Whether your interests are in sports, academics or the arts, we are sure that you will find that there is something here for you.

Our coaches look forward to conducting our athletic camps each summer, and offer a wide variety of fundamental camps for all ages, as well as specific camps in several sports. They are committed to working with you every day to hone and improve your knowledge and skills. We are always hearing from happy parents about how much their children are learning during our athletic camps. We are also proud to offer a variety of academic and fine arts camps to boys and girls entering fifth through eighth grade. Our teachers have created many interesting educational programs to expose you to learning that is both challenging and fun. Registration is going on now! Athletic Camps

Baseball

Boys Grades 4 - 8

Future Broncos Summer Baseball Camp is open to grades 5-9, and will provide campers the opportunity to work with Coach Rich Janor and members of the 2019 State Champion Montini Catholic Broncos varsity team and sta. Topics covered will include hitting, pitching, catching, defense, and base running in an instructional and fun-ďŹ lled environment. Incoming freshmen are strongly encouraged to attend. The camp will take place on Bronco Baseball Field, and will be moved into the Fieldhouse if necessary due to weather. Coach Janor is in his 20th season coaching high school baseball, and was recently recognized as 2019 Chicago Cubs High School Coach of the Year and 2019 IHSBCA 3A Coach of the Year. Campers should bring a bat, glove, spikes (gym shoes in case of inclement weather) and water.

Bask ball

Girls Grades 3 - 8

Join one of the top Girls Basketball Coaches in the nation, Head Coach Jason Nichols. Over Coach Nichols’ tenure he has compiled four state titles in 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2014 along with a 2nd place finish in 2018 and 3rd place finishes in 2008, 2013, 2015, and 2017. Coach Nichols, who’s compiled over 580 victories in 18 years, heads camps for girls ranging from 3rd-8th Grades. The Skills Camp will focus on the basic techniques used to be a successful Lady Bronco and the Shooting Camp will concentrate on basic shooting mechanics needed to be successful. Campers should bring basketball shoes, gym apparel, and water.

Boys Grades 4 - 8

The Montini Bronco Boys Basketball team has had much recent success! Our goal is to help you become a better basketball player. We will provide the fundamental skills needed for the next level. Ball handling is a important part of the game. We will help improve your confidence in controlling the basketball off the dribble. Effective ball handling can improve your passing and create open shots for your teammates. We will help with the proper basketball shooting technique, fundamentals and form to become a better shooter. Campers must wear basketball attire (shoes, shorts, reversible jersey or shirt) and bring a basketball. If your skill level is above the grade you will be attending then feel free to sign up for the higher grade.

Girls Grades 4 - 8

Please join Head Coach Gail Casey and Montini Girls' Cross Country Team for summer distance running. We will meet on the Illinois Prairie Path in Villa Park (Gazebo at Ardmore and Park) with some Saturdays at Katherine Legge Park in Hinsdale. This supervised camp will give young athletes a range in training from workouts, hills, and long runs on the trails of the Prairie Path and at the park. We welcome all grade school girls as well as junior high students as we train at all ability levels. Please bring proper shoes, workout clothing and water.

Join Boys Head Coach, Eric Brechtel and prepare yourself for the upcoming grade school cross country season! Learn what it takes to be a great team mate and champion! Cost is for five weeks of training! All you need to bring are shoes, workout clothes, water, and excitement! Meet Camp Director, Eric Brechtel! Coach Brechtel ran Track at Division III powerhouse North Central College. He has been coaching track for over 10 years and has been Montini's head coach since 2014. He studied under "Sprint Guru" Chris Korfist and has coached numerous state qualifiers, individual all-state athletes and all-state relays.

Join Coach, Eugenia Scavone, and the Montini Catholic Broncettes as we celebrate our 17th Annual Dance Upon a Star Summer! Each Camper will receive their own set of Pom Pons, a Camp t-shirt and complete a craft spirit project. On the ďŹ nal night of camp we will host a pasta dinner for the campers and they will showcase their two routines at a Pep Rally for family and friends! Each camper is invited back in the fall, at no extra cost, to learn a new routine and perform with the Broncettes under the lights at a home Bronco Varsity Football Game.

