Veterinary Community Eligible for COVID Vaccine March 15

Members of the veterinary community will become eligible for the COVID vaccine starting on March 15. This is the date Phase 1B Tier 3 will begin. This Tier includes agriculture, which has been verified to include all veterinarians and veterinary staff in Missouri. We urge all veterinarians and veterinary staff who wish to receive the vaccine to register now on the state’s COVID site: MOStopsCOVID.com and click the Register Now link. Make sure you indicate that your employment falls under Agriculture. The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services Director Dr. William Randall has confirmed that all veterinarians and veterinary staff in Missouri are included under the Agriculture category. We are told that registering on the state’s COVID site: MOStopsCOVID.com is the most efficient avenue for getting on the schedule to be vaccinated, however, there are additional avenues for those who wish to investigate them. These include contacting your healthcare provider, your local hospital system, your local health department, or your local CVS, Walgreen, or HyVee pharmacies. Availability through these avenues varies greatly on the local level. Pursuing them in addition to registering on the state site may or may not expedite your being scheduled for the vaccination. The MVMA wants to thank you for your dedication to your clients and your patients. We wish you the best in health and safety.
