It was a bitter-sweet day for fans of big band music at Peninsula Community Theatre last Wednesday when the Victoria Police Showband and Pipe Band entertained members of Mornington Police Senior Community Register for the final time. Three police bands (including Code 1) will disband on 31 December following Chief Commissioner Ken Lay’s decision to return band members to traditional police work.
