A Resident (R) or Nonresident (NR) Card is required in order to enter any Wentzville Parks and Recreation facility and allows us to better track attendance at our facilities. Nonresident Cards will expire after one year.

Resident Cards enable Wentzville residents to access recreation facilities, recreation programs and classes at discounted resident prices. Cards can be obtained at the WREC, Progress Park Recreation Center, Wentzville Ice Arena and Splash Station (during the season). Each resident must have a Resident Card in order to access the facilities at the resident rate.

Rates and Hours WREC

Resident and Nonresident Definitions

Wentzville residents are those living within the city limits of the City of Wentzville. City limits and Post Office boundaries are not the same, so it’s possible to have a Wentzville address yet live outside the City. A Family Annual Pass consists of two adults, ages 27 and older, and three dependents, ages 26 or younger, living in the same household. More children may be added to a pass for an additional fee.

WREC Passes

• Active military and Veterans can receive a $40 military discount on any WREC Pass except Youth.

• A WREC Pass paid in monthly installments must be active for six months after which the pass can be canceled at any time for a $25 fee.

• The additional household member fee is a one-time charge of $30/40 per additional household member and is good for an entire year.

• The WREC Outdoor Aquatics Season Pass Upgrade Fee is in addition to the WREC Annual Pass Fee allowing admission to Progress Park Pool and Splash Station Aquatics Center during the regular outdoor pool season. It is available on all passes except Senior Couple.

• Summer and Winter Break Passes only apply to individuals ages 16 and older.

Parks and Recreation Board

This volunteer advisory group to the Board of Aldermen, Mayor and Director of Parks and Recreation, serves as a sounding board by holding public meetings and exercising influence throughout the City to improve and expand recreational opportunities. Members are appointed by the Mayor and approved by the Board of Aldermen for a three-year term. The Parks and Recreation Board (PARB) meets at 6:30P on the first Monday of each month at Wentzville City Hall (1001 Schroeder Creek Blvd.). The meetings are open to the public. Tree Committee

Wentzville has been recognized for 13 consecutive years as a "Tree City USA" recipient. In the fall of 2014, Wentzville's Parks and Recreation Board created the Tree Committee, which reviews the City's tree and landscape ordinances. Art and Programs Committee

The Arts and Programs Committee of Wentzville, Missouri, is a volunteer nonprofit committee of the City’s Parks and Recreation Board. The Committee engages the community of Wentzville in an appreciation for art in its various forms. News, information and education are disseminated to the community by the committee to demonstrate the value of creativity and craft for generations to come.

When registering over the phone or online it is presumed that you agree to the following Hold Harmless Statement:

Wentzville Parks & Recreation Register for a Program

Register Early

All programs must meet minimum enrollment in order to be offered. If there are not enough registrants, a course must be canceled. Unless otherwise noted, all registrations must be received a minimum of one week prior to the start of the first class. A late fee may apply for registrations after the program deadline listed. Wentzville Parks and Recreation reserves the right to cancel, postpone, combine classes or change instructors as needed. If a class is canceled due to lack of enrollment, registered class participants will be notified of an alternate class or program if one is available or a full refund check or credit slip will be processed within four weeks. Program pricing is often listed in an R/NR format where R stands for resident and NR stands for nonresident.

Payment and Returned Checks

Full payment is required at the time of registration, unless otherwise noted. Upon registering, customers agree to all rules, regulations and policies. A 2% surcharge will be added to all credit or debit card transactions. A $15 charge is applied for all returned payments and installment billing declines.

Field and Facility Rentals

Whether it's a family outing, corporate picnic, wedding or other special event, we make it easy for you to host your event. We have athletic fields, ice rinks, a banquet hall, pavilions, pools and more to meet your needs. Reservations are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Refund Guidelines

• A full (100%) refund, credit or transfer will be given if Wentzville Parks and Recreation cancels the program or rental.

• If the participant withdraws from the program before the first class or game,* the Department must receive a request and a full refund will be given, less a $10 administrative fee. The refund will be processed as a credit to the household account.** Credit can be used on future programs. A credit may be used by any member on the same household account.

