TRILOBITEX ®

A world’s unique performance material by Trilobite® called TRILOBITEX® represents an innovative breakthrough technology in the world of motorcycle jeans protection.

TRILOBITEX® material is especially designed for motorcycle garment. In its 4-layer sandwich construction it combines basic features which are important for every rider – Safety, Abrasion resistance, Breathability, Comfort, Waterproofness.

The four layers are directly laminated which ensures effective product dimensions and gives the jeans civil and ergonomic look.

Trilobite Premium Aramid Fashion® as the first in the world introduced abrasion resistant, protective waterproof jeans. Those who wear denim when riding a bike also want to travel dry and safe. All of this you can have with our denim range made of technologically advanced TRILOBITEX® material developed exclusively for motorcycle riders.

Membranes will assure unrivalled drainage of moisture away from your skin to the outside environment and still keep a sufficient value of the water column and 100% windproof features.

TRI-STRETCHER ®

material

A completely new composition in a mix of DYNEEMA® Elastane, Polyester, Nylon and Cotton. Despite its great lightness, breathability, and flexibility, this newly mixed denim has a high level of abrasion resistance and strength.

Dyneema® Denim, in majority, is a mix of Polyethylene fiber with Cotton. Dyneema® yarn is based on a Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) which is manufactured using a special spinning process resulting in a fiber that has an extreme high crystallinity with following properties:

EXTREMEHIGHTENSILESTRENGTH Depending on the Dyneema® content in the denim, it is extremely difficult to tear or break the fabric. It is claimed to be 15 times as strong as steel.

HIGHCUTRESISTANCE - Denim that contains more than 5 10% Dyneema® will have noticeably higher cut resistance compared to regular fabrics.

ABRASIONRESISTANCE Using half the amount of Dyneema® improves the abrasion resistance of a single-layer motorcycle denim with aramid by 70%. The like-for-like improvement is 300%.

CHEMICALLYINERT Even though Dyneema® itself is chemically inert and therefore resists almost all types of chemicals, it is not recommended to bleach, nor dry-clean denim with Dyneema® to prevent quality issues related to the Cotton fiber in the denim.

HEATSENSITIVE Dyneema® has a melting temperature of 140 - 144°C and therefore any exposure to temperatures higher than 130°C, even for short periods (seconds) should be avoided. Hence the recommendation to iron at max 110°C / 230°F and tumble dry at low temperatures.

Tri-Force® is made by assembling cotton fiber with UHMWPE fiber (Cotton, UHMWPE, Elasto Multi-Ester, Elastane). This exclusive technology produces genuine denim with a core framework that gives it the mechanical qualities of leather.

Tri-Force® is resistant to abrasion, snagging and tearing, and provides exceptional comfort in all seasons. The great thing is that the technology is integrated directly into the fabric and not used as a lining for garment.

It is the only textile capable of protecting against abrasion (including as defined in the motorcycle standard 13595-2) with a single layer of fabric, while still providing the comfort and look of real jeans. Tri-Force® is composite fabric, but it is also flexible, soft, absorbant and breathable.

TRI-COMF ®

PROTECTION / COMFORT / TEMPERATURE CONTROL

The newly developed TRI-COMF® fiber has an advantage of obtaining the highest ratio of safety and maximum comfort. This textile 3-component composition is adapted and developed so that its aramid part Kevlar by Dupont® protects against abrasion after falling from a motorcycle, and thus provides maximum body protection. The second part of this fiber is a flexible element Lycra, guaranteeing the greatest comfort in every movement on the motorcycle and beyond. At the bottom of the TRI-COMF® fabric, which faces the body, is the third and final component of Coolmax® a hydrophobic material that, thanks to its ability to wick moisture, increases the thermal regulation of your body - thus prevents from sweating.

TRI-BASE ®

material

TRI-BASE® is a material which combines DupontTM by progressive Kevlar® trechnology, Protex-M fibers, Cotton and Lycra® Thanks to this composition of materials, strength, flame retardancy, heat resistance and comfort are achieved.

Special fibers of Protex-M inside TRI-BASE® fabric prevent the flame spread and the ability to stop combustion. When the flame source is removed Protex-M has a selfextinguishing nature by which combustion stops immediately. When thermoplastic fibers such as polyester and nylon melt, they produce hazardous high-temperature droplets that could cause severe burns to the skin. Protex-M melt-resistance and carbonization attribute not only to extinguishing the fire but also play an important role in preventing secondary injuries.

Protex is a high performance inherently flame retardant self-extinguishing fiber. Its advanced FR properties when blended with non-FR fibers improve their overall performance.

Key advantages of this Protex-M material are:

- INHERENTLYFLAMERETARDANT Protex-M is inherently flame retardant product in which the fiber resin itself contains the flame retardant ingredient. When the flame source is removed fiber has a self-extinguishing nature by which combustion stops immediately. Unlike FR treatments, there is no deterioration in flame retardanacy after repeated washing or normal use over time.

