Reward points scheme – have you checked your balance?
We launched the Morplan rewards scheme in March, open to all customers making purchases online. The rules are simple, for every pound you spend you earn a point, and every point is worthy a penny.
Six months have passed since the scheme has launched, so if you haven’t already, it’s time to check out your points balance on the website and take advantage of those savings!
To view your balance, simply log in on our website and go to ‘My account’, then click ‘My reward points’.
The rewards scheme is a small way we can give back to you, so don’t forget to use your points!

London GTS store turns 130
Opened in 1894, our London store began its life primarily focusing on stationery and printing. As a thriving fashion district grew up around Great Titchfield Street, so did our fashion design product range. Throughout September you will be able to see a fantastic display at the London store showing Morplan through the ages, as well as enjoy exclusive discounts and in-store activities to celebrate.
New product displays in Birmingham
Nothing beats being able to see a product in use or on display. At our Birmingham site you can discover our gorgeous statement piece: the Teak and Iron Round Display Unit, a large round display unit, with rich wood textures made from reclaimed materials.

Stylish sustainability: recyclable hangers made from recycled materials.
One of the top concerns on almost everyone’s mind, but especially businesses, is how to adopt more sustainable and eco-friendly elements into our everyday lives.
This has had a knock-on effect to the way consumers behave, especially the younger generations, who care more about the ethical, moral and environmental values of the companies they choose to engage with more and more.
This is something that one our Product Managers, Jeff Coulthard, is passionate about, in his hunt for more sustainable options he stated:
“For too long we have all been guilty of 'greenwashing' now is the time to come clean with genuinely eco-friendly products.”
As part of this effort, we have introduced a whole range of recycled and eco-friendly products, including our eco-friendly mannequins over the last few years but what are your options for sustainable hangers?
Recycled fishing nets and ocean plastic: Recycled Ocean Plastic Clothes Hangers
Recycled fishing nets reduce carbon dioxide emissions to achieve a low carbon environment by reducing the pollution of marine ecosystems
caused by marine plastics and offshore farming.
This ocean waste includes deep sea fishing net - gillnet (nylon), mesh net (polypropylene) and net trawl (high density polyethylene). Shipping operation & household garbage discards are also added into the recycled content: plastic packaging, coke bottles and mineral water bottles. Overall, these hangers are made with 80% marine waste recycling and refining 20% wood powder straw. Importantly, at the end of their life-cycle, these hangers are also recyclable.
The nets are also sourced from the fishing vessels themselves, using incentive programmes and drop off points near docks. These nets are sliced up and turned into nylon fibres, which make up our hangers! This is just one of many ways you can know that your choice of hanger has a lower impact on the environment from start to finish.
Bamboo hangers
Of the products we offer at Morplan, an alternative sustainable option for hangers is Bamboo hangers. Hangers made from bamboo are
an alternative to products made from recycled materials, which is still environmentally friendly. Bamboo is a sustainable carbonnegative material that is lowimpact and easy to grow, which has the added benefit of being biodegradable. Bamboo absorbs significant levels of C02 while it grows and is low impact when being processed, so it is a very environmentally friendly material.
Recycled vegetable and bio-waste: Mawa C-Cycle Eco Clothes Hanger
This brand-new range of hangers are made from more than 85% biogenic materials, such as natural fibres, vegetable waste and biopolymers, and earned the DIN-tested mark for sustainable materials.
This is also means that these are produced with a ‘closed CO2-cycle’, as they are made from renewable raw materials and when they are recycled, the only release as much CO2 as they absorb during their growth phase.
Recycled plastic hangers
This is the option you will be most familiar with; these are hangers made from 100% recycled plastic, which are themselves, fully recyclable, again and again!

The images on the right are from a childrens charity store designed and supplied by our Glasgow store and shows the design process. Once the design has been agreed then a 2D layout plan is produced by our store design software.Once you are happy with the design we then go ahead and create a full 360 3D image that enables you to have a look at your new store in 3D. And it’s just not the store design that our experts can give advice on, they will advise you on available lighting, displays, consumables and our printing service to get your brand seen.