Boys Grades 4 - 8

Join Head Football Coach Mike Bukovsky on the field this summer! Montini’s Broncos have won 6 IHSA State Championships, and have qualified for the IHSA State Playoffs for a record of 27 straight years! Our Youth Skills is a non-contact camp that will focus on the basic fundamentals of football with a strong emphasis on movement skills. All campers will receive a Bronco Football t-shirt. Big Man Camp is a one day specialty camp for offensive and defensive linemen. The Bronco staff has produced over 2 dozen Division I linemen earning scholarships to some of the top schools in the country. This intensive non-contact camp will focus on the basic skills needed to play on the offensive and defensive lines, including stance, movement, hand fighting pad level, and strikes. All campers will receive a special Bronco ‘Big Man’ t-shirt. Campers should bring cleats, athletic apparel and water.

Golf

Boys Grades 4 - 8

Golf enthusiasts will spend four days on the range, at the putting, green and on the golf course during this four-day camp directed by Montini Catholic Varsity Coach, Eric Scott. Campers will learn proper golf etiquette, course management, ball striking swing mechanics, chipping/approach, and putting. Campers will need to bring their own golf clubs, golf shoes, dress in golf attire, and bring water.

This active camp will introduce your favorite small fry to a wide range of sports including Basketball, Soccer, Baseball, Volleyball, Track and Dance. The energetic camp is led by Math Teacher and Head Boys Volleyball Coach Brian Opoka, who has two Junior Broncos of his own! Coach Opoka was a Lawless Award winner in 2018 Boys Volleyball and currently teaches in Montini's Math Department. He was the Boys Basketball Coach at Montini from 2008-2015 and has experience as an instructor at the BullsSox Academy in Lisle. Coach Opoka was also a Recreation Leader in the Chicago Park District's Day Camp Program. The camp will conclude with an awesome Bubble Dance Party on the last day. All campers will receive a camp t-shirt! Parent/Guardian/Sitter must stay onsite during camp. Please bring athletic apparel and water.

Join Erin Bradarich and the two-time State Champion Broncos this summer for four days of oensive and defensive skill work at every ability level. Elevate your game as we take it one step further, discussing the philosophy of both hitting and ďŹ elding in order to prepare you to be successful playing at the next level! Campers must provide their own gloves. Softball pants and cleats are not required, but strongly suggested.

Head Coach Barry Briggs (Boys and Girls Assistant) will host this awesome camp for campers ranging from 5th through 8th grades. In 2014 and 2019 Coach Briggs led our girls to an IHSA Class 1A Regional Title and the Boys Soccer team won the IHSA Class 1A Regional Title in 2013, 2015, and 2016 and 2019. This highly charged camp will focus on the proper fundamentals, skills, and techniques needed to be successful. The focus will be on learning and reďŹ ning skills, learning and perfecting new moves for taking players on 1-on-1. Campers need to bring cleats, tennis shoes, shin guards and water.

Speed &Agility

Montini Catholic’s Speed and Agility Camp will focus on training proper running form and techniques to get the most out of an athlete’s ability. Not only will we focus on straight ahead speed, but also proper multi-direction agility techniques will be taught and drilled. Runners will notice a difference in their speed and form by the end of the camp. Campers will also be provided with drills that they can practice on their own. (Camp directed by Boys Track Head Coach Eric Brechtel.) Campers need to bring proper shoes and water.

The Montini Lady Broncos are coming off several years of Sectional Final appearances and are looking to get back down to the State Finals in 2020! Coach Samolinski has over 20 years of coaching experience and is enthusiastic about her first season at Montini. The experienced Lady Bronco Staff will offer an energetic and enthusiastic approach to developing fundamentals for beginners and advanced instruction for the more competitive campers. Campers are required to wear athletic apparel, gym shoes and bring a water bottle (knee pads are optional).

