GREG BEST MEMORY... My best memory was opening for Jazzy Jeff at Drexel University in Philly. I spent the night in NY & drove to Philly. We hung out with the students after the show which made the trip so much more amazing. I actually met Chiddy Bang (EMI)! EVOLUTION... I have been performing & building my brand since 2005. This was the year of the tragic Hurricane Katrina. From that moment, i decided I’d spend the rest of my life doing what I love. Style... I am a collage of all of my inspirations, stylistically and musically. INFLUENCES... I am influenced most by Prince, Maxwell, Donny Hathaway, & Marvin Gaye. CHANGING MOMENT... Candy Girl indeed was the changing moment. This was my freshman year of college, so my college experience was heightened, I’d be studying one moment, then performing for thousands the next. MESSAGE... The message behind the “Time Is Now” was just as the title stated “The Time is Now to share my journey with the world. OPINION... I admire all art, but my opinion is Art should inspire. Today’s music is degrading & lacking nourishment for the mind of our youth. ORIGINALITY... I am so original because I accept my individuality and calling to embrace what I was made to be. PROJECTS... This summer I plan to release my second Independent Album “Gentlemen’s Journal” & put together a tour (15 cities or more) along with some International Projects. New Face of Soul Music? Greg Banks is indeed the new face of fearlessness, a fresh blend of soul, funk & R&B!
“Today’s music is degrading & lacking nourishment for the mind of our youth.”
LOCATION... I am a New Orleans, Louisiana native.

“
there’s a guy who stayed true to the art and not the politics of the music industry.” Interview by M.Brown MOTIVATIONS... My main motivation is singing and performing. It is what I truly and honestly love to do. The gratification from the crowd when i do a show is really a good feeling. That’s hard to describe.
PROJECTS... I’ve just signed this new deal with Twenty Two Recordings/Captiol Records/EMI. So i hope to have the single out very shortly. Also just doing shows in every city that will have me.
MUSIC BACKGROUND... Soul, soul, and more soul. LOL!
OPINION... My opinion is that, it’s a lot of great artists out, but I feel we need more balance. Like for instance, to me, a lot of the male singers are doing the same thing. Same tone, same riffs, same type of tracks, same writing style. I would like to hear more artist that can really sing.
EVOLUTION... My music has evolved in a lot of ways. Back then when i did work with Keith Sweat and the group. I wasn’t really writing back then. The group had two main writers plus Keith, so it was kind of hard to express myself. Now that I’m solo, you really get Jason Little; and what I’m trying to say and convey to my audience. But you still get that soulful feeling as you did when I was with the group. HIGHLIGHTS... The first highlight I would have to say is me and the guys of Ol’ Skool, getting signed to Keith Sweat’s label and working with him. Secondly, I would have to say just being a part of Trey Songz camp and the touring. Just all the fun we had on the road, plus being around producer Troy Taylor, learning things from him. He has produced so many legends in the game. He is Trey Songz producer, mentor, and the CEO of Songbook/Atlantic Records. And lastly, I would say just still being able to make music, making new deals; thats a highlight for me.
LINKS... I can be reached on twitter @iamjasonlittle Also for booking contact (314) 246-0473 ADVICES... First: make sure you get a lawyer to look over any paperwork. And always be yourself and do what’s in your heart. Sometimes people will try to change you and try to get you to be what they think you should be. And never ever give up, if this is what you really want to do. TOP 3... Charlie Wilson, Trey Songz, and Monica.
REPUTATION... I want people to think that there’s a guy who persevered the struggles of life, all the criticism from people; saying that I’m too soulful and you can’t do that in “todays” music. To say there’s a guy who stayed true to the art and not the politics of the music industry. And “that boy sure can sing!”

