MOUNTAINWARE Following their entrance into the technical clothing sector, La Sportiva had a clear objective: to supply mountaineers with everything they need for their outdoor activities - from technical outdoor boots to specialist clothing and equipment. In a word: MOUNTAINWARE. This concept perfectly sums up the beauty of the La Sportiva collection which comprises both footwear and apparel. It encompasses both aspects of the company’s product range: “FAST” for those who want to move through the mountains with speed; and “UP” which represents verticality and the age-old tradition derived from the world of mountaineering and free climbing.

IN THE MOUNTAINS If you look at old mountaineering photos you will see that the first modern mountaineers and free climbers wore products originally made in our Val di Fiemme workshop, and later in our factory. For over 85 years the focus has been on verticality in all its forms: from free climbing to high altitude mountaineering, from indoor bouldering to ice climbing. Climbing is an instinct (climbing instinct), a vocation (vertical mind) and a romantic objective (climbing on the moon). It is part of our history. It is what we are all about. Climbing is the concept that we have tried to concentrate on in our first line technical climbing apparel. Colours, sizes, prints and technical solutions all pay tribute to our history and to a passion which, for us, is more than just a sport but a way of life. The climbing apparel collection represents a totally new chapter in our company’s history but we invite you to discover also the new washable indoor climbing shoes developed specifically for those who prefer to climb indoors, and the state of the art production levels reached with the new ultra-light NEPAL and TRANGO models.
