1

Triangle in soccer is very important during playing the game and many consider it as a crucial factor to win the game when compare to lines so, it is a good soccer habit to focus on training that consider this key factor. In this article I give some example which I designed and used during my career. Distribute the players as shown in diagram below 1- Player 1 passes to player 2 who lay out the ball to player 3 2- Player 3 plays to player 1 down the touch line 3- Player 1 sprint to the ball and dribble it to the flank to pass it outside/inside the penalty area 4- Player 4 attacks the ball to score 5- Players 2 & 5 follow the shoot to deal with rebound 6- The triangle in the PA consist of player 4&2&5 7- Player 4 is the head and players 2&5 is the base

Variation 1  To develop the drill the players perform the same movements but the one who attack the ball is player 7 not 4 so the triangle head in the box is player7 and players 2 and 5 are the base.  From time to time allow the front triangle 2&5&3 to attack the cross ball.

Variation 2  To develop the drill the players perform the same movements but the ball attack by two players 7 and 4 at the same time and player 3 attack behind them so the triangle front base in the box is player 7 and 4 and the back head is player 3.  From time to time allow the front triangle 3&2&5 to attack the cross ball.

Variation 3  To develop the drill the ball follow the path from 1 to 5 to 3 then to the flank to player 1 who dribble and crosses to the front triangle which attack the ball to score so it transfer from outside the penalty area to inside where as players 4&7 cover the area outside the penalty area to deal with second ball or with rebounds.

8- It is possible to put a defender to defend the goal at the moment of crossing from flank. Note: The coach controls the distance and the area according to the experience and technical level of the players.

Building the attack from behind *Dr. Mouwafak Majeed Mola Iraqi professional soccer coach The player(s) who comes from behind to attack the opponent goal is more dangerous comparing with the player(s) who is already position forwards and one of my favorite training is a weekly session that gives more than options to those players who penetrate from our field towards opponent’s field which I call them (surprise players)whom appear in surprise moment in opponent penalty area. Option1: 1. Player 2 passes to player 7 2. Player7 passes to central striker9 3. Player 9 lay out the ball in front of central Medfield 8 4. At this moment player 2 sprint all the way to shoot the ball which played by the midfield 8 5. The central striker 9 turns and attack the goal to deal with rebound ball 6. Execute the exercise from both sides

This is my favorite option by execute the same technical manner of the above exercise but at the moment player 9 passes to player 8 Player 3and 11 also player 2 and 7 all run cross at the same time to give player 8 more options and to make their attack unpredictable 2. It is very important to ask the two central midfield payers 4and5 to hold their position to deal with the counter attack by the opponent during a real game(kind of responsibility training)

Figure 7 Option 7 Option7:One of the key coaching factor in this training situation is to direct the central striker from time to time to turn with the 1st ball and attack the opponent goal because this movement is vital during the real game situation and it is a good example to develop the creativity of the striker
