THE 19TH HOLE

THE 19TH HOLE

It’s just a month to go until a host of soapboxes take to Mount Road in Bury St Edmunds so make sure you put this fantastic community event in your diary. Saturday 2nd September will see teams from companies, clubs and organisations, colleagues and friends take the stage to dance for the audience before taking off down the ramp and down the hill to see who can race the winning time. Points are also awarded for the best soapbox, best presentation, and the best fundraiser so it’s a day full of competition as our soapboxers are all keen to lift a trophy.

Here’s all you need to know about the day.

Start time

11am - The Soapbox Parade will commence the start of the event from Soapbox City.

Soapbox City

Based in the grounds of the Priory School, each team will have a ‘parking lot’. You will be able to see the soapboxes up close and personal. There are also additional stalls plus food and drink here. You will also find first aid facilities and toilets.

Parking

We encourage spectators to park at Ram Meadow carpark which is a 10 minute walk away. Please do not park on the residential roads. If you need disabled access, please contact the charity before the day on 01284 713466 or by emailing fundraising@wsh.nhs.uk.

Finally

Spectating

It is free to watch our soapbox event, but we will have volunteers selling flags, programmes and collecting donations on the day. All money raised will go towards providing a family counsellor, offering psychological support to the family members of patients being treated for cancer at the West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust.

Huge thanks go to our main sponsor Treatt plus to our other sponsors, Sealey Tools, Clarkes of Walsham, GT Cleaning Machines, AC Webb, Knights Lowe, Bury Town Council, HALO and, of course, the Priory School. We couldn’t host this event without you.
