It’s my privilege, as chair of the Advancement Committee for the Mount Saint Mary College Board of Trustees, to provide to you with the college’s 2020-2021 Donor Impact Report.

It’s your kindness, generosity, and determination that helps to ensure a bright future for the college. I hope you will take a few minutes to learn more about how your investments in our students are paying great dividends now and setting the stage for the next generation of talented youth to succeed at Mount Saint Mary College.

This report, and all of the names listed in it, represent thoughtful and meaningful gifts for positive, sustained growth at the college. In the past year, twelve scholarships have been established by generous benefactors.

As a Trustee, I am exposed to many college stats and figures, but few resonate so deeply as these:

• 88% of our current students rely on a combination of government aid, college aid, and donor funded scholarships in order to attend the Mount

• 36% of our current students are first generation college students

• 45% of the college’s annual operating budget (about $21 million) is allocated for college aid

Upon hearing these stats, my wife, Tina, and I knew that we needed to do more. We are honored to be among those who developed a scholarship at Mount Saint Mary College. By establishing the Focused Wealth Management Scholarship, our hope is to provide an opportunity for

members of a younger generation to contribute, through their studies of entrepreneurialism in business and capitalism, to the momentum of thriving, small businesses in Newburgh, which have begun to reestablish the city as the powerhouse it once was.

I applaud everyone at the Mount for their steadfast dedication to our Dominican heritage and values, even when facing uncertainty. I encourage you to read the powerful stories and personal quotes of how scholarships impact our community. The selflessness demonstrated here is what makes us more than just a college – we are a family, and we will always stand for what is right.

Prior to my son applying to the Mount, I must admit that I knew very little about the college. He had several opportunities to play baseball and attend other schools, but after visiting for the weekend in the fall of 2013 he was convinced the Mount was the place he wanted to spend the next four years. Having witnessed his growth as an individual, a student and an athlete it became apparent that the Mount was a special place, which has led me to be a donor and now a member of the Advancement Committee to help further the College’s mission.

As an alum, I am very proud of my 45 year connection to the Mount. Having graduated in 1982 with a BS in Business Management and Administration, I was well prepared for my career.  As a local business owner, we proudly serve our clients in the Mount’s Judeo Christian tradition, with integrity and honesty. My wife, Elizabeth and daughters Caterina and Mira, and I relocated to the City of Newburgh in 1999. We fell in love Orange County and are proud homeowners in the City of Newburgh. I am passionate about youth development and a committed community volunteer. Mount Saint Mary College is a critical anchor institution here in the City of Newburgh. As a resident and active stakeholder, I want to help the Mount and our students flourish and continue to be vibrant contributors to our community. I chose to attend the Mount without ever stepping on the grounds. It just felt right and this choice has truly been a blessing in my life. So much so, that when I was choosing where to attend for my Master's, I returned there. Mount Saint Mary College gave me a strong sense of service, mission, commitment, and the desire to give back in any way possible. As a double alumna, a Dominican Sister, and now a member of the Board of Trustees I continue to be blessed. A standing committee of the college’s Board of Trustees, members promote a culture of philanthropy throughout the college community, the Hudson Valley, and beyond; serve as advocates of the college; ensure new individuals with interest and capacity are engaged with the college in meaningful ways; and make financial donations to the college.

My experience of Mount Saint Mary College through the years has been like unwrapping a GIFT – one that keeps on giving!

I graduated from the Mount in 1971. Those four years gave me an excellent education, career skills, lasting friendships with classmates, faculty, and staff, and deep gratitude for the beliefs and values that I cherish and share. Now, as an alumna, a Dominican Sister, and member of the Board of Trustees, I am delighted to offer my time, talents, and treasure so that others will have the opportunity to discover and unwrap such a GIFT!

I am delighted to continue my family's support for Mount Saint Mary College. Growing up in Newburgh, I have been aware of the college and its impor-tance, however it was only after my  father’s participation on the Board of Trustees that I understood how much our community is enhanced by having a world class educational institute right in our downtown.  The college’s support of culturally important organizations such as the Greater Newburgh Symphony Orchestra further confirm Newburgh's good fortune to have Mount Saint Mary College in residence.

