, s n o i t a l u t a r g Con graduates!

Congrats! NEW BRONCOS get a surprise! Members of our faculty and staff delivered a surprise 'welcome to high school' gift to the newest Broncos making up their Class of 2024. Graduating 8th graders who are now looking forward to their Bronco experience received a special yard sign and t-shirt to commemorate this new chapter in their lives. Normally during this time of year, we host our annual First Step Social for incoming freshmen. This year, the event will be held online and presented the opportunity for freshmen to get to know their fellow classmates and future friends. "We hope to ease a little nervousness some may be feeling about entering high school," said Admissions Rep Jennifer Kavanagh. "We want them walking through our doors on their first day of high school with a sense of familiarity."

On behalf of the Considine Family Memorial Fund, Montini Catholic proudly awarded the Considine Memorial Scholarship to 2 Bronco seniors - Stefanny Escareno (St. Dominic School) and Megan Laughlin (St. Raphael School). The award is presented to exceptional seniors demonstrating impressive academic and leadership achievements, as well as creativity and writing talent. So far, over 25 talented young Broncos have received this special scholarship. Mrs. Joan Considine, was the English Department chair and faculty member for 28 years at Montini Catholic. In the years prior to her death in 2015, she chose the recipient of the scholarship (in memory of her daughter, Colleen) each spring based on her experiences as a teacher with students. Today, students hoping to receive the $2,000 college scholarship are asked to submit a written essay describing an event that touched them and inspired them to pursue excellence.

"We want them walking through the doors with a sense of familiarity!

Bronco sidelines will see a few new faces with additions to our award winning coaching staff. Mike Benefiel '07 has been selected as the new Head Coach of the Bronco Championship Wrestling Team. "Mike takes over the program after having wrestled as a Bronco student athlete at Montini and serving as Assistant Coach for the last 6 years where he has seen our Broncos through to four state championships," said Principal Kevin Beirne. "We feel Coach Benefiel is best positioned to continue the incredible success the wrestling program and the student athletes in it have been able to achieve for more than 20 years."

Go Broncos!

Shannon (Herold) Spanos ‘99 will head up our Lady Broncos Varsity Basketball Team. "We set out to find a leader not only capable of continuing the winning tradition in the program, but someone who would lead with passion, energy, professionalism, and integrity," said Principal Kevin Beirne upon announcing Coach Spanos to the student body. "Our athletes deserve the very best, and we’re confident we’ve found a great fit!" Finally, it’s Coach Adam DeMong who will lead our Boys Varsity Basketball Team! Coach DeMong began his basketball playing career at Glenbard West High School. "It’s clear from his substantial playing and coaching experience that Adam has an incredibly high basketball IQ," said Principal Kevin Beirne upon introducing him to the Montini Catholic community. "When you meet him, you’ll quickly get a sense of just how driven he is to succeed and how passionate he is about the growth of his players and the team."

Welcome coaches!