J NOBLE “We wanted to start a movement that our city has never seen before.” For people who don’t know, Who is J Noble? Ceo of monstarzent./music artist from Toronto a.k.a Talk of the town... A well rounded individual,a loyal player to my crew an the one the ladies look for. You’ve been doing different music videos recently, do you feel that’s the best way to market your music? Yes i do. I try to release a new video every month if not two. Right now, the way the internet has taken over you gotta be very consistent with the fans. You got artist all over the world releasing new material daily for free online. So i stay on top of my game. When someone ask, “have you seen the new Noble video”? Your reply should be “which one”?! Personally I got a big crush on the single “I Go Hard”. How did the public welcome that single? They loved it. Its a great record and it got the response i was looking for. Few radio station are sleeping on it, but they will catch on shortly. the video was shot all over the city of Toronto, mostly in the downtown core area. I want you to share with us the story of the Monstarz. Whats the story behind your movement? Ok well Monstarz was started roughly 3 years ago by myself & my partner Speng Tha Don. We are both owners also artists. Basically, we wanted to start a movement that our city has never seen before. A group of artist that consistently give the fans great music and staying in the public eyes. Something like Young Money or MMG. The first artist we brought on board was Jae Loc along with my female artist Golde London. The team has now beefed up for the 2012 with Flip Watson, Gizzle and Connon Rocwell look out for them this summer, just some simple raw talent and we rolling over anything in our way.
2012 seems to be a very important year for you in your career. Can you introduce us to the “Pure White Album”? Pure White is what i’ve been cooking up for my fans for awhile now. I really express a lot of things that i’ve been wanted to rap about. Got some crazy production on there, it’s gonna be a good feel for the summer, bringing out a whole new side of me. We got a few project before the album drops so look out for : Flip watson “Chapter 21 No Mercy” Golde London “Fly High” Jae Loc “OMB” and my new mixtape “No Flight Zone” N.F.Z Is Toronto an interesting city for underground artist who want to shine? It’s very interesting because there is so much talent here and we’re hungry. Drake open some doors, so the city is on top of its game right now. Do you have connections with French Canadians artists as well? or outside of canada? Yeah i work with my Canadians all the time, there’s crazy talent here all over. Not to much outside of Canada, i have a record called after that with Vado on the remix. I’m working on a collabo with Lil playboii as well. I did a record with K Koke so there’s a few, and a few more in the making.. What is your message to our readers? Pay fully attention to what going on Monstarz are on a rise. KENWILL “My music represents the struggle and is very versatile as well.” Why did you choose to leave NJ for Miami? Growing up in NJ, there wasn’t room for growth with my current situation. However, I got a call from Noire the Queen of Urban Erotic Tales who’s an author from the streets of New York whose hip-hop erotic stories pulsate with urban flavor. I produced 5 songs for the “Thong on Fire” soundtrack that went Platinum within a week of being released. I also produced the music for the song called, “I’m a Beast,” for Rapper 50Cent. Noire is the #1 Essence bestselling author of G-Spot, Candy Licker, 50 Cent’s Book (Baby Brother), and Thug-A-Licious. She’s also the editor-inchief of NOIREMagazine.com. After graduating from high school, I decided I wanted to pursue my college education in Recording Arts from Full Sail University in Florida. I was looking for a bigger challenge to grow in my career and relocating to Miami, FL presented a few great opportunities. One of the opportunities included a chance to work with producer and engineer, Mark Roofe, R.Kelly’s former producer who is now CEO of M5 Media Group & former VP of Tav Dash Records. He played a big role in the success of Singer/ Songwriter R.Kelly. Mark Roofe is a very accomplished music business professional and engineer, who hired me to produce songs for M5 Media Group. His rap sheet includes winning a Grammy Award for engineering, earning platinum honors. He has worked with big names like T.I., Pitbull, Desloc of Piccalo, Rick Ross, Trick Daddy (Hollow Tip Studios), Gloria Estefan, Betty Wright, Blaze, P.M., Sien(Terror Squad), Platano, No Good, Dirt Bag, T.H.C.(305hiphop.com).There were limited opportunities in the direction I wanted to go in and Miami presented a sound opportunity that matched with my qualifications as a producer. How did you become familiar with SNS & Qwote? I started off as an intern, and they needed a web designer for Owote’s website. Due to my skills in web mastering, I was of reffered a contract for designing and marketing Qwote’s website. I also did extensive promotion and music marketing which helped to launch the career of Pop and R&B singer/songwriter “Owote”.
16
Owote’s hit single, “Throw Your Hands Up” featuring Pit Pull and Lucenzo went “Double Platinum”. I took on the challenge of working with SNS, which led to a permanent position within the music industry. This is how I became familiar with SNS. What type of equipment do you use to create music? For music hardware, I use the Roland Fantom-S, MPC 1000, 2000, 2000XL. In terms of software, I use Protools 10, Logic Pro and Reason 5. With the new software’s & technologies, it’s so easy to make a beat today. But what is the difference between a beatmaker & a hit maker? If you could be in studio with a famous artist... I would have to say Grammy Award Winning, Pop and R&B singer Chris Brown & Hip-Hop Rapper Rick Ross who are both amazing artist and performers as well. A lot of Chris Brown’s musical compilations are similar to the type of tracks that I produce as well Rick Ross and his captivating music. Chris Brown’s success in the music industry brings mainstream versatility by incorporating Dub step records on his recent Grammy Award Winning album entitled, “F.A.M.E”. Rick Ross’s recent album, “God Forgives I Don’t,” has impacted the Hip-hop music game with real-life struggles and adversities. My music represents the struggle and is very versatile as well. For all the fans, what’s is your upcoming project? Upcoming projects include Rapper 3-60, Pop and R&B Singer/ Songwriter (N.V) Nicole-Virginia out of Chicago, IL who’s currently working on her upcoming album, “N.V Revealed”, Rapper Killogram 3 of Atlantic Records who was recently featured on 106 & Park. I will also be working with Singer/Songwriter Nino Breeze on his upcoming album. I produced most of 3-60’s album entitled, “I Got The Throne”. I have an upcoming production tour in the UK. These are a few of my upcoming projects.

