WARNING: In the risk range, a strong sensation of cold must be expected. There is a risk of health damage by hypotermia.

Deﬁnition of comfort and extreme values

Comfort temperature

This is the temperature level (referred to a standard woman) at which it is possible to sleep all night in a relaxed position.

Lower comfort limit

Is the minimum temperature (referred to a standard adult man at which it is possible to sleep in a curled up position, without waking, for eight hours.

Extreme temperature

This is the minimum temperature at which the sleeping bag protects the user (standard adult woman) against hypothermia. It allows six hours of uncomfortable sleep without the internal temperature dropping to a dangerous level.

When you choose your sleeping bag, we suggest that you consider comfort and intermediate temperatures, according to your level of physical fitness. When we feel hot or cold, it is caused by our body producing greater or smaller amounts of heat compared to what we are losing to the surrounding environment.

The CNSAS (National Alpine and Cave Rescue Corps) was founded on 12 December 1954, but its roots go back all the way to the spirit of solidarity that is so natural to people from the mountains. Time in the mountains and the birth of so many sports and extreme activities have meant that alpine rescue has had to develop, becoming the all-round, organised body that is the CNSAS. A capillary network covers the whole country and is comprised of some 7,000 operators, forming a team of top-level professionals who have been working actively with Ferrino in the quest for increasingly innovative technical solutions since 1998.

The ENSA (École Nationale de Ski et d’Alpinisme) was founded in France in 1946. It is a public body, under the patronage of the Ministry for Youth and Sport. The materials used to make our snowshoes have been carefully selected to guarantee the best possible strength and light weight, while leaving characteristics unchanged, even at low temperatures (-20 °C).

The bindings are in HD polypropylene, while the mounts are in PA66 polyamide. All snowshoe parts have the highest possible level of UV resistance.

Based on its technical features, each snowshoe has its own specific intended use, which we can sum up as 3 types:

The Ferrino Warranty

Every Ferrino article is studied down to the smallest detail and made with the most suitable materials for its intended use. The strict "Ferrino Quality" controls guarantee a product free from defects in materials and packaging.

If these types of defects are found, you can use the warranty which is valid for 2 years from the time of purchase of the product.

For High Lab products, the warranty is valid for 3 years.

Please note: The warranty does not cover defects caused by improper use or due to normal wear and tear of the components following prolonged use.In the case of a product purchased from a Ferrino retailer, the purchaser must return the defective item to the point of sale where he/she made the purchase together with the receipt (condition of validity of the warranty). The retailer will inform the distributor or Ferrino directly of the claim.

Ferrino will, at its discretion, request the return of the product, replace it or repair it. If the defect turns out not to be covered by the warranty, Ferrino will propose a cost estimate including shipping costs

In the case of a product purchased from our online shop, the item can be returned, in the event of a defect or problem, directly to the Ferrino after-sales service. For some time now, Ferrino has required its suppliers to underwrite a commitment to operate according to principles of mutual trust and absolute respect for human rights and protection of the working environment.

Supplier selection

Ferrino carefully selects its suppliers and evaluates them on the basis of whether they meet the necessary technical, organizational, and safety requirements. Each Ferrino supplier is obliged to report and comply with the product quality plans that provide all the information and compliance and quality requirements requested.

Thanks to a constantly updated system of indicators and evaluations, a ranking is established for the selection of suppliers.

All suppliers are required to sign the Safety Plan, a document that sets out the safety requirements of all materials used, including compliance with REACH, the European regulation governing the use of chemicals in finished products. As we also want to ensure that our suppliers respect our corporate values, we give preference to those with high environmental and social standards, certified by internationally recognised bodies. To date, 96% of our purchases come from product suppliers with at least one certification.

The company has recently re-launched a special programme to prevent the use of any labour under the age of 15, in compliance with the International Labour Organisation Convention no. 138.

If we consider the volume of purchases from certified product suppliers in the Ferrino product portfolio, we can see, in detail, that 56% of these have Environmental, Social, and Qualitative certifications, 22% have Social certifications, 15% have Environmental certifications, and 7% have only Qualitative certifications.

Another category of strategic suppliers are Value Brand Suppliers, indirect suppliers of high-quality raw materials and components that enable the production of a product with excellent technical performance.

For this category of suppliers too, it is essential that, in addition to their undisputed technical and quality characteristics, they guarantee high environmental and social standards. For this reason, 100% of the raw material suppliers we select have one or more environmental or social certifications.
