Built in three phases between 1897 and 1908, Main Hall has been described as “a hodge-podge of Victorian Classic.” The central portion of the building, constructed during phase two, is known for its wisteria-covered rounded arches over the main entrance. Cornices feature intricate designs that were popular during the Victorian period. A women’s residence hall, Main is also known for its “Grand Staircase” in the central foyer. Main Hall is one 28 buildings on campus listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