How did you start rapping? When we were younger in our community, a lot of guys were rapping so we quicky picked up on it and getting more interested in writing and recording music. We started getting feed back off the songs we did on the computer. So that pushed us to keep going and here we are today! What gives you your inspiration in your songs? We all have Real life expericences in the group so when we’re in the studio, we feed off of each other. Being from NS (Canada), is it harder to shine for an underground artist ? yeah we come from a small place, not a big city like NY or Toronto. So we are trying to get our music to really pop in a place like Nova Scotia. it’s hard! Not every one fucks with your music when you are local and dont have a big name. They think no ones gonna blow up out of Nova Scotia doing this rapping thing! Put your city on the map is your goal ? yeah, that’s the goal at the end of the day. It’s always the goal to get your city recognized for the talent coming out of it but our goal is much bigger than that. We’re trying to do it bigger than anybody ever did in this city. We’re trying to put the main focus on Nova Scotia. When Drake came out, the focus was on toronto and still is on toronto and we’re trying to create the same buzz for our city . We can supose that you got a big network out of Canada as well ? We’re just starting to reach out of canada. We started getting some air play in the UK and South Africa and some ATL radio stations. We have been working on getting some shows out of canada and trying to reach out to some promotors. Especially with U.S artists ? yeah, we have been getting a lot of love from the U.S. We have worked with a couple artists supastar out of Richmond, VA and J Hood from Yonkers, NY, former D-block member and Dj Asap money gang but we’re really trying to break in to the U.S market as well by creating a buzz with up and coming us artist as well.
PUT THEIR CITY ON THE MAP! What are your motivations? State City Gang is made up of three people Lynxz, Meiky Meikz and Yung Diggs young and very modivated artist trying to be successful. We’re trying to build a strong fan base and leave our mark in this game. When you hear the name State City Gang, we want you to think “Lynxz, Meiky Meikz and Yung Diggs are in the builden” or when you’re in the club, you hear SCG, we want you to know they’re about to play a banger. What makes you got next as a top artist coming from Canada? Our motivation and our work ethic... Some people just say ok, we’re next up because we’re hot and we got songs with him and him... naw we’re next up because we’re out here working like crazy featuring on tapes every month, dropping tapes every month, doing shows every month, dropping videos, we’re out here working and hard work pays off!

B. MARX Being from Montreal, Who are the producers who did influence your music? Being from Montreal, there is a lot that you can listen to, and it’s very open to music from everywhere. I been making beats since i can remember but I would say that Kanye West was my first influence, like, this is what i want to do. Through the wire made it for me. Just the beat itself tells a story. It just pulls out real emotions, it inspires you, so there is no secret why he is considered a genius. Just Blaze made me meticulous about what i do. The way he cuts samples and transforms it to a totally different sound was crazy. They are really passionnate about their craft. I studied them closely. How did you choose your artist name? Honestly, It came from high school. Back then i was working with this guy on instrumentals and he was like yo we got to find ourselves names. He had this idea to put the last name first letter before his first name, so i became B.Marc, but the c was corny to me lol. At that time my mom had this book about Karl Marx, i actually read the book and found interesting things about this individual so i became B.MarX, it stuck to me, it was hot.
Please describe your sound? I believe that music is an extension of your feelings, its a way to express yourself. I am versatile. As a human being you cant be happy all the time, angry all the time, you have various feelings. My emotions reflect on my music. One of my beats that i made was called Last memories, Its very dark and brings nostalgia. I remember during that time i just lost one of my close friends and hum i took it hard so it came from the heart so my sound is heartfelt music. People can relate to these emotions. What is your vision of Hip Hop future? My vision of Hip Hop is something that will be bigger, that will continue to grow. It has such an impact on various aspects. It is international. Back then, you had to be from New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta to be recognized, now u got people from Pittsburgh, Toronto, i mean its huge. Rappers can have sold out show everywhere globally. There will be more opportunities for different regions that was not on the radar. My city, we never tought that Young Jeezy , French Montana, Lil Wayne would come here. But we coming too, Toronto did the first step, we are coming gradually. There is a lot of talent here.
What production setup do you have? I started with the MPC 2000 but it belonged to a friend so when we cut ties, i had no more access to it lol. I was playing with different programs and at some point my cousins girlfriend back then had Fl studio and its funny to say now but she introduced me to it. Eventually i got better, now im using FL studio 10.
Do you listen to other genre of music? Yep. I feel like every producer should broaden their horizon. It brings creativity, There are a lot of different sounds out there. It gives inspiration, just sticking to what you know, you wont be able to grow. I listen to all types of music. I can listen to Al Green then John Denver. At the end you get that sound plus that sound it equals a unique different sound, i did the math.
With all those new software & equipments, is it easier to make a beat today? Definitely. Personnaly the greatest thing about those innovations is the ability to work at a faster pace. Back then you couldnt bring your material anywhere. I dont have to be at a certain location to work on a beat. I bring my laptop, my headphones and im good. It helps my productivity. Absolutely.
Whats are your upcoming projects for 2012? For this year, Just work hard, keep going, you cant go wrong with that. My team, UMS, they make sure i get exposure and make as much noise as we can, Im definitely going to the top, its just a matter of time, Im working with local artists right now and im looking to expand my portfolio. Its going to be a hell of a year.
www.soundclick.com/b.marx
What got you into music? How was the local west indian scene over there? I was raised listening to good music. My mom used to play Bob Marley, Gregory Isaac, Lucky Dube, to Elton John, Phil Collins and many more. As I grew up, I got really captivated by hip hop. I can remember like it was yesterday. 2Pac’s “Changes” and Snoop Dogg’s “ Gin n’ Juice” was playing on the radio, and I used to record all the tracks that I liked on cassettes, kind of home made “mixtapes”. Then at the age of 12, it all took a different turn. I took the decision to start buying my own cds. So, I walked to the cd store, and there I was standing looking at all the latest albums when suddenly my eyes flashed on Snoop’s “ The game is to be sold not to be told”. Inspiration started building up slowly and I started writing little after little. Ever since I bought all of Snoop Dogg’s cds from the oldest to newest. At the age of 16, I left my native island and went to France to pursue my studies in International Trade. There, I started to put more time in writing and working on my flow. At a point, I ended up with a pair of ill tracks and ended up jumping in the booth. From the booth I took it to the streets and from the streets to the stage, then to underground and official mixtapes. Saint-Martin is divided in two. There’s the french side and the dutch side. Both sides are filled with talent, but the mentality is a terrible problem! Hip hop is not all the way in the morals here, so there aren’t much shows involving hip hop. If you don’t kiss the ass of people organizing shows and getting air play on the local stations, you won’t get out there. I came back to St-Martin in order for my people to support me and get back out in the music scene. But for now, I’m aiming towards the U.S, European, andAsian markets. Were you influenced by other genres of music like zouk, kompa, soca etc? Reggae music. It showed me how to pass a message through words. Words are so powerful that whether you want to share reality, fun, happiness, sadness, hate, love... Why are you so different from other artists? Originality, motivation and determination. Music is my life! No music, No life!!! I’m not boasting or being cocky, but all I need to say is, just open me the front door (of the hip hop scene), and I can guarantee you that I’ll get the rest doors open. ACTION SPEAKS LOUDER THAN WORDS!!!
P.O.M.E was the name of my own first mixtape I released in 2010. It stands for “Product Of My Environment”. If you could be in the studio working on music and have anyone in your corner, who would you have in your team and why them? Without hesitation, Wiz Khalifa and the Taylor Gang Ent. They’re killing shit right now! Mixtapes, albums, shows, videos… They’re young, talented and full of creativity. That’s the main reason I would choose them besides the fact of being a weed lover too ( LoL). I think I’d be really at ease working with them. The style of music they push is my type of shit! ( LoL ).