Born and raised in Newburgh, my connection to the Mount began years ago. I graduated from Mount Saint Mary Academy and years later returned to earn an MBA from MSMC.  Both of my daughters graduated from Bishop Dunn Memorial School. The lessons learned, experiences, and friendships through my association with the Mount family, friends, and faculty continue to shape who I am.  It's an honor to be part of the President’s Advisory Council, adjunct faculty, and Advancement Committee.  I am excited for the future of the Mount and proud to continue my support.

I was asked by Sister Ann Sakac to join the Board of Trustees, where I honorably served for nine years.  I became a member of the Executive Committee, chaired the Advancement Committee, and have enjoyed chairing the MSMC Golf and Tennis Tournament for over 10 years.  My experience at the Mount has been rewarding in ways I never anticipated, making many friends along the way that I will always cherish.  My experience also empowers me to support the continued growth of MSMC, and the vital role MSMC has in our community.

The years I spent at Mount Saint Mary College were among the best in my life. From the moment I arrived, I knew it was (and remains) a special place.  Friends, faculty, and administration had a major influence in shaping the man I am today.  My days there were fun, challenging, and eye opening and gave me perspective that I didn’t have before. Above all else, I met Mary Hill (class of 1990) there...we’ve been married for 25 years. It is for those reasons and more that I try to stay as involved with MSMC as possible 30 years after my graduation. I feel a debt of gratitude and it’s my pleasure to try and repay it in some small way.

Donor Scholarships

How they work, who they benefit, and how to start one

As the average student loan debt continues to rise, Mount Saint Mary College is committed to providing an affordable education that is accessible to all. One essential way the Mount is supported in this effort is through Donor Funded Scholarships.

Whether a donor wants to establish a permanent endowment fund or make an immediate impact with their donation, Donor Funded Scholarships significantly impact Mount students.

With an endowment fund, the corpus of the endowment is used to generate interest, and the interest is awarded in student scholarships. Although these funds take one year to begin accruing interest, scholarships will be awarded in perpetuity. For donors who want to start supporting students immediately, a non-endowed scholarship fund can be created. Take the Susan Webster Nee Scholarship, for example.

After his wife Susan Webster Nee ‘89 passed in April of 2020, John Nee established the Susan Webster Nee Scholarship Fund in memory of his beloved wife. With the world reeling from the COVID-19 pandemic, John wanted to lighten the financial burden for Mount students immediately, so he chose to create a non-endowed fund and the first scholarships were awarded in spring 2020.

Scholarships make a significant difference for students while giving donors the opportunity to recognize their own passions and interests. When creating a Donor Funded Scholarship, donors can make the fund more personal by naming the scholarship and setting specific requirements students must meet to receive the scholarship.

For example, Susan was a student in the Mount’s Division of Natural Sciences, so the Susan Webster Nee Scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior student with

demonstrated financial need, majoring in Natural Sciences.

Meeting a certain GPA and living in a specific geographic location are other common requirements. Donors also have the flexibility to choose whether the scholarship is recurring for the same student(s) or is awarded to a new student each academic year.

Both current and incoming students can easily

apply for all donor scholarship opportunities with one online application. The Mount’s Office of Scholarship and Financial Aid receives the completed applications, gives each student a number for anonymity, and then

determines which scholarships they are eligible for based on each scholarship’s unique requirements.

From there, all final decisions are made by the Donor Scholarship Selection Committee, which is made up of one donor representative; Fr. Gregoire Fluet, campus chaplain and director of Campus Ministry; Nikki Khurana-Baugh, Vice President for Advancement; as well as one Mount faculty and one staff member.

With so many deserving students, the selection process is not easy. In the 2021-2022 academic year, more than 300 students applied for 64 donor scholarships. Selecting which students would be awarded each scholarship took the committee more than 15 hours of Zoom meetings.

Paul Daubman, the donor representative on the 2021 selection committee, noted that selecting the scholarship recipients was a task riddled with difficult decisions.

Daubman said the essays written by each candidate describing their achievements, needs, and goals were “shared personal stories of unbelievable dedication to humanity, society, and career commitment. Many narratives depicted difficult individual and family sacrifices with histories of struggle along with amazing success.”

He added, “The process was very tough but rewarding. I wish we had 300 scholarships!”

With a typical annual named scholarship donation beginning at $5,000 and an endowment fund donation starting at $25,000, Donor Scholarships often make a substantial difference in the lives of the students who receive them.

Samantha McGregor ‘19 was the 2018 recipient of the Dr. Lucy DiPaola Memorial Scholarship. Upon receiving this funding, she said the scholarship “has been an indescribable blessing. I feel so fortunate to have the opportunity to continue my education at Mount Saint Mary College.”