• If the participant withdraws from the program any time after the first class or game, the Department requires a request and a prorated credit to the account will be given, less a $10 administrative fee.** No refunds will be issued after the program or session is half over.

• Refunds for medical reasons, requested prior to the start date of the program, will be granted a full refund** subject to verification.

• Any refunds processed for volunteer coaching will be applied to the household account for future purchases.

• An administrative cancellation fee of $10 will apply to all field rentals.

• A cancellation for a Progress Park Center reservation will forfeit the deposit.

• A gym or pavilion cancellation must be submitted at least thirty days prior to the reservation. A full refund will be issued minus a $10 administrative fee. Reservation cancellations submitted less than 30 days, but more than 14 days prior to the reservation will be refunded at 50% of the rental fee or the reservation can be rescheduled minus a $10 administrative fee. Reservation cancellations submitted less than 14 days prior to the reservation will forfeit the rental fee or the reservation can be rescheduled minus a $10 administrative fee.

• If a participant withdraws from a program after supplies or tickets have been purchased, the refund will be prorated minus these expenses.

*No refunds will be issued for adult leagues after the registration deadline.

**All youth league refunds will be less the cost of uniforms.

This draw-style league is for players of all skill levels and a great way to have some friendly competition, sharpen your skills and meet other pickleball players. We have eight bubble balls available to rent for your next get together. Bubble Soccer is the recreation or sport of playing soccer while encased in an inflated ball that covers the player's upper-body and head. The game can be played indoors in the Progress Park Recreation Center gym or outdoors on the turf at Heartland Park. The annual Wentzville Holiday Night Lights display at Rotary Park is open Friday, NOV 29 through Monday, DEC 30. Enjoy a one-mile light display that features large, illuminated commercial scenes and tunnels of twinkling lights. This holiday display is a great way to experience the magic and joy of the season close to home. Drive-Thru admission is $10 for vehicles holding up to six passengers; $1 per additional person after the sixth. On Saturdays you can enjoy a visit with Santa inside the Kolb Building, which has been transformed into a winter wonderland! The Drive-Thru will open late on DEC 8 due to the Holiday Night Lights 5K and Fun Run. The Drive-Thru will not be open DEC 9 due to the Holiday Night Lights Walk-Thru.

HOLIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS WALK-THRU

Rotary Park

Ages: All Ages

Enjoy the Holiday Night Lights display at a slower, more intimate pace during this walk thru event. Attendees will stroll through the one-mile light display and experience enchanted scenes, twinkling lights and joyful carolers. After walking the illuminated route, come inside the Kolb Building which has been transformed into a winter wonderland and get your picture taken with Santa! The Walk-Thru will be open DEC 9 from 5-8P. The inclement weather date is DEC 10.

SLEIGH HAYRIDES

Rotary Park

Book a wintertime, tractor-pulled hayride through beautiful Rotary Park to tour the breathtaking Holiday Night Lights. Rides are available on Mondays and Wednesdays at 6P, 6:45P, 7:30P and 8:15P. Sleigh Hayrides are perfect for scouts, church groups, picnics, company parties or family/neighborhood get-togethers. Sip hot chocolate and munch on cookies while sitting around a fire pit. The hayride will hold a maximum of 25 people, including lap children. Rides are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. A two-week notice is required; no refunds will be given unless the display is closed. An additional lap around the park may be paid for ahead of time for an additional $25. Additional laps are only available for the 6P and 8:15P time slot. Rides will not be available DEC 9 or DEC 25.

FALL TREE SEMINAR

Peruque Valley Park Ages: All Branch out and learn more about trees with Wentzville Parks and Recreation and the Missouri Department of Conservation. Take a walking tour of Peruque Valley Park to learn about the trees and native plants in the park as well as invasive species and how to control them. Finish the 90-minute event by watching a tree planting demonstration to learn how to set new trees up for success.

MONSTER MASH TRUNK-OR-TREAT

Station 1 Firehouse Ages: All Ages Join us at the Station 1 Firehouse on Luetkenhaus Boulevard for our annual Monster Mash Trunk-or-Treat co-sponsored by the Wentzville Firefighters Community Outreach. Families will enjoy games, face painting, the Bubble Bus, Playtime Party Center inflatables, exciting vendors and a “trunk-or-treat” during this three-hour event.