Share with us your project for this summer ? At the moment, I’m working on a few singles with a group named “The Galactiks Gang” from France. They’re good! Real talk. They produce beats, send them to me and i record. Then they take care of pushing them. So far we did 3 crazy tracks and right now we’re working on a summer banger. An album is in the talks trying to get that finalized. Otherwise, i’m just going to keep doing more videos for the months to come.

How did you create you duo? Our cousin Donnie had us start rapping together when we were in elementary. We were rapping everything from Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Tupac to 3X Krayzie until we started free styling our own material. Then Donnie died, due to medical complications after a surgery. So the two of us never thought to stop making music, it was even more of a reason to go harder. The name came about in a smoke session throwing back ideas. We wanted something that everybody can relate to. People rock fitted caps, snapbacks etc. We personally have always been signified with wearing our fitted caps. Being from California, what made your group so original? For starters our name, the Fitted Cap Gang, which is referring to our signature style. Everybody is on the Snapback hype but not us, we fitted over here. The hats go with anything and anywhere, a lot like us and our music. We’re not thugs and we don’t gangbang. We smoke, spit rhymes, chill out. You might think, oh they are like Wiz or they are like the Luniz. But see that’s where you are wrong. We are The F.C.G. When you listen to us, you are getting an experience you can only get from us and you’ll want to hear more. “I Got Bags”...Your new single! Define this hit with three word and explain why. “Catchy”, as simple as it sounds it’s just one of those tunes that get stuck on your brain when you’re driving to work and you end up hmmm it all day. “Different”, we talk about some of the same things as the other rapper you listen to but the way we tell it to you paints the picture in HD flat screen. It never gets old. “Relatable”, it’s one of those songs that a wide range of people can relate to. We all have bag packs, living life, participating in herb or drinking, partying etc. So in that sense it can and we believe it will start a movement. I bet you want to put on a backpack right now lol

