SENIOR NAMED NATIONAL MERIT STUDENT

Montini Catholic Principal, Kevin Beirne, recently announced that senior, Andrew Ernat has been named a Commended Scholar in the National Merit Scholarship Program. Of the 1.6 million entrants, some 50,000 with the highest PSAT/NMSQTÂŽ Selection Index scores (calculated by doubling the sum of the Reading, Writing and Language, and Math Test scores) qualify for recognition in the National MeritÂŽ Scholarship Program. Andrew is among more than two-thirds (about 34,000) of the approximately 50,000 high scorers who received Letters of Commendation in recognition of their outstanding academic promise. ALUM KEEPS EVERYONE LAUGHING Matt Kissane began his career in the media/arts at Morris College in New Jersey as an on air radio personality. Before graduating from University of Maryland he also interned at NBC Nightly News for Tom Brokaw in New York. Upon graduation he attended Second City's Players Workshop in Chicago and began working full time as a comic/actor. Matt has toured across America performing at such well known venues as Summerfest in Wisconsin and has opened for Weird Al Yankovic, Doug Stanhope and Kevin Nealon. Recently, Matt has appeared in episodes of Chicago P.D., Chicago Fire and Chicago Med and Fox's APB. He can also be seen on Vimeo and You Tube where Matt hosts a video series. Matt has leveraged his acting and comedic skills to become a highly sought out corporate entertainer. His impersonations include Matt Foley (Chris Farley), Da Bears Super Fans and Donald Trump. Check out Matt's latest You Tube video hyping #14 Undefeated Montini vs. #6 Undefeated Br. Rice game this Friday at 7:30pm for the Blue Division Catholic League Championship at Duffy Memorial Stadium.

AP SCHOLARS ANNOUNCED Montini Catholic High School is recognizing twenty-eight outstanding students honored as AP Scholars, AP Scholars with Honor, and AP Scholars with Distinction. Montini Catholic students achieved an average score of 3.38. "A total of 100 of our students completed 178 Advanced Placement Examinations," said President Jim Segredo. "Thirty-three perfect scores of 5 were reached in 8 different subjects!" Montini Catholic currently offers thirteen Advanced Placement Exam options to sophomores, juniors and seniors. Advanced Placement courses are high school courses that have college level curriculum and include the opportunity to take a test at the end of the year to earn college credit. YOUNG LASALLIANS OFFERS OPPORTUNITIES Young Lasallians are those who are involved in the Lasallian Educational Mission – including both current and former students, Lasallian Volunteers, teachers, faculty and staff, administrators, and young Brothers. These people are looking to further their commitment, possibly in a leadership position, to their inspiration of St. John Baptist de La Salle. Young Lasallians is a group of people who were positively affected by their experiences with the Lasallian Educational Mission and are looking to further their connections to it. This particular age is very impactful to creating change and advocating to other young people. The Young Lasallian Movement is international, aiming to support young people on their faith journeys to reach out to those around them and build a better world. a tour, and experience Broncoland for yourself. Our Fall Open Houses will be on Tuesday, October 23rd at 6:30pm and Thursday, November 8th at 6:30pm. The Admissions Office also offers "Meet Montini" breakfast gatherings. Each month, from September through April, we offer an informal information session for parents with our Administration and the Admissions Team. This event will include a tour of the school while classes are in session as well as a light breakfast. The Meet Montini events begin in DeLaSalle Hall at 8:30am and will last approximately 2 hours. Private tours and meetings are also available for families who would like to learn more about Montini Catholic.
