Fran Francis lived 5000 years ago, or just a moment ago. Fran Francis was not male or female. Fran Francis was just a person. Fran Francis was not red or yellow, black brown or white. Fran Francis was just a person.
Fran and friends Tyler, Morgan and Erin spent their days havng fun. They were playing, laughing, smiling, climbing trees, paddling in streams, running, skipping, jumping, and just being,. They had only one thing to remember – they must stay away from the yellow line. Nobody could tell them why, they were just told not to go near it.
One day the four friends were playing in the fields as usual BUT Their games had taken them very near to the yellow line and they had not noticed how close it was.
Erin was the closest to the yellow line and suddenly and quite unintentionally crossed over it. The sky turned black, dark clouds grew and lightning streaked across the sky. Before the friends realised what was happening it was too late. Erin had been swallowed up by The System
Next The System got its hands on Morgan and Tyler and before anyone knew what was happening Fran Francis was all alone. Somehow life just didn't seem the same for Fran Francis, wandering through the fields of life that had been so joyful, soon became really glum and didn't have the same joy as before. The System with its grey and black sky and buildings was changing lives as it went about its business, and Fran Francis decided that the only thing to do was to cross the line
As The System continued its relentless march into uniformity the friends became aware of changes within themselves. They gained colour in their skin, their hair and bodies went through huge changes, but worst of all they forgot how to smile and have fun. Tyler became a shopkeeper, Morgan a banker and Erin worked as a secretary in a System office.
Fran Francis spent years looking through The System for the lost friends but all the time never losing sight of the fact that there was another place away from The System that held a different and better life. A place that Fran Francis returned to many ties when life within The System simply became unbearable The System did not like Fran Francis and tried very hard to remove Fran Francis's free spirit. Some folk in The System called Fran a drop out and a hippy.
Eventually Fran Francis met a wise old person who offered to help. “Remember my little friend that there are many stories within a story and as many meanings to those stories as there are stories” “IN THIS LIFE YOU HAVE TO LEARN HOW TO BE, AND TO REMOVE YOURSELF FROM ALL THE STORIES” “I can help you with this” - the old person said.
In return for his help the wise person said that Fran was to be the keeper of a special message. He was to spread the news that an important discovery had been made. Fran agreed and the pair began walking and singing. Soon they arrived at a place close to the edge of The System. The unhappy faces of Morgan, Tyler and Erin greeted Fran as they turned a corner. Fran spoke softly to them saying “my friend here has uncovered a lost and forgotten secret�
