Mode magazine Hello dear readers, What exactly is the importance of Valentine's Day Anyhow you might ask? The importance lies in the fact that it celebrates love. It is a day of romance and for forming relationships that can last a lifetime. For many, it provides a nice contrast to the hatred and violence rampant in today's society. Valentine's Day is a day to celebrate romance and love. The most well known symbol of this holiday is a cherub with a bow and arrow, Cupid shoots arrows to stoke the flames of lust and romantic desire in his targets. Though Cupid has become a spirited, childlike figure associated with love and Valentine's Day, he is actually a mischeivious figure straight from Greek Mythology! The day is usually celebrated by giving friends, family and especially significant others flowers and gifts to show affection and appreciation. The traditions of Valentine's Day actually date back to ancient Roman times. Saint Valentine's Day was established after two martyrs, both named Valentine, were executed on February 14 in the third century A.D. In the fifth century, the Pope combined Saint Valentine's Day with the feast of Lupercalia and made it a day of fertility and love. We at Moolto & MODE extend much love to all our readers, that Cupid's aim may be true and his arrow may hit the mark for you this year! We hope that you will be inspired to share love and understanding with your fellow residents and, even if for only one day, let go of grudges or the harboring of negativity to feel the love that fills the air and the romance that can be waiting just around that next corner. rwenn blogs for several stores and is also an official blogger for events We Love to Blog, Enchantment, Hashtag and Labyrinth. “It gets pretty tough at times, especially trying to keep up with my store as well.” Being both a blogger as well as a creator gives her a bit more insight on how both parties work and one of the things she would like to impart to other bloggers. “Try and blog everything I know is not always possible, but try to blog things you’ve never heard of or very little of. Give even exposure, not just the popular.” The other thing that Arwenn makes sure she does as a blogger is let the creators/designers know she has blogged one of their items. “That little extra step means a lot. f you are looking for something easy to use that will help you navigate the SL World of Fashion and more… read on! The Fashion Directory is a new hud created by Roscko Cobalt to help all fashionistas find the latest and greatest on the grid – who hasn’t struggled trying to keep up with SL Fashion – this hud is designed to help you do just that! “My concept for the Fashion Directory is to get shoppers to designers stores. It's unbelievable how many SL users don’t know about fashion groups or blogs, all they know is search and marketplace. The clients who do know about the groups rarely see the notices sent out, most people just ignore or close them.” The Fashion Directory hud supplies those that wear it with new content constantly. Ads appear instantaneously and can be changed as many times as a designer likes, all day long! The beauty of this system is that the hud drives traffic to the designers store so shoppers can see everything. The hud can even offer a gift as long as an avatar has the hud on without being forced to join another group. Roscko Cobalt and his wife are both builders and designers and have struggled with promoting their shop. “Our choices were events/group notices or hunts etc., but all were either very expensive or time consuming. We needed something that was simple for both designers and shoppers so we started conceptualizing this hud.” Roscko Cobalt admits that the Fashion Director is still a work in progress. “It has yet to fully evolve, as more designers and shoppers use it, suggestions and features will be implemented. We have ported it to a site as well but that is still in beta at the moment: http://sl-directory. com/fashion. There will be some changes in the near future to address any pitfalls and maybe expansion beyond just fashion. Categories will also be getting an update based on current beta users suggestions.” One of the lessons Roscko has learned from other builds is that people in SL want things that are simple. “Groups, notecard configurations and daunting setup instructions for both the shopper and designer have put people off from using such systems. I want to change that, and SL needs that change. That’s why I came up with this system most people can’t believe how simple it really is to use and setup. I can setup an ad in under a minute, all you need is the ad picture and changing the picture’s name actually sets everything up for you.” Every new concept comes with challenges and for Roscko the biggest challenge with the Fashion Directory is introducing it to designers. “Designers are accustomed to time consuming expensive systems that require more work for them. Each designer that tried it made same comment – “omg this is so easy”. Our problem is getting the designers to try it.” Roscko has big plans for the Fashion Directory in 2017. “I am hoping to expand the system so that it will have a lot more features that shoppers will find useful. Some features will include: real time item searching, ratings and reviews, event listings and more. One feature that’s in the works is a built in hunt system that designers can join with very little work on their end.” Roscko Cobalt is an all around nice guy and a damn clever one as well. “I’m just a guy trying to do my part in helping make SL a better place than when I joined it. Whether it's building, designing clothes, scripting or just hanging out with friends and family in SL, I try to make the most of it enjoyable, creative and fun. I’m easy going and open minded, which has in turn opened a whole new world for me in SL. Now I have friends from all over the world and feel that has helped me become what I am and know today.”

s you cam image, this has been a learning experience for Morgan as the Center has evolved. “There are many people that believe in my mission. Sadly, I still experience backlash from people that think that I am some sort of feminist Nazi trying to destroy their SL fantasies (God knows what that entails. **shudders to think**). My greatest challenge is trying to convince SL residents that my Center is safe and free. I never ask for donations...everything I do is only to educate the SL public, to help them in both lives.” On the other hand, positive feedback inspires Morgan to keep going. “ It is all worthwhile when a resident says "I had no idea that was a warning sign of an abusive relationship!" or "This information is so helpful!" Morgan has ambitious plans for the future. “I hope to continue my monthly class discussions and hope to have another educator in order to offer more classes. One of my most cherished goals is to create an event in conjunction with LoveIsRespect.org and National Domestic Violence. I know that LoveIsRespect.org is very supportive of the mission of my Center in RL. They are great people.” As for RL, Moran will advocate for domestic violence and violence against women. “ Once I complete my PhD., victims of abuse will no longer be silent. They have someone on their side.”