Montini’s Boys Volleyball Team will be oering a Skill Development Camp this Summer. Monitni's Boys Volleyball Program has won CCL Titles in 2 of the last 3 years. The Camp will be led by 2018 Lawless Award Winning Coach Brian Opoka. The camp will focus on all skills of the game of Volleyball, all while having fun playing games. The Volleyball Skills Camp is a unique camp blending the talents of both our Boys and Girls Staffs. Camp is designed for boys and girls volleyball players and brings a young enthusiastic vibe to your camper while focusing on fundamentals for your beginner and advanced instruction for the more competitive athlete. This two-week camp is designed for students interested in learning Chinese, creating Chinese arts and crafts, experiencing Chinese culture and traditions, and making friends. The camp focuses on building a student’s Chinese language skills and their interest and curiosity in understanding Chinese culture. Throughout the two week program, students will gain basis in Chinese Mandarine speaking, writing and engage in a variety of activities such as singing songs, making opera mask, playing ping pong ball, paper cutting, calligraphy, and more fun educational games to enhance their learning.

X-treme Science

Coed Grades 5 - 8

X-Treme Science is for ‘young scientists’ looking for a fun but educational summer camp. Campers will enjoy a week of scientific exploration, cool experiments, new friendships and lots of fun as they participate in a wide range of engaging activities (including competitions) from across the sciences, both in science lab and outdoors. Throughout this weeklong learning extravaganza, campers will dive into all things science while building a rocket, bridge, airplane and catapult. Finally, it wouldn’t be Xtreme Science without creating your own crystals and slime!

FlyingRobot Drone

Coed Grades 5 - 8

A STEM-based camp designed for students entering grades 5, 6, 7, & 8 who want to let their coding skills soar! We will be using the Tello drone system to write code that will guide your drone through various challenges and competitions. You will code for several kinds of drone missions; flight control, taking photos, picking up & carrying objects, trick flying and more! You and your flying robot will eventually be ready to perform aerial acrobatics. You will also learn about drone safety and the future of robotic flight. Previous Scratch or LEGO EV3 experience is recommended but not required. Limited to 18 campers per session.

Video Game Coding

Coed Grades 5 - 8

A fun STEM-based camp for students entering grades 5, 6, 7, & 8. In five sessions, you will code your own unique playable video games that can be shared with family and friends. Campers will learn the basics of programming using the Scratch system. Scratch is a visual programming language developed by researchers at M.I.T.’s Media Lab as an engaging way to teach coding skills to students of all ages. Students need no prior programming experience to succeed and have fun coding with Scratch in this camp. Limited to 20 campers per session.

Coed Grades 5 - 8

A STEM-based camp for students entering grades 5-8. Combine the power of computers with your creativity & design skills! Want to make custom-designed 3D-printed objects that you get to keep? This camp provides hands-on experience in 3D design & printing. We explore the world of 3D design using Tinkercad and other tools. Campers learn to use software to design and create amazing solutions to real-world challenges. Campers will design at least four objects that we’ll print on our fleet of nine 3D printers. Campers will get to take home all of the objects that they design and print. Limited to 18 campers per session.

A STEM-based camp for students entering grades 5, 6, 7, & 8. Have you ever wanted to create a robot and code it to carry out useful tasks? Would you like to have your robot compete against other robots? If your answer is, “Yes!”, then this camp is for YOU! In five sessions you will create several different robots and program them to complete various useful tasks. We will build and code using LEGO’s EV3 robotics kits. Previous Scratch or LEGO EV3 experience is recommended but not required. Limited to 20 campers per session.

Fine ARTS Camps

No stagefright for you? Montini is oering a Summer Theater Camp for any interested students. No experience is required, just a desire to make new friends and express yourself on stage. We will learn acting, singing, musical theater techniques, improvisation, movement/dance, and self expression. Any student from any school is invited to attend and the age range is ďŹ fth grade through twelfth grade. The drama camp will be run by professional directors Dr. Diann Matheson and Mr. Belford Hernandez. Participants are required to bring a lunch and dress in layers.