What is your definition ART? (Crook-T)It’s unique and beautiful to every individual that, sees it, hears it or touches it. It’s also expressive and important, the way a lot of us get our emotions out and get our points across. Music especially touches people from different background, culture, social classes... Any place, any time so to me ART is very important to humanity. (JajuanJ) Art is Expression! it’s that great mural. It’s that line in a verse where you breezed threw that whole song but when that part comes on you rap, it’s like you had been rapping the whole song thru. Anything artistic such as, fashion, movies etc. that you bring to the masses. Expressing the person that you are is art.
What got you into HH? I started rhyming fairly early in life, In my early teens I used to freestyle and write Rhymes w/ my best friend and now MMA cage fighter James “The Dog Beater Beast” Wagner. He and I would set in his Moms basement and record our flows on his lil Sisters toy karaoke machine or answering machine. Those were good times! Even then we listened to mainly the underground music of its time. For example Jimi listened to a lot of Cali and West Coast music. Bloods&Crips Banging on Wax Vol1 and 2, JayO Felony, Mixtapes by the late great Dj Screw etc. I listened to a lot of East Coast underground like Wu-Tang, Goodie Mob “before they blew up”, as well as OutKast, Nas, and Jay-Z etc. What gives you your inspiration in your songs? I get a lot of insight from the Cypher with my Brothers 380, Soul, K-LO and Vin Lak. Hard work, The grind, Women, Money are also inspirations. You ever look at all the esoteric symbols on the worlds money? Each $1 bill US in my case is covered in symbols and esoteric quotes! Its like a lil cotton spell written on legal tender that anyone can use to build a better or worse future for ones self. Its all depending on how you use it. I use money to help people. And art! I love the arts! Music, Painting, Poetry, Philosophy, etc... Tell us more about your recent 7tracks album « CHANGES »? Changes is available for Free DL at www.geebare.Bandcamp.com. The Album is a reflection of the crazy things I’ve been through within the past few years. First in 2008 while on tour I received terrible news I had lost the love of my life and long time friend Nicole “R.I.P” Kitten... Then in Dec. 2010, I accidentally leaned on the dogs injured paw while reaching across to grab the remote. The dog reacted by ripping off my lower lip. I looked in the mirror and all my lower teeth were exposed and my lip was gone. It was pretty brutal... All said and done it cost me 9 months rehab. $24,000 worth of plastic surgery and speech therapy. And a big challenge... LOL My Fam and BK MC Burnt MD jokingly called me the 50 cent of puncture wounds and the 24 thousand dollar Man. But once I could speak and flow again I was in the lab recording the CypherCiti.com, LR and Dj Neili Neil Coast2Coast “The Underground” Mixtape HIT single “Still a Lion”. That’s how I answer life challenges and “Changes”. « SKY AINT THE LIMIT » What does it inspire to you? The sky is only one allegorical theme that needs to be exposed as a Fallacy. We have the potential in us all to achieve greatness. And the sky ain’t the limit my Brother. The only limits we have are the ones we apply to ourselves in my opinion. Word up!

Being from GA, how can you define your music background? Well, coming from Warner Robins, Ga my musical background ranges all over the place. In the WARTOWN we have many different styles that it’s just natural that different styles overlap. Who were your artistic/musical influences growing up? Growing up I listened to a lot of Jazz, so Kenny-G, Sade, Paul Hardcastle, Incognito and Hiroshima were some of my favorite jazz influences. As far as rappers goes, Guru(his jazzmatazz series still inspires me),Nas, Talib Kweli, Little Brother, Joe Scudda, Median, Legacy, Wu-Tang, Pastor Troy. Now when it comes to producers, Lifted Productions, J.DILLA(RIP), 9TH wonder, Kanye West and Pete Rock. Tell us more about your crew « LiftedProductions »? « Lifted Productions » is more of a family than a crew. The originator of the whole thing is my boi Drew Higgins. He’s been doing beats since he was 11. We linked up after I did a year of college. Lifted Productions gathers people from all over though! Everywhere from Macon, Green Street near Northside High School, Perry… Really the whole state/US. The main difference with Lifted Productions is that we can’t/won’t be defined under one specific genre. We’re a genre of our own. As Drew and I like to call it, « Soul-Hop » ! Basically «Soul-Hop» is exactly what it says in the name. When you listen to any «LIFTED PRODUCTIONS» music, no matter the artist, you can feel the soul that they left on the track. So everytime you listen, you can feel their Pain, Happiness, whatever. Thats because it’s their Soul speaking directly to your soul. Everybody involved with Lifted Productions makes their music, not because they want to be like this person or that person, because Honestly you can’t. So we make music that makes our souls’ feel good and hopefully listeners will feel the same way in their souls when they listen. You define you as a «NOMAD» artist. «Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of life, the whole aim and end of human existance ». Aristote. What are your upcoming projects? Some projects that I have coming up are the «Lifted Productions Presents…Laughing At Them Haters» E.P. With the bonus E.P. Entitled « Paradox of Life » Hosted by DJ A.S.A.P. from A.S.A.P. MONEYGANG. Also Lifted Productions is collabing with «High Council» Rapper Nola B on his «STAR OR STARVE » Album. Hopefully coming this summer! It’s going to be a great summer for both camps just seeing our Ideas become real and allowing others to enter our world and give their ears and minds something different and enjoyable to listen to.

