Montini Catholic high school Alumni Association Hall of Fame 2019& It is with great pride that we welcome you to the 2019 Alumni Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.

Congratulations to our newest inductees: Peter Cappetta ‘07 & Glenn Shimkus ‘88


Peter Cappetta ‘07 Exceptional athletic achievement in baseball throughout his high school career and beyond. Peter is currently working for Walton Street Capital - Private Equity Real Estate Firm, in Portfolio Management overseeing fund performance. He is married to Meghan and they are the proud parents of Luke Joseph. Peter’s achievements are quite numerous, but his biggest sports thrill was scoring a touchdown during Montini’s 2004 State Championship Football Game! He earned eleven varsity letters and played in an impressive 272 out of 273 varsity Baseball, Basketball and Football games during his high school career (2003 - 2007). Peter also served as the treasurer of Montini’s National Honor Society and was an Illinois State Scholar.

MONTINI Football • Two Time All Area & All SCC Team MVP junior and senior years • Amassed over 2,300 total yards as a quarterback in the 2006 season • Led Montini to the 2004 4A State Football Championship • Rushed for 200 yards in the 2005 state playoff game vs. Rock Island Alleman

MONTINI Baseball • Ranked No. 15 in the state (Class of 2007) by Prep Baseball Report • 2X Daily Herald All-Area and 3X All-Suburban Catholic Conference selection


• Along with Illini teammates Nick Chmielewski and Casey McMurray, led Top Tier summer team to 2007 Connie Mack World Series • 2007 Press Publication Player of Year • 2007 DuPage Daily Herald All Area Baseball Captain & SCC Player of Year • 2007 Daily Herald Senior Athlete of the Year • 2007 Chicago Sun Times 1st Team All Area • 2007 Chicago Tribune All-State special mention • Chicago Sun-Times 2nd Place Male Athlete of the Year • 2007 IHSA All State • As a senior, hit .420 with 10 HR and 38 RBI, with a 9-1 pitching record and a 0.50 ERA ... Hit .445 with 10 home runs to go with eight pitching wins and a no-hitter in 2006 ... Hit .430 as a sophomore and won nine games on the mound • Led Montini to a 2004 State Class A runner-up finish, winning the semifinal game against Williamsville ... Played in the 2006 Jack Kaiser All-Star game

Glenn Shimkus‘88 Exceptional positive impact through his leadership in the business, professional and civic community. Glenn is a technology enthusiast and entrepreneur with 25+ years of experience building world-class teams and delivering exceptional products. He is a respected industry expert and visionary in the fields of document management, enterprise cloud, mobile applications and real estate technology. Glenn has been named one of the 100 Most Influential People in Real Estate by Inman News and one of the 200 Most Powerful People in Real Estate by New York Times best-selling author Stefan Swanepoel. He is currently a member of the Advisory Board at DocuSign, an Executive Advisor at Relativity and Liveoak Technologies, and on the Board of Directors at Crowdfind. He is also actively engaged with several early stage tech companies in which he has an investment, he serves as a mentor for TechStars Chicago and REach (the accelerator for the National Association of Realtors) as well as a fund advisor for Seven Peaks Ventures, OCA Ventures and Chicago Ventures. Currently, Glenn is the Vice President of Strategy and Innovation at the National Association of Realtors, the largest trade association in the United States. In this newly created role, he is responsible for uncovering and evaluating emerging technologies that may impact the global real estate market (residential and commercial) including ancillary services such as mortgage and title. Prior to joining the National Association of Realtors, Glenn spent a decade as a tech entrepreneur in the real estate industry. Most recently he was the Vice President of Product at DocuSign, where he spent four years leading the company’s Global Real Estate Solutions product team and led the Company's evolution from eSignatures to Digital Transaction Management. He was one of the key executives who helped the company grow from 300 employees and under $35M in revenue to 2,600 employees and $520M in revenue within a 5 year period.


Before getting acquired by DocuSign, Glenn founded Cartavi in 2008 after his wife became a real estate agent and he saw the challenges she faced managing, securing and sharing the myriad of documents that drive a real estate transaction. e Company’s product was released in beta in 2010 and received significant industry recognition including the prestigious Edison Award for Innovative Services, product of the year for Transaction Management/eSignature from Agent Magazine, 2nd place for Best Innovation from RENT and twice was a finalist for Technology product of the year from Inman News. Glenn bootstrapped Cartavi for more than three years, raised one round of venture capital, established the product as the leading Transaction Management platform in the real estate industry, and sold the company to DocuSign to accelerate the growth of Cartavi’s product in real estate as well as move into other industries. Prior to founding Cartavi, Glenn was the Chief Technology Officer at Morgan Street Document Systems and the founder and CEO of LightsEdge—both of which offered cloud-based solutions for managing documents while supporting a highly mobile constituency. Before the entrepreneurial bug bit, Glenn spent more than a decade working for large international organizations such as Amdocs, Platinum Technology, and Unisys, where he focused on leading those organizations’ efforts in Product Management with a focus in content/document management. On a personal level, Glenn is active in his community having served as a Trustee for the Aurora Public Library System and Board of Directors for the Northern Illinois Food Bank. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the St. Charles Country Club and is active working with the City of St. Charles on various committees and initiatives. He splits his time with his wife Shantel between his homes in St Charles, IL and Naples, FL. He has three children – Taylor, who recently graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) with a degree in film production and editing who is currently a part of the Creative Team at Universal Studios; Brandon, who is entering his senior year at Purdue University where he is pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering and a minor in Design and Innovation; and Jillian who is about to begin her Freshman year at Jacksonville University, studying speech pathology with a focus on special needs children. Glenn is a graduate of University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree with a focus in international economics. He also earned his Associates of Arts degree from Joliet Junior College.
