Hästens, a top Swedish brand that has handcra ed “the nest beds” since 1852, has opened the facility in the quaint city of Coimbra. Hästens beds are handmade using only premium sustainable natural materials and techniques handed down through six generations. Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi has opened the doors to a new Aqua Wellness Centre where highlights include a custombuilt hydrotherapy pool, the Maldives’ first-ever wellness concierge, as well as unique spa treatments. The 2,906 square-foot outdoor pool is designed in zones, with each station of the pool targeting a different part of the body. The zones – which include a jet bath, air jets, shower jets, and massage lounger – use varying levels of intensity and water temperature with the aim of easing muscle tension, boosting the immune system, increasing blood circulation, speeding up metabolism and improving deep-sleep quality. Guests can enjoy a specially curated healthy lunch in the garden and a choice of a massage, meditation or yoga session following the pool experience. Alongside the expanded experiential spa menu, Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi regularly invites a diverse range of leading wellness experts to guide guests through holistic and highly customised treatments in private sessions.
