Salire, soffrire, sorridere e faticare fanno parte dello stesso gioco, provo a cercare un’alleanza con la strada ma non c’è verso di addolcirla. Allora vedremo chi vincerà. When I ride my bicycle, I take charge of my soul once more. The road rises and my spirits rise too. Climbing, suffering, smiling and toiling are all part of the same game. I try to create an alliance with the road but it will not be tamed. We’ll see who comes out on top.

Il Giro è passato ad Asolo, nelle nostre terre. Vi raccontiamo le emozioni che abbiamo provato. The “Giro” came our way, it passed right through Asolo, the place we call home. We cannot start to describe the effect this had on us.

L’undicesima tappa dell’edizione numero novantanove del Giro D’Italia si è conclusa ad Asolo, proprio a due passi dalla nostra sede. È stata l’occasione giusta per vivere in pieno la straordinaria atmosfera che solo un evento così magico può generare nell’animo degli appassionati. Selle Italia, indiscusso punto di riferimento del settore, intreccia la sua storia con quella del Giro da ormai vent’anni. Una storia intensa, scandita dai nomi più illustri, dai protagonisti più gloriosi: imprese destinate a rimanere nella memoria collettiva, eternamente. Proprio in virtù di questo destino comune, la tappa di Asolo non poteva che trasformarsi in un omaggio alla nostra azienda, il salotto più ambito per chiunque abbia vissuto le emozioni dell’arrivo. The eleventh stage of the ninety-ninth edition of the Giro D’Italia culminated at Asolo, a stone’s throw from our headquarters. It provided us with the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the magical atmosphere created by such an extraordinary event, a priceless occasion that only cycling enthusiasts can understand. Selle Italia is a benchmark for excellence in the cycling sector and it has been intrinsically linked to the Giro for twenty years now. A shared heritage rich in events and peppered with illustrious names and glorious feats: achievements seared in the memory of onlookers and cycling lovers for eternity. In view of this intertwined destiny, the fact that the Giro stopped at Asolo could have been nothing but a tribute to our company which ended up being a coveted rendezvous for anyone who experienced the exhilaration of the finishing line.

Abbiamo aperto le nostre porte al pubblico, che ha osservato da vicino i piccoli capolavori, testimonianze di un passato prestigioso, conservati all’interno del nostro showroom. Abbiamo avuto l’onore di accogliere diverse autorità politiche locali e nazionali, oltre ad importanti nomi del mondo del ciclismo, compresi i teams professionistici reduci dalla fatica di tappa appena conclusa. Brindare con le squadre con cui condividiamo ogni anno gioie e dolori, stringere la mano ai corridori, dare un volto umano agli atleti per cui con la solita immancabile dedizione progettiamo le nostre selle: sensazioni irripetibili, per chi come noi fa dell’entusiasmo la propria regola di vita.
We took the chance to show our new products to the sales force and to the international press and broached topics close to our heart such as cycling safety with our friends. Thus, our doors swung open to the public who were given a privileged glimpse of miniature masterpieces, artefacts of a golden past lovingly preserved inside our showroom. We had the honour of welcoming several local and Italian political dignitaries as well as distinguished names from the world of cycling, including members of professional teams who had just crossed the line of the latest stage. It was an indescribable emotion to drink a toast to the teams with whom we share joys and sorrows every year, to shake the racers’ hands and put a face to the athletes on whose behalf we pour our best energies into saddle designs: unforgettable moments for people like us whose lives rotate around a love for cycling.
