2021 Employee of the Year Wilmar Garcia, Food & Beverage Service Wilmar is a member of our food & beverage service team and has become a jack of all trades, trained and willing to work in all outlets at the Club. Operations have changed rapidly throughout the past year, and Wilmar has stepped up to assist in all areas, often bringing several uniforms to work to ensure he is prepared. During the shutdown, he was even part of a team that committed to painting all of the trim throughout the clubhouse! Wilmar's positive and welcoming attitude never wavers as he is happy and pleasant to all. He is someone who is passionate about his work and always willing to go the extra mile, not because he is asked, but because it is the right thing to do and he genuinely enjoys it. Thank you Wilmar for all that you do, we are incredibly lucky to have you!

TENNIS

Men's Singles Club Championship: Anders Pearson, Champion and Chris Douglas, Finalist

Winterization of the Tennis Facility Thomas Eek, Director of Tennis

When temperatures get below 32 degrees for several hours, the clay courts freeze. As the temperatures rise the courts begin a thawing out process that takes anywhere from a few hours to the whole day depending on the climate conditions. With a deep freeze, the clay needs to be rolled, compacted, and have the lines pushed down by hand. This is a very slow process, but we do whatever we can to get the clay courts open on a daily basis. In early December, the southside windscreens on the courts were taken down for the sun to help speed up the thawing process. Our 4 hard courts are blown for leaves daily and are always playable unless it rains or snows. We appreciate your patience when the temperatures plunge over night. Let's hope for a mild winter!