Supporting scholarships

If you’re passionate about supporting students with a specific academic interest, meeting certain academic qualifications, from a specific region, or with certain characteristics (first-generation, adult learners, student parent, etc.) and want to create a scholarship named in honor of or in memory of a loved one, faculty member,

mentor, or friend, please consider setting up a Donor Scholarship at the Mount.

For those who are unable to create a named scholarship, contributions can still be made to the Mount’s Donor Scholarship Fund, which collects donations of less than $5,000. This general fund supports students who are on the brink of dropping out of the Mount due to financial struggle. Thirty students have been granted funding from the Donor Scholarship Fund.

Lizzy Dillon ‘22, of Milford, P.A., was in her junior year as a Nursing student when she received support from the Donor Scholarship Fund.

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, Dillon’s parents owned three thriving businesses, which provided sufficient income for the family of 11. However, throughout the pandemic they were forced to drastically scale back, causing financial hardship.

Dillon, the first in her family to go to college, found herself contemplating whether she could return to the Mount, go to community college, or take a gap year.

“Ultimately, I knew I wanted to stay at the Mount and complete my nursing degree and begin the career and life I always wanted,” Dillon said.

After reaching out to various departments and explaining her situation, Dillon learned that she was eligible for support from the Donor Scholarship Fund.

She added, “This scholarship was an answer to prayer and allowed me to stay at the Mount. Thanks to the many generous donors that made my scholarship possible!”

Arthur O. Eve Higher Education Opportunity Program

For more than 50 years, Mount Saint Mary College’s Arthur O. Eve Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP) has been providing support to traditionally underserved students who have strong academic potential, but would otherwise be excluded from higher education due to circumstances of academic and economic disadvantage.

The Mount’s HEOP is one of the most established and successful of its kind in New York. Since 1969, the program has been integral to the college’s commitment to accessible higher education and its philosophy of preparing students for a life of leadership.

In keeping with the college’s Dominican tradition – and Mount President Dr. Jason N. Adsit’s vision of service –HEOP also emphasizes volunteerism. Accepted Mount HEOP students are required to complete the four-week Summer Academic Institute prior to their freshman year, jumpstarting their sense of community. In addition, HEOP students volunteer with local organizations such as the Boys and Girls Club of Newburgh, the Newburgh Ministry, and more.

Achieving dreams though scholarships

One of the ways the HEOP students’ educational dreams come true is through scholarships, including the Anne F. Bourne Memorial Fund.

The Anne F. Bourne Memorial Fund, administered by the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan, provides grants to nonprofit organizations for programs for the spiritual, moral, and general improvement of economically disadvantaged minority residents of the City of Newburgh. For many years before his passing, John H. Smith, Sr., a

longtime friend of the Mount, served as the Treasurer of the Anne F. Bourne Memorial Fund.

In March 2020, the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan presented a donation of $16,000 from the Anne F. Bourne Fund to support Mount students, including $9,000 for HEOP.

In November 2021, the trustees of the Anne F. Bourne Fund, Mr. Wilbur Higgins, Ms. Rachel Schuyler ’97 & ‘’00, and Ms. Cathy McCarty unanimously voted to donate $24,000 to support three City of Newburgh HEOP students.

“Meeting our Bourne Fund HEOP Scholars was inspiring. They are articulate, passionate, hard-working, and dedicated to achieving their dreams of a college degree. We are so impressed by what they have already accomplished and are thrilled to be able to provide this increased donation,” said Ms. McCarty.

for College Advancement, adding that their contributions “directly impact student success and ability to graduate.”

One such student is Marichen Monitel-Hertling, a junior Business Management and Administration major from Newburgh, N.Y.

“Anne Bourne has blessed me for the past three years of my college experience,” she explained, noting that the scholarship “has allowed me to continue my studies while providing me with ease of mind, knowing that I do not have to stress over my financial situation. It has also been a great motivator and has pushed me to continue working hard, it’s good to know others believe and invest in my education.”

FAMILY FIRSTS

Many Mount HEOP students are the first in their families to earn a college degree, noted Kelvin Herrera-Hassan, director of the Mount’s HEOP/CSTEP.