What were your musical influences? Can we consider that this is Church who did show you the way of ART? I was brought up from a church background and grasped the ‘real’ soul of music from church. Touring with my music around the world for Radio 1, GMTV, Eminem (Shady Aftermath), New York ‘faces in the crowd,’ the Caribbean; ‘spring break,’ the list is endless... has all helped show me the way of the art, and I have had many influences on my musical journey. One of my major inspirations and influences has been Mary J Blige, I love her music, it is heartfelt! Like mine, I also like the way that she tells a story within her song, which you can kind of relate to. I also have been inspired by singer Musiq Soulchild. His voice is golden!! Very heartfelt! And he also tells a story within his songs... Kirk Franklin, Mary Mary, Alicia Keys, Lauryn Hill, Jasmine Sulivan, Miss Lady Dynamite...the list is endless. I like music which tells a story that someone can relate to and maybe learn or live a better life. What did all your travels bring to your music? To you as a woman? Freedom, openness of the art, open- mindedness, creativity, further understanding of music and the music business, versatility. Me as a woman: love, strength, understanding, versatility, compassion. Do you listen to other forms of music out of RnB? Of course!! I don’t just stick to one genre of music!! I also like to dabble in music such as dancehall, garage, contemporary music, and come up with my own unique style. I believe all these assets can be used to complement each other and produce an effective song. As an artist, what are your ambitions? To be worldwide recognised for my art and my song-writing skills. .

Where do you come from & How did you start producing beats? I come from a small town next to Gainesville in Florida. I got a Roland MV8800 about a year and a half ago. Started pushin buttons and havn’t stopped. “1 BEAT, 1 PERSON, 1 MIC, 1 MOMENT”... Can you comment this quote? I think it’s hard sometimes to say everything we’d like. Theres alot of people talkin. Sometimes, they dont want to hear what you have to say. When you get that 1 beat, 1 person, 1 mic, 1 moment, that’s your chance to say anything, to explain anything. No questions. No interuptions. Just you talkin. If you could be in the studio working on music and have anyone in your corner, who would you have in your team and why them? Dr. Dre. I grew up on his beats. That’s the vibe i’d like to be in and apart of. 50 Cent because he’s all about buisness. And Snoop Dogg because he’d be blazin for sure. What is your opinion about the beat market in 2012? Can a producer live from his beats today? I think so. If the quality is good. There’s alot of rappers out there and i think the prices are just right for whatever your tryin to do. What are your upcoming projects for 2012? I got 3 groups goin. L.S.B. , 8 Sideways, and Ifonlee. I’m just gonna be working on perfectin the art. Pumpin out songs under these names. Where can the fans find your music online? My beats at BeatMarketWorldWide.com/Ifonlee_Productions , Our songs at Rapmonster.com/Ifonlee_Productions

DIRTY O We have seen your recent video freestyle on the IM ON ONE track. It sounds real hot. Do you plan to shoot new videos for the summer? Yeah the IM ON ONE track had generated such a buzz in my city! Shout out to Shooter for directing the video also. And yeah this summer im expecting to do a lot of BIG things so expect to see videos from music on the upcoming mixtape and music that’s not on there! That’s equally hot. Tell us more about your 4th 2 North movement. Well the 4th 2 north movement is stemmed from 2 streets that effected my life the most throughout my growing up. 4th street being one and North Ave being the other. The team consist of many rappers but due to the law many of us are serving time behind bars (Free Arrow, Dale, Perez, n Dirty Mack), so in some sense, it leaves me out here alone to carry the name and do what’s needed to make it a household name. We represent the kids who get faced with real life situations. People who understand and are constantly trying to escape the struggle. So watch out the 4th 2 north movement will be televised. What makes you feel you are the next rapper coming out of NY? I don’t really view it as a rapper coming out of NY. I believe the game is lacking the very thing that built it. Albums are losing substance and creativity now a days. Its very few artist that bring something new to the table and I feel I can be apart of that elite group. After its official and I make my stamp on the game then I leave it up to the media and fans to determine if I am or was that next rapper out of NY. What are your upcoming projects? How did you hook up with DJ ABSOLUT? Right now, im just trying to book gigs and get my peple familiar with my name. My upcoming project that I feel should be labeled the hottest mixtape of the year is hosted by DJ Absolut, titled Got A Story… Like To Hear it? Here It Go. Its so much diversity on this mixtape its sure to touch all genres. Set to drop in late May early June, I plan to have this mixtape available to everyone. Shout out to Rob at garden recordings as well for helping get it done. I actually connected with Dj Absolut at a club in the Falls, shout out to Stretch from Onpoint Ent for setting the meeting up and the rest is history. Also shout out to Jennifer Tabb at Truth By Design for all her help as well, and Sav Shea the 2 lovely women in the picture. Besides that, I can be followed @4th2north on twitter or found on reverbnation at Dirty O. Until then 4th 2 north is the movement. Be apart of something special.

