Greenland: the trip to the Big Wall was one of a kind. The whole trip was a dream come true. Or maybe I should say it was like being in a dream. I'm still not sure.
roger schäli: "All those trials and tribulations were like in a dream: the logistics, the long distances, polar bears, collapsing icebergs, inflatable boats, luggage and most of all, the constant uncertainty about what was coming next. Somehow we got through every challenge and made it. We set off by inflatable boat from Constable Point and navigated 150 km eastward through icebergs, from where we could already see the distinctive pinnacle. We set up our base camp there and then made the 2-hour trek on foot as far as the base of the Big Wall on Grundtvigskirken, each of us carrying 35kg of luggage."

Ice below us, surrounding us and on the summits. Not a single human far and wide; just the everpresent sun. It was like in a dream. What was so captivating about this wall was not the climbing itself, but all the challenges of such an expedition to remote Greenland. Big Wall at its best."
