The University of Montevallo's chapter of the National Student Speech-Language, and Hearing Association (NSSLHA) consists of full/ part-time undergraduate and full time graduate Speech-Language Pathology students. Its purpose is to: encourage professional interest in the study of human communication behavior; provide professional information to its NSSLHA members; represent students in matters of professional concern within the University, the community, and at the National NSSLHA level. Admission to the Junior Class Freshmen and new transfer students have to be admitted into the junior class in order to complete a major in Communication Science and Disorders (CSD). Admission to the junior class is competitive and required for a student to continue towards a B.S. degree in CSD. Upper level CSD courses are only available to students who are CSD majors and have been admitted into the junior class. CSD 101, 253, and 291 are pre-requisite courses required prior to application for the junior class. CSD 385 is open to students regardless of major to explore Cultural Diversity Issues.
