It is geared toward the individual’s capabilities, needs and interests. As hockey players get better and learn to enjoy the game by being a “rink rat,” and basketball players as “gym rats,” so, too, do baseball players gain skill and enjoyment for the game by being “field rats” without a coach or parent structuring it for them. The program offers instruction for those who want it and unstructured activity for others. Take some swings in the batting cages, play catch, throw a pitching bullpen, field some balls, play Home Run Derby, play hotbox, play wiffle ball, or do whatever you want to do to get better and just have fun. The program is flexible and welcomes students to show up on the days they are available.