“It’s important for Mount Saint Mary College to cultivate students like this because this program aims to help students succeed through education and to make contributions to their communities and society at large,” said Herrera-Hassan. “Many of our HEOP graduates have entered careers in medicine, law, business, communications, social work, and more. The accomplishments of our students are clear.”

It’s rewarding, Herrera-Hassan added, to see HEOP students grow personally, academically, and professionally: “Nothing compares to the feeling of being able to see them come in as wide-eyed freshmen and leave successful, experienced students ready to conquer anything and everything.”

EXCELLENT ALUMNI

Some of the best and brightest graduates the Mount has ever produced came from HEOP.

Beth Mills ’77 is the board president of 1346 Park Place HDFC, a co-op for low- to middle-income families in Brooklyn, N.Y. with a unique management approach: all residents are expected to pitch in and help maintain the upkeep of the building and agree to special community living standards. In exchange, the residents feel a sense of shared leadership and responsibility and enjoy a positive and mutually respectful living space.

Mills is proud to give back to her alma mater, she said: “I contribute because it helps to insure that I will be able to relax in one of the lounge chairs in Aquinas Hall with a quiet smile in my heart knowing that I was fortunate enough to have attended and graduated from MSMC and the hope that someone else like me will have the same opportunity.”

John Koepper ’72 got into the program when the director of HEOP at the time, Sr. Ann Stankiewicz, OP, gave him a chance to prove himself by taking a summer course. He was able to maintain good grades while still working 35 hours a week at Shatz Optical and enrolled at the college that fall. Upon graduation, Koepper combined his knowledge of teaching and crafting eyewear at the Wallkill Correctional Facility, where he taught inmates how to make glasses.

Koepper remains grateful to the college and gives annually to the Mount’s HEOP as a way of giving back to future generations. He encourages others to do the same: “Give what you can, because who you are and what you have become is because someone helped you along the way,” he explained. “We cannot take kindness without passing it on. Please pass it on.”

Helping HEOP

HEOP students often juggle fulltime jobs with fulltime course schedules to pay off loans and aid their families financially. In the 2021-2022 academic year, the Mount will contribute $1 million toward the education of more than 30 HEOP students in an effort to help them lighten their financial load and focus more on their education.

If you feel passionate about supporting underserved students through their academic journey at the Mount, it’s easy to join the effort. The more funding the Mount has for HEOP, the more students it can send out into the world ready to contribute in diverse and innovative ways.

Scholarships jumpstart success Scholarships jumpstart success

Thanks to the tireless dedication of the founding sisters, Mount Saint Mary College has been steeped in the Dominican pillars of service, community, study, and spirituality for more than 60 years.

To help pass on these important Dominican values and teach our students truth, institutional scholarships and financial aid provide an affordable education to thousands of deserving students. In total, the Mount gives $21 million in direct aid to our students per year. That’s more than 45 percent of the college’s annual operating budget.

The majority of students who attend the Mount – 88 percent – rely on financial aid and scholarships to graduate. Additionally, more than one third of our students are the first in their family to attend college.

NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS

To aid as many students as possible, the college recently introduced several new scholarships.

Diane Gerald ’83 Endowed Scholarship for Student

Mothers: Danette Gerald Howard and Edana L. Gerald established this scholarship in honor of their mother’s 70th birthday. Diane attended and graduated from Mount Saint Mary College while raising her two daughters. In recognition of the unique challenges faced by student mothers, Danette

Filma Jackson Memorial Scholarship: Filma dedicated her life to nurturing and caring for thousands of children throughout the Hudson Valley. Over the past 25 years, she spent her life as an activist devoted to children, service and social justice. Out of a desire to keep Filma’s memory alive, Filma’s family and friends generously donated to establish this fund. Filma’s memorial scholarship is awarded to a first generation, incoming Hudson Valley high school student with financial need.

Annual Gala Reception Endowed Scholarship: All donations and proceeds will be awarded to academically strong students, with financial need, with preference given to students pursuing a degree in Business.

Golf & Tennis Tournament Endowed Scholarship: Established in 2021, all donations and proceeds will be awarded to academically strong students with financial need. Preference will be given to students pursuing sports management, sports medicine, or similar fields.

Class of 1970 Endowed Scholarship: Established by the Reunion Committee in honor of their 50th Reunion, this scholarship will be awarded to high school seniors from underserved populations in financial need with demonstrated community service or leadership. Collectively, Reunion Committee members donated $15,000 towards the $25,000 needed to fully endow the scholarship- and their classmates contributed the rest to fully endow this new scholarship!

