CRAZY LITTLE THING CALLED LOVE
PHOTOGRAPHED BY DAWN CORWIN CREATIVE PHOTOGRAPHY
“I really wanted to embrace The Factory's stunning interior design and the fact that the venue offers the most incredible lighting options. Every designer knows lighting is where the magic happens and I was lucky enough to have Logic Systems help me create the lighting scene for the ceremony and the reception. Even though The Factory is a concert venue as well as an event venue, I knew I didn't want to go with a traditional rock-n-roll look like with records, and leather jackets, etc. I was inspired by the late 1970s rock stars like Mic Jagger and John Lennon. As I was researching and creating design boards, I remember seeing an image of Mic Jagger and Bianca's wedding in 1971 and they both looked so impossibly cool. I picked a velvet tux jacket for Matt, our male model, and chose not to use a tie. For Ashley, I wanted something that owed but it needed sparkle and Mia Grace Bridal provided the perfect dress. I purchased the starburst headband which I think really added to the 70s vibe. I kept the color scheme and oral design soft because I knew the venue's design would provide hard edges. I used light pinks, blush, ivory, sage green, and accented with a deep Merlot red and metallic gold. Decorum provided this amazing backdrop for the ceremony and lounge and I used accents of that design throughout.”
