Notices and News updates for parents and teachers
What should you look for in an 11+ tutor? Places at Grammar and Independent schools are highly sought after in Trafford and every year the competition continues to rise. It has never been more important to take the right steps to secure your child’s future. Paul White, Senior Tutor at KSOL says: “In such a competitive environment, personalisation is key. An 11+ tutor should identify a child’s weaker areas and tackle them head on. They should also specialise in 11+ tuition to ensure that children receive up-todate and thoroughly researched material.”
Stockport Grammar celebrates their five budding poets Budding poets from Stockport Grammar School had their work published as part of a landmark initiative to help celebrate the Declaration of Human Rights. The first Greater Manchester Poetic Declaration of Human Rights was created by students from across the area in a bid to highlight the importance of the original document – which was created in 1948. Of the 30 poems that appeared in the book, five of those were written by SGS English and Drama pupils; George Hammond, Jess Wiggetts, Alex Powrie, Mia Forvargue, and Emma Griffiths – which was the most from any contributor. Head of Drama, Mr Matt King-Sayce and English teacher, Mrs Rebecca Walsh supported the pupils in the project. Mrs Walsh said: “It was a pleasure to work with pupils from First, Second and Third Year as they explored and discussed their ideas about Human Rights. “The pupils worked hard to create thought-provoking, imaginative poems inspired by the Human Right that mattered the most to them.” W: www.stockportgrammar.co.uk
KSOL’s award-winning online programmes and 11+ CEM & GL Assessment mock exams are guaranteed to provide your child with the best 11+ education. Give yourself the peace of mind that your child is on the right track! T: 0161 327 2003 W: www.ksol.co.uk
