Belgium is arguably the most rabid cycling nation in the world. So it’s no surprise that the country that produced Eddy Merckx, the Tour of Flanders and embrocation would also produce some of the best bicycle products. Lazer is the world’s oldest helmet company, having started out making old leather hairnets for Belgian hardmen racing steel bicycles over cobbled farm roads.

ARS® Advanced Rollsys System

The ARS® is a fully integrated system which surrounds the head. By turning a smooth thumb wheel – situated on top of the helmet it permits an accurate and progressive peripheral sizing adjustment. A construction of soft plastic cables symmetrically adjust without creating any pressure points on the head, providing an extremely comfortable and perfect fit. Besides the comfort, the ARS® is also easy to use and only requires 1 finger to tighten the helmet. So you can easily control the fit during riding. Because of the shape of the basket the ARS® also grips the head firmly but allows enough space to be ponytail friendly.

Updating the classic.

The ATS® is a new interpretation of the classic Turnfit® system. We have combined the traditional Turnfit® with the Rollsys® head basket to create an even more effective retention system. A dial at the back of the helmet now controls a basket that grips a large part of back of the head. A quick turn of the ATS® dial makes sure the basket grips the back of the head for a snug yet comfortable fit that keeps the helmet firmly in place.

In 2016 the following helmets will be outfitted with ATS® :

TS+® Turnfit System +

The TS+® system is the baby brother of the ATS®. It provides the same functionality and comfort but in a dressed down package. The system combines the comfortable cradle of the Rollsys® system with the ease of use from the ATS®. The dial at the back controls a basket that grips a large portion of the back of the head. A quick turn of the dial makes sure the basket creates a snug, yet comfortable fit that keeps the helmet where it should be.

ATS Advanced Turnfit System ®

How do you make a great helmet retention system even better? Make it even easier to use. That’s exactly what we did with the new AutoFit® system, exclusively from Lazer. How does it work ? Based on the incredible Rollsys® system, but even easier to operate, the AutoFit® system eliminates any need to manually adjust the helmet retention. As a fully integrated system, totally invisible from the outside of the helmet, the AutoFit® system connects the rear basket and the front

head belt of the retention system and puts a constant and even tension between these two components. To put the helmet on simply pull the rear basket and the head belt away from each other, put the helmet on your head and AutoFit® system will automatically tighten itself around your head for an optimal fit each and every time !

The Lazer Aeroshell® is a plastic cover, designed to fit perfectly over specific models of Lazer helmets. The Lazer Aeroshell® snaps into place and protects the riders head from wind and rain, yet still allows some air movement under the front of the helmet and out of the rear vents. The Lazer Aeroshell® is unique in that it is easily removed from the helmet when riding conditions are such that additional ventilation is desired. Snap it on when the rain is pouring down and pull it off when the sun starts to shine, the Lazer Aeroshell® is the perfect tool for every possible condition.

At Lazer we feel that eyewear and helmets should be a perfect synergy, one complementing the other and working together. Nowhere is this more obvious than with our Magneto eyewear system. Magneto is an award winning and revolutionary sunglasses / helmet interface that offers the user improved comfort and superior fit. Recognizing that traditional sunglasses temples cause trouble for some wearers both in terms of fit, contact with the helmet’s retention system and

added pressure to the side of the head at the contact points. Lazer has eliminated standard temple pieces and replaced them with a clever magnetic attachment system. The revolutionary ultra-short temple pieces of the Magneto’s feature embedded magnets. These allow the sunglasses to attach by a strong and secure magnetic force to the MagClips (rubber-coated metal) that are installed on the forward most helmet straps. The result is a secure fit of the lens on the face but with the ability for adjustment both up and down and forwards and backwards. With Magneto in use there is no possibility for interference of the Rollsys® retention system and the side of the head is left unobstructed to keep cool. The absence of normal sunglasses temples also results in very little pressure on the user’s head which eliminates headaches and fatigue during a long day in the saddle. To improve the usability there is also the option of the Magdocs to store Magneto on the helmet when not wearing it. That way you can clip the eyewear onto the helmet and put them back on when you need them, creating a perfect symbiosis between the helmet and the eyewear.