- MELTRESISTANT using of Protex-M fibre stops the spread of the fire and extinguishes it with the char barrier which forms when the flame source appears is removed. Unlike other thermoplastic fibers, such as polyester, Protex does not melt or form droplets that could stick to skin and cause injury.

- HIGHLYBLENDABLE - the superior properties of Protex-M allow for blending with flammable fibers in various combinations to achieve a high level of FR performance.

- EASYPROCESSING Protex-M can be blended with other fibers for blending or in various fabric combinations. In most cases it can be processed under the same conditions as conventional acrylic fiber.

- SOFTANDLIGHT Protex-M is light, warm, soft and flexible due to its unique fiber form.

PROTECTIVE LINING

DuPont™ KEVLAR® is an organic fibre in the aromatic polyamide (aramid) family. The chemical structure of para-aramids distinguishes them from other commercial manmade and natural fibers and gives KEVLAR® its unique properties. In this collection Trilobite came to the market with products, which contain either Recycled Polyester or Recycled Cotton. Using recycled cotton helps to reduce the use of virgin Cotton, and thus the significant water, CO2 and other impacts from cotton farming. The pre-consumer Cotton from industry and post-consumer Cotton from discarded clothes goes to grinding process and then raw material is made again. After that, the raw material is processed into yarn and the yarn is turned into recycled Cotton.

Besides recycled Cotton, Trilobite® also uses recycled Polyester. By integrading 100% recycled polyester fabrics in garments Trilobite® is keeping bottles and other plastics out of the ocean. By taking 70 bottles out of the ocean we get 1 kg of recycled polyester. 14 bottles collected from the ocean to be used during the production of 1 Trilobite jacket for the lining. Besides, we help to save also the energ because the energy consumption during the production of recycled Polyester is less than what is needed to produce the virgin Polyester. In particular, it takes up to 53% less energy.

TRI-TEX® is a microporous Polyurethane coated membrane with pores of different sizes. TRI-TEX® membrane is waterproof, breathable, and windproof. The waterproofness of the membrane is measured on the basis of the water column under the pressure of which the material starts to allow water through it. TRI-TEX® is able to hold up to 10 000 mm water column.

The breathability of the membrane means to what extent the membrane is able to let the body moisture vapor through. Thus, this ability reduces overheating and moisture retention under the membrane layer. Measured in g/cm2/24h TRI-TEX® membrane reaches the value of 10 000 g.

WATERPROOF - TRI-TEX® membrane is waterproof. It protects rider's body from the rain and water drops. Thanks to this membrane you will stay dry and fell comfortable.

BREATHABLE TRI-TEX® is a breathable membrane. It allows the body moisture to evaporate and lets through to the outside of the garment. Thus, the rider stays dry and feels still comfortable.

The concept of Wax Cotton was originally developed in the early 15th century by sailors in England and Scotland. Over the centuries it became very popular for the great performance. Waxed Cotton requires only minimal care to maintain its appearance and can go years without having to be washed. The sprayed wax on top cotton layer formula is non-toxic and non-hazardous. It performs great in both hot and cold temperatures. The refined wax finish provides an additional layer of protection from rain, moisture and time. Waxed canvas has a long lifespan behaving much like leather. Trilobite® Premium Aramid Fashion uses the best Waxed Cotton on the market to increase the product lifespan and performance.

It concerns hydrophobic treatment of textile materials, knittings and other fabrics. On the surface there is a thin layer of nanoparticles and this way an extremely water and oil repellent surface is created. All Trilobite waterproof riding apparel is hydrophobically treated which gives the products additional waterproof properties. The principle of hydrophobic treatment is that every single fiber is covered with a thin layer of nanoparticles. The result is an extremely high level of hydrophobic features which gives no chance to liquids to stick to the surface of the material thus soil or even damage the fabric.

Safety regulations are more strict these days then ever. Nowadays riders are more and more focusing on their safety. That is why we have been testing our jeans according to latest EU standards to bring you maximum safety level. New EU standard EN 17092:2020 brings new test methods which can much better simulate real crash and abrasion resistance when falling down on the road. Below you can see the explanation of each level and abrasion resistance time it has while sliding on the road. There are three different levels A AA - AAA. By these levels we are able to split the garments for different type of usage in accordance to abrasion resistance. For most risky riding we are developing garments with abrasion resistance reaching Level AAA which can provide most efective safety features in case of crash. Eventrough, level AA garments are graded lower, level AA is still very effective in performance. Level A garments are developed for lower risks.

Our products are equiped with removable CE level 2 certified protectors. This high-quality soft foam protectors offer excellent safety functions when riding a motorcycle. Protectors will guarantee maximum impact protection.