Class of 1971 Endowed Scholarship: In recognition of their 50th anniversary, Reunion Committee members established a scholarship that will be awarded to students in financial need from Nursing and/or Education. The first recipient will be from Nursing, in recognition of nurses’ work during the pandemic. Reunion Committee member,

“Some of our students have to choose between buying food, paying rent, paying for utilities, and paying for school – an impossible decision for anyone, let alone a 20-year-old who is working hard for a better future,”

Maureen Kilpatrick Neppl, said, “the Mount gave each of us the opportunity to follow our chosen professions and passions. Let the Class of ‘71 do the same for current and future Mount students.”

Catania- Zambito Family Endowed Scholarship: Debra and Jim Zambito established this scholarship to support first-generation students from the City of Newburgh with financial need who are pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business, with preference given to students studying Healthcare Management. “I can’t remember a time when the Mount wasn’t a part of my life or my families’. The lessons I learned, experiences shared, and friendships created continue to influence me today. This scholarship is our way of giving back to the college that gave me and others in my family so much,” said Debra Zambito.

Karen Eberle-McCarthy Scholarship: Professor Emerita Karen Eberle-McCarthy donated $20,000 to establish a new scholarship to support current junior and senior students from the City of Newburgh with Spanish fluency and financial need.

As Karen shared, “having spent 37 years teaching Spanish at MSMC and taken hundreds of students on immersive study abroad experiences, I have witnessed the incredible impact a college degree can have on young minds and their future success. College graduates from the City of Newburgh are role models for their families and community, which is why I decided to establish this new scholarship. Nick Citera & Nicolas DiBrizzi Endowed Scholarship:

As the principals/partners of Cosimo’s Restaurant Group, Nick and Nicolas have been proud residents of the Hudson Valley since the 1970s. A few of their most iconic local restaurants include Cosimo’s on Union, The Pizza Shop, and Hudson Taco.

Always humble and grateful for the success they have achieved, Nick and Nicolas take every opportunity to give back to the community. This new scholarship will support Hudson Valley students with financial need, with preference given to first generation college students, in fulfilling their educational goals at MSMC.

Rhinebeck Bank Scholarship: Rhinebeck Bank is a community bank with over 160 years of experience in

serving the needs of Hudson Valley residents. Rhinebeck Bank is committed to supporting the needs of our local residents and is highly philanthropic to many local nonprofits. With a new location in the City of Newburgh, just miles from Mount Saint Mary College, this scholarship further signals the strong commitment Rhinebeck Bank has in this local community. This scholarship will be awarded to a new or continuing Mount student with financial need from the Hudson Valley pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business.

Unitex Endowed Scholarship: Founded in 1922 and proudly celebrating its 100th year in business in 2022, Unitex, a local service business employing over 175 people in Newburgh among its 1900 team members overall , has been leading the way in the healthcare linen and uniform rental industry. Now in its 4th generation, Unitex is the largest family-owned healthcare service provider in the country. As a demonstration of Unitex’s dedication to the families and students of the City of Newburgh, David Potack, President of Unitex, and his wife Samantha established this endowed scholarship to support local students in attending Mount Saint Mary College.

Focused Wealth Management Scholarship: Focused Wealth Management, located just minutes from Mount Saint Mary College, is a SEC Registered Investment Advisory firm committed to providing clients with asset management solutions and services. Phil DeAngelo, the Managing Director, and his wife Tina, are dedicated to the success of the City of Newburgh, having established Liberty Street Bistro and the Flour Shop Bakery with Chef Michael Kelly. Most recently, Phil and his firm purchased the former “Johnes Home” property and under took a three-year full restoration to build modern office space in Hudson Valley.

Phil and Tina are deeply committed to supporting our local youth and established this scholarship to create access to higher education and future success.

BUILDING ON ACHIEVEMENT

The impact on the students who receive Mount scholarships is immeasurable, setting the tone for a lifetime of success.

One example is Maria Norris of Mahopac, N.Y, a Psychology major who earned the Susan Moffo Myklak Scholarship. She noted that the scholarship “has allowed me to peruse my dream of a higher education at a school that matches my beliefs and values. I am extremely grateful for having been chosen for this scholarship and I hope to someday be in a position where I can provide someone else with the same opportunity.”