Lazer continues its reputation in cutting edge innovation by presenting the patented Lazer Aeroshell®.

Additionally the Lazer Aeroshell® provides a significant increase in aerodynamic performance once it is installed on the helmet. By closing off the ventilation holes, the amount of aerodynamic drag the helmet creates is greatly reduced, turning your road helmet into an aero helmet and resulting in a faster ride.

Lazer Aeroshell®

Cyclists who want to monitor and improve their performance cannot ignore their heart rate and other vital functions. Personal heart rate provides a window to an individual’s fitness and athletic ability. Why should you measure your heart rate ? When you keep track of your heart rate during your exercise, you will be able to ensure the safety of your fitness program. Everybody has a range of heart beat which is considered normal, if you go beyond the normal range, you are going beyond the safety parameters of your workout. If this is the case, you should slow down gradually and then take a rest.

Another good reason to record your heart rate during exercise is to gauge your progress. When you monitor your heart rate and it does not go above your normal heart rate range, you will know that you’re not working hard enough. This will help you adjust your workout to ensure that you will get favorable results from it. The most common way of tracking your heart beat is by using a chest strap. Computers, Smartphones, watches and other modern communication tools can all connect to the chest strap to tell you your current heart rate. But what if that chest strap starts to feel annoying, or maybe the strap chafes and irritates you. This can all be solved with the Lazer Lifebeam technology. LifeBEAM is the is the world’s first and only device that can be placed in a cycling helmet to continuously measure the rider’s heart rate, no chest strap needed. The helmet seamlessly pairs to fitness devices and smartphones through ANT+ and Bluetooth 4.0 and displays the rider’s real-time heart rate. This proprietary optical sensor and algorithm were developed, tested, and perfected in the aerospace industry under extreme conditions. As a result, LifeBEAM technology is completely motion resistant, so it can be used on any terrain, even the most intense MTB trails. The LifeBEAM device is also truly all-weather, performing well in any condition such as rain, humidity, and extreme hot and cold climates.

MIPS

Why is this important ?

An extra dimension of safety. MIPS or Multi-directional Impact Protection System adds an additional safety aspect to the helmet. It outfits a standard helmet with a low friction layer to reduce rotational acceleration in case of a crash. This way the helmet with the MIPS system imitates the brain’s own protection system.

How it works. The shell and liner of the helmet are separated by a low friction layer. This means the shell of the helmet can move relative to the liner. In case of a crash the low friction layer will help to absorb a part of the impact and thereby reduce the rotational forces to the head.

Most bicycle crashes are oblique (occur at an angle), these kinds of impacts create rotational violence to the brain, which in turn can cause the most severe brain damage. The MIPS system imitates the natural protective properties of the human brain and gives proven reduction of rotational forces. It doesn’t interfere with helmets existing protective properties – it only adds protection to the most common type of impacts and against the most severe types of brain injuries. Lazer has developed this technology in collaboration with some of the largest universities in Sweden and has tested its efficiency with computer models and real life testing, so you don’t have to.

Riding in the dusk ? Stayed out on a bike ride a little too late ? Forgot to bring your lights with you ? Whatever the situation, it is important to be seen by other road users. So you better make sure there is a way you can be spotted.

At Lazer safety is our major concern, that’s why we have added fluo colors, reflective material and integrated lights to our helmets throughout the range. Your helmet is the highest and most visible point for other road users, so making sure that stands out is the best way to attract attention.

In that regard we have outfitted our road, MTB, urban and even kids helmets with additional ways to be seen. In some helmets we have incorporated LED lights, reflective stickers,… and much more. Almost every model has a high visibility flash option which is non fading and unique to Lazer. In the Street JR we have even incorporated the reflective stickers in the overall design for a totally different helmet effect when it gets dark. Whatever the conditions, make sure you are seen, with a Lazer helmet.

