Stress triggers go off when we begin to feel like events are outside of our control, creating a detailed plan puts the ball back in your court and you are on your way to feeling in control of the move. “Start by writing out a tick list of all the moving tasks you need to complete with a timeline that starts three months before your move date,” says ITV This Morning’s home moving expert, Alison Cork. When it comes to preparing for the big move try to plan and organise as far in advance as possible. Ahead of the move buy boxes and put them in each room so you can pack as you go if possible. Always be prepared for more items to come out of your home than expected - you will be surprised at the amount of things you can accumulate over the course of a few years in a property. If things are starting to get cluttered, now might even be the best time to do some streamlining. You could separate excess belongings that you don’t use anymore into a bin bag that could go straight to charity. Once the packing stage is complete label each box clearly by room so that unpacking is as straightforward as possible once you get to your new home.
2. Get friends and family to help When the all important moving day comes around you’re going to need some help. Ask your friends and family to get involved well in advance and keep them motivated on the day with snacks and cakes. As the old saying goes, many hands make light work and with all the extra hands your moving will be done in next to no time. Getting friends and family involved can make moving a fun experience. If they’re failing to see the fun side promise them that once the bulk of the work is done, you’ll crack open a bottle of wine as a reward for all of their hard work.
3. Get the professionals in Of course, friends and family might not always be available to help on moving day and full service professional moving companies can pack and move all of your belongings into your new home without you ever having to lift a finger.
4. Be careful when booking a removal van

If hiring the professionals isn’t an option be careful when organising your own removal van. Keep in mind that the smaller the van you hire the more trips you will have to make in order to transport all of your stuff. Estate agents also advise that you shouldn’t get ahead of yourself by booking a removal van before all parties confirm a set moving date as this can cause problems later on. “Too many sellers book removal vans too early,” says estate agent Darren Carter at Reeds Rains. “This means that there is then another third party that you have to rearrange with should the date change.”
5. Think about your pets And finally, spare a thought for your pets, while we consider moving a stressful experience take into account that they can’t even understand what is going on. It’s widely recognised that one of your pet’s biggest fears while you are moving is that it isn’t going with you. Give pets plenty of reassurance, try to keep them in one room during packing and you could even consider plug in pheromones such as Feliway for cats or DAP for dogs to calm your stressed pets. Alison Cork, home moving expert, says, “For you and your pets moving home doesn’t have to be stressful. In fact, it should be an exciting time when you embark on a new chapter and make new friends.” Don’t forget that the stress of moving home is only temporary and that you will soon be settled in. The best way to make yourself feel at home once your move is complete is to put the kettle on in your new kitchen, set up your TV or even find your nearest local takeaway. So you can really start to relax and get on with enjoying your new home.

Free rent guarantee for Ormskirk landlords An Ormskirk property lettings company has become the first in the area to guarantee rent payments to landlords for free. BRITAIN’S BIEBER Ever since Brighton-born teenager CONOR MAYNARD caught the world’s attention with his performances on YouTube, he rapidly became known as the next big thing in music. Now signed by one of the largest recording companies in the world, EMI Parlophone, and with his debut album ‘Contrast’ out in a matter of weeks, Your Move got the chance to talk to 19-year old Conor about his influences, how he still finds time for his friends and family and how he doesn’t want to just be known as the UK’s answer to Justin Bieber.
INTERVIEW BY JAMES ORRELL How does it feel to go from average teenager from Brighton to being signed by one of the foremost record company in the world? It’s a great experience. The way it happened was a whirlwind; it was crazy. However, my relationships with friends and family haven’t changed. I try to see them as much as possible and they still treat me as ‘normal Conor’. Who would you say has influenced your music the most? Growing up I listened to artists like Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder and later I began listening to more R+B singers like Usher, Ne-Yo and Justin Timberlake. Now I’d say I’m more influenced by a lot of hip-hop like Jay-Z and Kanye West. The two singles that you have released so far have been focused primarily on the theme of love. In the future would you want to explore other themes? One of the main reasons for calling the album ‘Contrast’ is because of the contrast in the album, when people hear it they’ll find all different styles. I don’t want to be seen just as one type of artist.
Already you’ve gained enthusiastic support from rapper Pharrell Williams and singer Lily Allen, do you think that has been a major contributor to your rapid international success? To have that interest from people I’ve looked up to is definitely a boost. It’s great that people know about me and people respect my music and I think it’s always nice to have interest from people who’ve influenced you. You’ve constantly been compared to US teen sensation Justin Bieber, how do you feel about the comparison? It’s easier to be compared to him in this early part of my career, we’re both young and both went through YouTube to start our careers but I think it’s better for people to make their own opinions about my music. Do you like being placed in the ‘teen sensation’ bracket with artists like One Direction and Justin Bieber, or would you prefer to be considered on the same level as those artists that have influenced your music? Well, soon I won’t be a teenager! My album does have quite a young sound but obviously I admire music from the more mature artists so to be considered on that same level would be great. There are tracks on the album for all ages.
Do you think it was easier for you to break into the music industry because of your age and the obvious teen appeal? That’s been a massive benefit but there are still millions of teenagers who are trying to do the same thing. I’ve put a lot of hard work in to prove myself and get to the point I’m at today. What advice would you give to anyone who wants to break into the music industry? Going through YouTube is a massive platform to start a career so I’d definitely advise that but obviously a lot of people follow that route so it’s important to put own unique twist on it to get people to respect you as your own artist rather than someone just doing a cover. You want fans of you, not fans of the song. What are your future plans with music, more specifically with your album? I want as many people as possible to get to listen to it. Doing a world tour and going to all different countries would be amazing. Conor will play Liverpool’s 02 Academy on July 26.

We’re happy to have been able to keep people in jobs.” We wrap up the meal as the sun still shines in the beer garden, Ady says his burger was lovely but he has to admit defeat in what he says was a “David and Goliath moment with the burger winning 1-nil.” It is to be noted that if the Clove Hitch’s burgers are the best in Liverpool as the restaurant’s manager says, they are also the largest! My chicken pitta is delicious and the maple and ginger glaze is a welcome change in flavour from all your normal offerings. As for the future, Armistead Energy Solutions want to become
the North West provider and knowledge on the Government’s new Green Deal. They are currently in the process of setting up seminars for private landlords to inform them of the benefits of the new deal. “Landlords can come to the seminar and find out more about the Green Deal and how it is going to affect them. You can basically improve your home by reducing your energy bills. We can see many positives in the Green Deal for landlords and that’s why we want to tell them about it,” says Ady. And once again, it’s not just about profit and growth of the business as he explains that becoming the North West provider for the Green Deal would mean not just 100 more jobs for Armistead but 100 jobs for local people. The Armistead group are a company who not only know how to weather a storm but also how to come out dry with all passengers intact. razilica hosted its annual competition to crown its Carnival Queen at Liverpool ONEâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Palm Sugar. The event marked the beginning of the biggest samba carnival in the UK, a three-day festival, bringing a taste of Brazilâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s culture and its carnival atmosphere to Liverpool. All around the venue there was an array of colour, sequins and feathers as carnival queens showed off their samba moves. The samba dance-off saw dancers from all around the world come together to decide who the Queen of the Carnival was. Highlights from the rest of the festival included the Official Brazilica Opening Party on Friday, the Soccer Zone in Clayton Square on Saturday and the International Carnival Cook-up at Camp & Furnace on Sunday.