Preregistration is required for all attendees. Tickets will not be available at the door. Each ticket includes a hot dog, bag of chips and a drink, as well as a pumpkin for ages 12 and under while supplies last.

For inclement weather, the event will be moved indoors to the fire truck bay. Participants may begin lining up around 10A and the event will run from 10:30A-1:30P.

Mayor Nick Guccione will officially begin the tree lighting ceremony at 5:30P and the parade will begin at approximately 6P in Historic Downtown Wentzville. Test your skill and speed in this spooky 500-piece haunted house puzzle challenge. Race against the clock and other teams to see who can conquer the haunted mansion first. Participants will have three hours to complete the puzzle and the winner will take home a puzzle to complete at home. Martial arts classes teach students focus, discipline and respect for themselves and others. Using traditional Taekwondo along with elements of karate and boxing, students will gain coordination, strength and balance. OF STRENGTH TRAINING

This small group training class is geared toward our youth members who would like to learn how to lift weights and get started on a safe exercise program. These one-hour sessions focus on the benefits of strength training but also include body weight exercises, core work, balance and flexibility. (Min 4/Max 6)

INTERMEDIATE STRENGTH TRAINING

Focus on total body strength training with the use of free weights in this four-week class. This also includes core work, flexibility and stretching. (Min 4/Max 6)

YOUTH POWER CREW

These one-hour sessions provide additional training opportunities for those who have successfully completed the Advanced Strength Training program. Classes will focus on optimal strength development, performance and overall well-being. (Min 4/Max 6)

YOUTH SPEED ZONE

Youth Speed Zone is the ultimate clinic for young athletes to enhance their speed and agility. Our program features dynamic drills designed to boost performance and coordination. Pre- and post-assessments are included to monitor progress and measure improvements, ensuring each participant reaches their full potential. SWIM LEVELS

JELLYFISH

Ages: Toddler (6-23 Months)

This level develops a child’s comfort in and around water and prepares them to help build water acclimation.

Skills to be mastered with assistance: blowing bubbles, kicking, floating on back with parent support and swimming motions with parent support. Child must be at least 6 months old. Parent or guardian accompanies the child in the pool throughout the sessions. Participant to instructor ratio is 10:1. (Min 4/Max 10)

GUPPY

Ages: Preschool (2-3)

This transitional class is for children who are not quite ready to be in the water independently and are working on building that independence. For the first four lessons the parents will join the children in the water helping them stay involved in the lesson and participating. During the last four lessons, children will enter and participate in the class independently as they master introductory skills and learn safe practices.

Skills to be mastered: independence from parent and guardian, introduction to breaststroke arms, and full body submersion with assistance. Participant to instructor ratio 6:1. (Min 3/Max 6)

SEA TURTLE

Ages: Preschool (Ages 3-4)

This level intends to develop a child’s comfort in and around water.

Skills to be mastered: front and back kick with instructor support, submerge head, feet-first jump and entering and exiting the pool unassisted. Participant to instructor ratio 5:1. (Min 3/Max 5)

STINGRAY

Ages: Level 1 (Ages 5+)

This level helps maintain water independence and begins teaching basic swim strokes.

Skills to be mastered: front and back kick with instructor support, feetfirst jump, submerge head, basic breaststroke arm movements, entering and exiting the pool unassisted, and back float with instructor support. Participant to instructor ratio 6:1. (Min 3/Max 6)

MARLIN

Ages: Level 2 (Ages 5+)

This level is for those who are comfortable in the water and are ready to become more independent swimmers mainly focusing on breaststroke and backstroke movements.

Skills to be mastered: submerge head and face, front and back kick without support, and basic front and back stroke. Participant to instructor ratio 6:1. (Min 3/Max 6)

WALRUS

Ages: Level 3 (Ages 5+)

This level will further develop strokes and build breathing technique and endurance.

Skills to be mastered: submerge head, front crawl with rhythmic breathing, basic front and back crawl. This class may spend time in water 7-12 feet deep. Participant to instructor ratio 6:1. (Min 3/Max 6)

DOLPHIN

Ages: Level 4 (Ages 5+)

This level intends to perfect front stroke, backstroke and elementary backstroke.