Enter high visibility colors, integrated lights and reflective material…

The game changer. A coffee or beer after a long ride is the perfect way to relax and discuss your performance or the events of that day with your buddies. But where do you leave that helmet ?! You can lay it on the table, hang it on your bike or even keep it on your head, but none of those solutions are really ideal. And how do you secure your bike without carrying a lock everywhere you ride ?

You want to store your helmet somewhere and not have to look over your shoulder every five minutes to check if your bike is still there. Wouldn’t it be great if there was a way to store your helmet and secure your bike safely at the same time ?!

Cappuccinolock

That problem is now solved with the arrival of the Cappuccinolock. The Cappuccinolock is a revolutionary way to secure your bike using only your helmet straps. Slide the male part of your buckle into the Cappuccinolock on one side and connect the female part of your buckle on the other side. Twist the numbers to ensure the locking mechanism can’t open and relax while you have your coffee.

Locking the Cappuccinolock 1. Remove the sticker with your personal code from the Cappuccinolock. 2. Remove the protection cap and keep it with you. 3. Slide the male part of the helmet buckle into the female part of the Cappuccinolock. 4. Turn the digit wheels so the correct code to unlock the lock is formed. 5. Arrange the position of the helmet and Cappuccinolock so that you can safely secure your bicycle (or other object you wish to lock) to an object. 6. Attach the female part of the helmet buckle to the locking pins of the Cappuccinolock. 7. Turn the digit wheels until a code is formed that is different from the code needed to unlock the Cappuccinolock.

Lazer Aquavent with Perfopad

Coolmax® fabric is the performance fabric that includes an effective fiber-based moisture management system. The system can move perspiration away from the body, and through the fabric, where it can evaporate quickly, allowing the wearer to feel cooler and more comfortable.

The adjustable head basket allows the back part of the Rollsys® system (that grips the back of the head) to move up and down depending on the riders preference. This way the Rollsys® system can be adjusted even more to individual rider needs and can create even more comfort.

This is a new innovation from Lazer. This is a padding that is created from a water based gel that creates a very cool feeling when it makes contact with the skin. Additionally this padding drives your sweat to the side of your face so it wouldn’t run into your eyes.

The Lazer Aquavent is a ventilation port on the top surface of the helmet. You can use your bottle to deliver water into the Lazer Aquavent to help reduce overheating. Special perforated EVA padding and EVS channeling allows the water to filter down and around the head. Optimal water and air flow over the head provides for maximum cooling and riding efficiency.

Magic Buckle The Magic buckle allows riders to quickly close or open the buckle connecting the two straps. With one hand the rider just pushes it open or closes it by bringing the male and female part close together, magnetic forces do the rest. Thanks to this solution the hassle of opening or closing your buckle is now a problem of the past. Even in winter when wearing gloves, riders can easily open and close the buckle without any difficulties. It will also prevent skin from getting in between the lock which is very handy for the under 10 riders.

RBS Rigidity Brace System : reinforcements for a superior helmet resistance against multi impacts. This system is comparable with a roll cage in a racecar, in case of a crash this will keep the cracked EPS pieces together so the helmet still offers some form of protection. This system does not guarantee the effectiveness of a helmet after a crash, every helmet needs to be inspected carefully after a crash and in case of dents or cracks it should be replaced.

Coolmax®

DLA (Dual Layer Aerodynamics) The Tardiz is the first TT / Triathlon helmet with multiple surface treatments for optimal aerodynamics. The helmet exists out of 2 parts : a front glossy surface and a back matte dimpled surface. The front smooth glossy surface provides the best possible airflow and the least resistance in the area where the helmet first makes contact with the air. Front vents allow the air to flow through the front part of the helmet and around the head to keep the rider cool. This heated air escapes out of the back vents where the air gets trapped on the matte dimpled surface. This low pressure area helps to pull the cooler air over the front smooth glossy surface of the helmet. At speed the helmet will actually help pull itself through the air.