Kid Called Quest
With all those new software and equipment today is it easier to make a beat today? Wow that’s a tough question and a tricky one too. i would say its at a point now where all this new stuff is at a price range where almost any person out there can get they hands on this shit. But when it comes to make beats, you still have to have the talent and the creative mind but some of the new softwears make it some what easier for people who haven’t made beats that long because everything is right there and some of the stuff do certain things for you thats why i like the machine so much because it does not make the process of creating something easy... You still have to have an ear! What is your vision of hip hop future? Im not impressed at all with the lack of originality. It is like 95% of these dudes treating HipHop like a step child who gets no love.I dont care what type of music you make... Come out and just be yourself. Stop trying to sound like Rick Ross, Meek Mill, Drake, Wayne etc... Music is supposed to be your way of expressing yourself. If you cannot be real with your music, you will never keep it real with yourself. It’s 2012 so stop playing the follower role and start playing the leader and creator role. I hope that at some point in the future, that heads will be get back to a creative mind state. That is what i really want to see. Then the vets can sit back and see that the new generation of hip hop can hold it down and carry on the tradition. Who is the team that did work with you on the “PUT YOUR HEADPHONES ON”? I did a lot of work with mad people! I got a chance to get some of the MC’s i grew up listening to get on my beats. I had features from REKS, SKYZOO, CRAIG G, BIG POOH, and a new crew i am working with from the illest Mc’s from the 585 to get on this project as well like L.I, Hassan MACKEY, ALL CIDDY, COACH P, AZARIAH, INNO... What is the main reason behind the last tape? The title of the album has a deeper meaning than most would anticipate. It is a call to experience the music on your own terms, to ignore the endless cycle of hype and gossip that consumes mostyoung artist’s careers

Pittsburgh Pa & I have always been Tjuan (TWON) and at this point i been a factor in many things for awhile. Tjuan Benafactor. How do you feel about the current state of Hip Hop? Hip Hop is on an up swing more positive feel good & socially conscious music is being made & promoted. The lead single FLY WIT ME featuring Project Pat is out now on iTunes. It’s 14 tracks total and will be distributed through Island Defjam & a portion of the profits are being donated to the American Cancer Society. How did you hook up with dj DONTPLAY ? Your story with Music... Share with us the story! I define it as a great learning process. I started off rapping at a young age of 5. Just beat boxing & trying to rap a little more like freestyles wasn’t nothing too big. Around the age of 9, I started writing music. I say around to the age of 12 by then, I tended to get away from rapping as I focused on my other love drawing til age 16 by then I started to also rap battle local artists. At age 18, I recorded my first record with a local producer by the name of Shayne. At 19, I got my own home studio with the help of another producer by the name of Q.B.. At 20, I was still writing & started to put my music on websites to get more well known. At 2I years old, I connected with 2 other producers by the names of Mikey & Detavares. Right as of now, I just been grinding to get me & my team on. Where do you come from and who were your artistic/musical influences growing up? Im come from Winnsboro, SC, born in Columbia SC. My influences growing up had to be artists such as Nas,Jay-z,2 Pac,Beggie,The Diplomats,50 Cent,Lil Wayne,UGK,etc just all types of music from different zones so many different artists. What are your upcoming projects? Well as of now i’m working on my rap group KBC (Kross Bone Click) mixtape called 1123 which features me myself Slim Jones,Young Blizz, Heatwave & Boom. Also i’m doing features with my artists such as my brother Wood Grin,Trey Ruffin,Yung Ruga,Choppa Boi,Lo Key & Suicide while doing side project songs with other artists out there really just trying to do songs with all the artists I can while connecting with producers.

How did you get your artist name? When I first started out making beats, i didn’t have a production name for myself for a while, and for a while i stuck to the same genre and people described my beats as an ignorant sound, so i started using a tag i sampled from one of my favourite shows “The Boondocks” where Gin said “Ignant” so i just ran with it.
Ignant
As an australian producer, what are your influences? Australian hip hop isn’t really my thing at all, So my influences mainly come from the American scene, As a young producer myself, i look up to a lot of other young producers and veterans alike doing their thing like Lex Luger, Southside, 808 Mafia, Cardo, Clams Casino, Big K.R.I.T and anyone that has made a sound for themselves, i just love listening to music that doesn’t sound like anything else I’ve ever heard. How is the local hip hop scene in your city? I live in a relatively small city, not too much happens around here for just hip hop, all it is around here is a lot of electro and dubstep sort of shows, i would love to get more involved with some of the local artists, opening up my sound and style even more, and hopefully building a bigger appreciation for hip hop around here. I still do get the occasional props from strangers around town for my music which is awesome to me haha. Definition of your sound? The closest way i can describe my main sound is i put a variation on trap beats, i like to make the sound adaptive so the feel of it can be changed with how you feel and what the rapper sounds like, there’s a lot of spaced out sounds and even an electro influence on some of it while the drums and bass are still aggressive. But it changes with every beat i make. I also do a lot of chilled out beats you can just sit there and vibe to. Through your art, What do you try to accomplish? I try to show people that a typical sound isn’t set and you don’t have to follow it, being creative and usually pays off even if its to show yourself you can do something different.I also am trying to get my beats out there turning a hobby into something that can hopefully support me a bit.

