Bracknell Forest Festival Bracknell Forest Council and The Lexicon have teamed up to create a fabulous forest festival to celebrate the town centre’s fifth birthday. Taking place in the town centre from Wednesday August 24 to Sunday September 4 2022, the event will see the return of the mighty giant tree giants, beautiful forest sprites, a unique immersive night forest experience and a fun filled programme of entertainment, education and give-aways. High up or low down – Go Ape Bracknell has got adventure covered!

Explore, celebrate and play at The Museum of English Rural Life There are always plenty of reasons to visit The Museum of English Rural Life in Reading whether you’re looking to explore the galleries or have fun in the garden! This summer, they’re using their collections to inspire events and activities on the theme of CARE. Explore ways you can take care of yourselves, others and nature in their free family event on 10th August, go and meet the animals from Miller’s Ark Farm on the 17th, and pick up a ‘Caring for Nature’ activity pack throughout the summer. Along with their partners, Reading Museum, they’re continuing to celebrate local history through the Huntley & Palmers themed biscuit programme – including a fun-filled family activity pack and a chance to meet Mr Palmer himself! Enjoy a Treasure Hunt on a Train this summer! The Southeast Communities Rail Partnership will be running a free Treasure Hunt on a Train on the North Downs Railway Line between Saturday 23rd July and Sunday 4th September 2022 (please note you will need to buy your train tickets from Great Western Railway). The line runs between Reading, via Guildford, to Redhill. Travel along the line and hunt for clues on board the train and at different destinations to find some quirky Alice in Wonderland treasures! Let’s go fly a kite – the festival is back! Norden Farm Centre for the Arts is excited to announce that the Kite Festival is back this year, taking place on Sunday 4th September in Maidenhead’s Boyn Grove Park (Punt Hill). In the lead up to the festival, families can create their own kites in a series of workshops held at Norden Farm. Festival goers can buy kits to make on the day or bring kites they’ve made already and fill the sky with brightly coloured dancing kites.