Rental padding EVA padding is a solution designed with rental in mind. The padding does not absorb sweat like normal paddings do. The advantage of this is that the pads are easily removed and cleaned so they can be used another time.

The Lazer Inclination Sensor is the ultimate training tool to make you faster. It will keep you in your most aerodynamic position so you can cheat the wind and be as fast as you can be. Why? Amateur riders, weekend warriors, seasoned professionals,… everybody is affected by fatigue during a ride, and the change in body posture it brings along with it. During a time trial or triathlon bike leg, this results is a less aerodynamic position on the bike and thus a slower ride. But how do you notice this change in body posture? Well, you couldn’t up to now. But that has all changed with the arrival of the Lazer Inclination Sensor.

What? The Lazer Inclination Sensor is a body posture monitor that allows you to track your aerodynamic cycling posture in real time.

The monitor tracks your head and helmet position and provides you with tactile or acoustic feedback when you are out of your optimal aerodynamic position.

Inclination Sensor

Before using the monitor it should be calibrated towards your optimal aerodynamic cycling position. For the best result the calibration should take place in a wind tunnel with the help of aerodynamic experts. But it works just as well when you visit a training center or shop with experienced professionals to help you find that ideal aero position.

“Your ultimate training tool”

The monitor aims at making you aware of your head position while riding, and guiding you towards that sweet spot where you cheat the wind as best as possible.

How? The Lazer Inclination Sensor has a specific mounting position for each type of helmet where it can be used. This is always at the back of the helmet so it doesn’t hinder the airflow. The sensor is mounted on a specific holder to keep it safe. The holder and sensor can then be mounted into the helmet by using preinstalled snap baskets. If you have an older helmet but still want to use the Lazer Inclination Sensor you can use Velcro tape provided in the package to attach the holder into the helmet.

The Lazer Inclination Sensor comes with specific software that you can download from our website (www.lazersport.com/inclination_sensor). The sensor is both MAC and PC compatible, and will be recognized by your computer as a mass storage device. After connecting the sensor, you can launch the .exe file to start up the software.

In the software you can either choose to set your personal settings based on your helmet type, choose your preferred deviation (in degrees) or change the type of feedback you want to get. Furthermore the software allows you to load previously stored calibrations also, so you don’t have to reset the sensor for every use.

Accessories Multicap with 2 Multimounts The Multicap is an accessory to make it easy to combine your Oasiz helmet with GoPro camera or other accessory. Just slide your GoPro camera onto the Multicap or install one of the two Multimounts and you’re good to go. The Multimounts act like a handlebar, so you can mount everything you would usually mount on the handlebars directly onto the helmet. Use it to install lights or anything else you can think of.

Crazy Nutshell

Wintercap

The insectmesh padding replaces the original helmet padding and covers the ventilation holes so insects cannot reach your head. This keeps insects out of the helmets for a stress-free ride.

Lazer keeps you going all year round. Riding doesn’t have to stop when winter season starts. With the Lazer winter accessories you can adjust your helmet to keep you warm whatever the temperature outside is. For certain Lazer models there is a winter liner that fits inside the helmet (replacing the standard padding). This winter liner wraps around the head and covers the ears for a beanie – like feeling. Helmet Pod A hard case to protect your helmet when travelling. Each pod can hold one helmet and will protect the helmet from scratching and denting during your travels.

Rollsys® Taillight This LED light comes standard on some models but is an option for almost all helmets equipped with the Rollsys® system. Simply replace the Rollsys® cap with the updated version and put the LED light in the Rollsys® thumbwheel. The LED light provides increased visibility and therefore added safety.

The Crazy Nutshell is a snap on cover designed to fit over the P’Nut and Nut’Z helmets. Besides protecting children from rain, snow and dirt it also makes it possible to quickly change the look of the helmet.
