VOLUNTEERING
Volunteers are a valuable and celebrated part of the Mosman community. Mosman Council has a range of interesting opportunities for people to get involved and make a difference by contributing some of their time to help deliver local services and programs.
Community Care
Social support and visiting: To support older residents who live at home by providing companionship and assisting with grocery shopping, medical visits, walks, or just being there for cup of tea and a chat. Community transport: As an individual transport driver to help residents who need assistance to go to medical appointments or activities, or as a bus assistant for outings and transfers to social lunches at Mosman Square
Seniors Centre. Food services: As a driver or helper for
Mosman Meals or with social lunches Seniors Centre activities: As a group facilitator or assistant for many of our activities.
Environment Management
Bushcare: A program to protect and restore remnant urban bushland that provides habitat for native wildlife. HarbourCare: With groups for adults and teens, HarbourCare volunteers help keep Mosman’s foreshores clean by collecting rubbish and reporting the data back to Council.
VOLUNTEERING
Mosman Library Services
Home Library Service: Delivery and collection of books and CDs for residents who are housebound. Local Studies: Various volunteering opportunities include conducting oral history interviews, researching Mosman sites or buildings, or assisting library users with family history research; as an exhibitions assistant; or in managing archival records.
Mosman Art Gallery
Assistant: Providing general administrative assistance including helping visitors and supervising exhibitions. Guide: Presenting guided tours of current exhibitions. Research: Researching the Mosman Art