Skills to be mastered: treading water for 60 seconds and basic performance of breaststroke and sidestroke. This class spends time in water 7-12 feet deep. Participant to instructor ratio 8:1. (Min 3/Max 8)

SHARK

Ages: Level 5 (Ages 5+)

This level is the most advanced swim level and focuses almost entirely on technique and preparation for swim team or fitness swimming. Students in this level have learned and put together all strokes, but need further assistance in perfecting them and swimming more efficiently.

Skills to be mastered: advancement in basic stroke skill, tread water for two minutes without using hands, retrieve brick from bottom of pool, flip turns, basic butterfly stroke, starts and entries. Participant to instructor ratio 8:1. (Min 3/Max 8)

LEARN-TO-SKATE

Wentzville Ice Arena Ages: 3+

This 30-minute class will build confidence on and off the ice and teach balance, coordination and the fundamentals of skating. Classes are held Thursdays at 4:50P or 5:20P or Saturdays at 10:20A or 11A, depending on age. Registration includes skate rental and a punch card for admission to eight public skate sessions. No class OCT 5, OCT 31, NOV 28 or NOV 30.

Ages: 3-6

Learn the basics of skating including how to fall down and get up off and on the ice as well as how to march forward. (Min 4/Max 15)

Snowflake 2

Learn building block skating skills forward and backward as well as how to glide forward and an introduction to stopping. (Min 3/Max 10)

Snowflake 3

Get more involved in skating forward and backward, begin basic edge work and learn to stop from moving. (Min 3/Max 10)

Snowflake 4

Work on more advanced edge work and backward skating skills. This class must be passed before joining the Learn-to-Play Hockey program. (Min 3/Max 10)

Beginner 2

Learn more advanced forward skating skills, including forward stroking, forward crossovers in both directions and one foot snow plow stops. (Min 3/Max 10)

Beginner 3

Learn more advanced backward skating skills including backward stroking and backward crossovers. T-stops are also learned in this class. (Min 3/Max 10)

Beginner 4

Learn more advanced one foot turns performed on each foot and both edges. Hockey stops will also be learned in this class. (Min 2/Max 10)

Introduction to Free Skating

This class is for skaters who have passed through Beginner 1-4 or ISI Gamma and are looking for an introduction to free skating. In this class students will learn beginner jumps and spins. (Min 2/Max 10)

LEARN-TO-SKATE HOCKEY

Ages: 4-12

These classes teach the basics of skating geared to children who want to play hockey. Registration includes a jersey and a punch card for either eight free public sessions or Stick ‘N’ Puck. Equipment fitting will be on SEP 5 and NOV 7 from 5-7P.

Level 1

Learn the basics from falling and recovery to a basic hockey stance. Your skater will also learn how to stand and march across the ice on their own without assistance. (Min 10/Max 25)

Level 2

Skaters who can stand and march across the ice on their own are ready for this level. Here, they will learn basic forward skating strides, stopping (snow plow) and be introduced to backward skating. (Min 5/Max 25)

Level 3

Skaters will learn how to complete crossover marches (forward and backward) and stopping. Edge work for turning will also be covered more in depth. (Min 5/Max 20)

In order to enroll in this class, your player must know how to skate backward, crossover, stop without running into the boards, skate from one side of the rink to the other and be able to turn in both directions — all without falling. The CORE Soccer Training Staff will run and oversee all game sessions. This one-hour program will focus on ball control in small spaces while creating the skills needed to attack and score goals. The main topics covered during these sessions will be ball control, passing, receiving and finishing on goal. Each week the staff will choose teams based on skill level and fairness of the game. In this class, we will learn important ways to stay safe and provide your child with a self defense toolkit of knowledge. We will talk about how to recognize dangerous situations, what to do if a stranger approaches you, ways to ask for help if you feel scared and anti-bully tactics. Little Cooks is a beginner's course designed to show kids how enjoyable cooking can be! Are you looking for a way to better the community you live in? This once-a-month, one-hour volunteer program will take place on the third Wednesday of each month, except November.
