VISIBILITY Visibly safe in the city. With the new uvex city light.
A battery level indicator is located at the back of the helmet. The built-in rechargeable battery recharges via micro USB and lasts 6 to 12 hours.
Travel safely through the city at dusk and at night with the city helmet uvex city light. The helmet’s intelligent lighting system significantly increases visibility in road traffic. This makes the uvex city light a great companion in the city.

The battery level indicator’s LED is also a plug-in LED light.
LED chains built into the front and back of the helmet are simple to activate – at the touch of a button. Blue LEDs attract more attention than white and are more energy efficient – for a longer battery life. When switched off, the uvex city light appears as a simple, sporty city bike helmet – the LED chains are not visible. The LED chains are integrated between the EPS inner and outer shell. This makes them particularly durable and water-resistant to Standard IP44. Even with its LEDs, built-in battery, and plug-in LED light, this helmet remains a real lightweight. The eye-catching LEDs at eye level provide optimized visibility in every situation – especially when turning right: the greatest source of danger on the road.

During the “drop test” a crash is simulated. The helmet is dropped onto an anvil from a height of at least 113 cm, reaching a speed of up to 19.51 km/h.

At their training camp in Lanzarote, the athletes had a prototype helmet from the start. The perfect opportunity for extensive testing and preparation for the new triathlon season. Rider feedback helped the uvex team finalize their development.

CFD (computational fluid dynamic) analysis of the new uvex race 8 shows: the performance of the aerodynamically optimal synergy between ventilation and air resistance. Turbulence is effectively discharged and flows straight out from the back of the head, over the back of the body.
The new uvex race 8 timetrial helmet has a shortened drop shape and is the perfect combination of ventilation and aerodynamic performance. Extensive tests, analyses of modern riding positions, 3D body scans, and aerodynamics simulation using CFD helped uvex created prototypes and optimize the helmet. The front ventilation opening was placed in the area of maximum dynamic pressure. Air is made to flow around and through the helmet, which minimizes air resistance.
