Message from the Director:

As summer draws to a close and fall comes upon us, the Parks and Recreation Department has some awesome programs and activities lined up to keep your family fit, healthy and having fun. It is important, now more than ever, that we remain active both as individuals and as community members. Not only is it crucial for your physical well-being, but it is also just as important for your mental health. From toddlers to seniors, the Department really does have something for everyone! The Parks and Recreation Department’s top priority is to promote safety, health and well-being. If the COVID-19 pandemic has taught us anything, it is that the community values all three. We excel at providing recreational opportunities for the community by offering enrichment classes, youth and adult sports, opportunities to exercise, senior programs, community events and great parks with a lot of open space. Please browse through the features of our brochure and get involved by signing up for a class, purchasing a facility pass or attending one of the special events in the community. The Parks and Recreation Department hosts a number of community events and activities for the whole family. There are many different youth and adult activities to choose from including Wentzville's Fall Festival. This family-friendly event continues to grow and offers live entertainment to celebrate the arrival of the fall season. Our parks provide many outdoor recreational opportunities such as playgrounds for all ages, walking/jogging trails and fishing at Heartland and Rotary parks. With the cooler weather coming, don’t miss the opportunity to check out the fall colors in one of Wentzville’s many parks. If you are interested in learning more about our volunteer opportunities, please visit our Department’s volunteer webpage at www.wentzvillemo.gov/volunteer. We are working diligently to get ready for the opening of our brand-new Wentzville Rec Center. The project is nearing the halfway point in the construction process and we anticipate it opening around midyear in 2022. We are all excited to see this facility take shape on Wentzville Parkway and invite you to enjoy its many features when the time is appropriate. From all of us at Wentzville Parks and Recreation, we hope you and your family and friends will take the time to get out and enjoy all of the great parks, facilities, programs and events that are available in Wentzville!
