini (May 22 - June 21) — Try to negotiate more influence on the job. Others want to assist. Concentrate on personal growth, increasing your magnetism with new contacts. You tend to be more attracted to a character than a body type. Friends can be jealous of your achievements, so be gracious and humble in your interactions. __________________________________________ Please call Francine Tesler Psychic Medium Medical Intuitive for an appointment in her office: 220 King Street • Chappaqua, NY • (914) 469-6693 www.FrancineTesler.com __________________________________________

sulted in a lovely presentation and even better taste. However, the savory Pan Seared Striped Bass was a table favorite! Fresh from the water, gently seared and perched atop a bed of garlic mashed potatoes, asparagus and pea tendrils (sauteed with bits of fresh bacon) on the side, and a fabulous lemon sauce-it was unbelievable. There’s nothing like freshly caught fish, and when it’s accompanied by such a beautiful variety of flavors and textures, it can’t be beat. Even the pea tendrils, which I can’t recall ever eating, were so tender and tasted a bit like a mix of broccoli rabe and spinach. A trip to Westlake Fish House cannot be complete without some sushi- or as in our case, a lot of sushi, sashimi and rolls. First came the Sashimi Deluxe, which is a large platter full of beautifully arranged pieces of fresh fish and garnish; tuna, yellowtail, striped bass, fluke, octopus, and salmon. A special roll of the evening was the Rosa, which included salmon, tuna, yellowtail, cucumber, and avocado inside pink soy paper and creatively arranged like a pinwheel. One of my go-to rolls is the

Rough Riders, with shrimp tempura and cucumber inside, spicy lobster salad and seared tuna outside, the combination of texture and taste is perfect. And finally, The Lighthouse Roll included spicy scallop and tobiko inside, with avocado, fluke, and tuna outside. So many delightful choices, it’s hard to choose. Dessert? Well of course. The ‘right out of mom’s oven’ warm and chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie served with a scoop of ice cream and fresh whipped cream was decadently delicious. Of course, so was the warm Molten Chocolate Cake; arranged with an array of fresh fruit and vanilla ice cream. The Banana Caramel Cheesecake Churro- well that pretty much says it all. Wings Over Haiti Soars Again!
Presenting the Fifth Annual “Hamptons Artists for Haiti” Benefit at the East Hampton Airport on July 16, 2022
This year’s Honorary Chair is Donna Karan and the Honorary Committee includes April Gornik, Eric Fischl, Patricia Arquette, Molly Channing, Maria Bello, and Emily Wickersham. Join us for the 5th Annual “Hamptons Artists for Haiti Benefit” at East Hampton Airport on July 16, from 5:30 to 8:00 pm. Come to this fun, worthwhile event and help Sag Harbor artist and pilot Jonathan Glynn and his team continue expanding their second school in Haiti, which opened its doors two years ago and this fall will feed and educate 100 students, on the way to 400. Proceeds from this benefit will go to building more classrooms, and give the kids of Ranquitte, Haiti regular meals and an education for which there is currently no other access. The first school was built by “Wings Over Haiti” in 2010, in the capital of Port au Prince, after Haiti was ravaged by a terrible earthquake. Jonathan Glynn was one of the first private pilots to bring medical supplies to remote areas of Haiti. He and his team then built the first school, which now has over 250 students and is growing a grade every year. The students all get two meals a day and medical attention, which they wouldn’t get if not for the school. “You have to feed the kids first. Only then you can feed their minds”, Donna Karan with Jonathan Glynn and Arthur Bijur says Jonathan. Donna Karan added: “I am delighted to serve as Honorary Chair of the Wings Over Haiti Benefit Committee to Help Wings Over Haiti grow their second school in Haiti. How can such a close neighbor of the United States continue to be the poorest contry in our hemisphere and in such constant turmoil? Haiti needs us all to help change that narrative. And I do believe the best way to do this is by educationg Haiti’s children, the country’s future leaders. Please join us and help us help the kids.” Fittingly, the “Hamptons Artists For Haiti” event will be held at the East Hampton Airport, on Daniels Hole Road in East Hampton, spread over three airplane hangers. It will feature a silent art auction of works by over 30 East End artists, curated by Coco Myers of folioeast. The artwork includes paintings, photographs and sculptures. There will also be an open bar, music by the Lynn Blue Band, hors d’oeuvres catered by Insatiable Eats, great raffle prizes, jewelry and global goods by Donna Karan’s Urban Zen, wine by Macari Vineyards and other contributors and airplanes will be on display. There will be plenty of free parking available. Tickets are $175 in advance, $195 at the door and are tax deductible. Children under 12 are free. This is a family-friendly event, and all are welcome. Tickets are available at: www.wingsoverhaiti.net
