LOCAL NEWS FROM NORTHAMPTONSHIRE
PROTECTING YOUR CHILD FROM WINTER ILLNESSES
It is easier than ever to help protect your child from winter illnesses such as the flu and COVID-19. The flu vaccine is a quick and simple one to have at school and will give your child the protection they need, helping to keep them well and healthy this winter. Last year, less than 50% of school aged children received their flu vaccine, meaning a high proportion of these children were at risk from catching the flu. For most children the flu immunisation is a painless spray up the nose. This will protect your child from catching flu and becoming poorly. COVID-19 boosters are available this autumn for children from six months old if they have an underlying health condition. If your child has been invited for their vaccinations, please protect them as soon as you can. For more information, visit www.nhs.uk/seasonalvaccinations