For the 2021-2022 academic year, almost 300 students applied for one of only 64 donor funded scholarships. Furthermore, about $225,000 of the college’s $21 million institutional aid budget is donated by our generous benefactors.

Nikki Khurana-Baugh, Vice President for Advancement at the Mount, thanked the community for their support of the college.

“Some of our students have to choose between buying food, paying rent, paying for utilities, and paying for school – an impossible decision for anyone, let alone a 20-year-old who is working hard for a better future,” she said. “Scholarships are critical for our students. Simply put, they would not be at the Mount without your generous donations.”

Cheryl Walkorrun 5K September 2021

Nearly 200 friends raised $18,804 during the first annual Cheryl WalkorRun 5K. The race was established in memory of Cheryl Walker MS, RN, ACNS-BC, CWCN, a devoted nurse for almost forty years when she was sadly taken from cancer in January 2016. All proceeds went to support the Cheryl Walker’s Nursing Scholarship, created to pay it forward to the profession she loved so much.

Athletics Hall of Fame October 2021

The 2020 Hall of Fame inductees represented incredible athletic talent and dedication, including Derrick R. Brown ’91, the Mount’s first professional baseball player who was also a 1,000-point scorer on the basketball court. Scott Colello ‘14 became the first track and field athlete to enter the Hall with 31 school records. Mike Fisher ’00 helped the baseball program to a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances, and ranked among the national batting average leaders. Stephanie Karcher ’15 also shined on the diamond, setting records for career and single season home runs, and two NCAA single game records. Brandon Mincher ’14 was the ultimate team player, helping men’s soccer to its first Skyline Championship and NCAA appearance with 23 career assists.

To complete this amazing class was Lorraine Santacroce, who passed away in September of 2020. She was the Athletic Director during the dawn of the college, taught numerous physical education classes and coached the cheer and women’s basketball teams, winning the college’s first tournament in 1969.

Marquee Events Annual Gala December 2020

Due to COVID-19, MSMC's Annual Gala was a virtual event. Typically, the Gala honors business and community leaders, however, the Advancement Committee voted to recognize MSMC students, faculty and staff for their determination in returning to in-person learning for the fall 2020 semester. With face coverings and social distancing protocols in place, the first day of classes marked the first time students took classes on campus since March 2020, when COVID-19 forced the transition to online learning. It was a long journey from those first days of online instruction to living, working, and learning on campus again. But it was also through these hardships that our community grew, adapted, and became stronger.

This year’s honoree was the late John Smith and the Smith Family of William A. Smith & Son, Inc. Insurance Agency. The insurance agency and the family have been proudly serving the Hudson Valley for the last 90 years – that’s three generations of Smith family members taking care of our insurance needs.  Since William A. Dear friends,

It is with a sense of gratitude that I pen these few words at the end of the Donor Impact Report.

Mount Saint Mary College was established by the Dominican Sisters to offer excellence in education to any qualified student who might seek such an education. The legacy of the Sisters is simple: turn no deserving and qualified student away, especially for financial reasons and help all good students achieve the success and dreams they hope for.

Our college is still informed by the pillars of Spirituality, Study, Community and Service. To maintain those realities and to avoid turning away qualified students becomes more and more challenging with the ever rising cost of education. That challenged increased in a dramatic way with the pandemic. Suddenly food insecurity, heat, and rent for families of both traditional and what might be termed nontraditional students (single mothers as an example) forced very hard choices.

This past year, I joined an incredible team to identify recipients of MSMC donor scholarships. It involved hours of making difficult decisions. At first glance, a $500

The Advancement Committee of the Board of Trustees, the talented team in the Advancement office, and the creative people in the Marketing office, work tirelessly throughout the year to develop the Donor Impact Report. This Donor Impact Report contains a record of those who have so generously given of themselves to benefit our community and provides a unique perspective on the ways in which your volunteer efforts and philanthropic endeavors dramatically improve the college’s academic programs, student-learning initiatives, and overall campus culture. Moreover, the report demonstrates how your contributions reflect and continue the distinguished and laudable legacy of the Dominican Sisters. Like our founding sisters, it is clear

that our supporters have made the four Dominican pillars of study, spirituality, community, and service a part of their everyday lives.

When they arrived in Newburgh in 1883, the Dominican Sisters had their hearts and minds set on scholarship and service. Internship Fund

Internships offer students the opportunity to gain work experience. Donations cover expenses attached to these experiences by providing stipends for positions that are unpaid or underpaid.