Through most of your recent songs, the public discovered that love for Pop/ Electro Club music. Can you tell us more about that musical evolution? I love music in general and I do whatever comes to heart. I thank god he blessed me with the abiltiy to do so many genres so well. My evolution to where i am musically is because of RnB. I played with my vocals like a toy until I mastered so many sounds and eventually, fell in love with pop. You did collaborate with so many big names like Trina, Rick Ross, Pitbull just to name a few... What do they bring to you as an artist? They bring their experience. I’ve learned so much working with them. The most important of them all is patience How does the public welcome your recent collaboration with Pitbull on the KUDURO song? At what point in your life did you know that you wanted to be a model? When I was still very very young, I realized I got lots of attention and loved it! Plus I knew I couldnt let these looks go to waste because I looked so exotic. Is Mandy Monroe is your real name or just for modeling ? Mandy is my real name, but Monroe is for the modeling. It sounds good, and my idol is Marilyn Monroe so it’s perfect. Tell us how you are unique compared to other models. what do you bring to the modeling industry? For one, I am half Russian, half Chinese, and I am curvy and tattooed... total opposite of your typical model! How is the modeling industry in Toronto? Do you feel that there are a lot of opportunities for young upcoming models? It is hard, only because in Toronto. an honset model doesnt get taken serious and very little of them earn their way up, if you know what I mean... How many tattoos you got ? & which is your favorite one? 15, and my favorite is the one on my left bicep, it’s my grandmothers writing in Russian... www.facebook.com/modelmandymonroe

A pretty girl and a shit attitude takes away from her prettiness. Who would you say is the person that did really inspire you? Marilyn Monroe. She was just so beautiful and natural... and had something special about her that nobody could explain! A wise girl kisses but doesn’t love, listens but doesn’t believe & leaves before she is left (Marilyn Monroe)... Why does this quote define you the best? KENTUCKY KANDY How long have you been in the modeling industry? I actually just started modeling professionally this year. It is a new journey for me and I hope I am able to continue it. As long as the opportunities keep arising ; I will be up for the challenge.
At what point in your life did you know that you wanted to be a model? It’s funny I’ve always loved modeling as a child and wanted to be Miss America since I can remember. But it was surreal when I won Miss Bathing Beauty at Camp Taylor Swimming Pool. I still have my trophy and will never forget that feeling of walking in front of the people and judges. I was only 10 years old at the time and the attention was overwhelming ; I loved it ! Tell us how you are unique compared to other models. what do you bring to the modeling industry? My Ink is mostly admired and allows me to stand out from the average model of today. Although I am mostly tattooed on my right side I am still able to capture beautiful photos from other angles and positions which hide my ink as well. Plus I like to think that me being a Natural Blonde with Blue eyes is special! I am ME…and there is only one ! Any Highlights so far in your career? Yes, I would love to say Thank You to Mr. Dreamz Magazine for allowing me this feature! This is one of my biggest highlights and I truly am grateful for each and everyone! I would definitely say being featured in UGFM Magazine as well as being added as one of the Official Candy Girls would also be one of my biggest highlights thus far! I am also being featured with Rebel Ink Magazine as one of the Pin-up Models, also featured in Orange Mode Magazine April 2012, Get Fused Magazine Derby Feature, Rust Queens Magazine and Urban Ink in the works ! …However ; I am just getting started so watch out… definitely MORE Kentucky Kandy to come! For you, what characteristics are the most important to succeed in this industry? I believe it is more common now to be natural and noticed for your true self. More and more fans want to see real women and not so much
of the fake or plastic women. I can only offer what GOD gave me and nothing more. I love who I am.
Who would you say is the person that did really inspire you? I would honestly have to say my mother. She always tried so hard to take me to all of the beauty pageants and model casting calls. It was not possible for us to do so due to our limited income and no form of transportation. We didn’t have much and she definitely could not afford the nice dresses nor hair sytlists as the other parents afforded to their daughters. I envy her for being such a strong woman. She raised four of us by herself and I think she did a great job. I am happy to let her know I did get to do some modeling and to be able to offer her a printed magazine with me in it. I know she will be very proud of me as I am of her! Other talents? I am actually working on a local film Kleptomaniacs. The film is written and directed by Mario ‘RIO’ Murdock and Leonard ‘DIRTY’ Carleone. I play the role of a Detective and I love it. I was nervous and wasn’t so sure I could do it but doing improve has been even more fun ! I hope to do more in the future. What do you do in your spare time when you are not modeling? Love family time most importantly, go to Gun Range, Work out, Reading, Shopping of course, and always love getting pampered at the salon! How old were you when you had your first kiss and paint us the picture? I was about 12 years old and we were playing truth or dare in my garage. I was dared to french kiss a boy named Mikey. So I just went in for it… he was sitting in a chair and I grabbed him and stuck my tongue in his mouth. It was definitely akward but I think we both enjoyed it…lol ! If you had to sleep with one woman who would it be? I have never thought of this one lol but I would have to say Halle Berry…she is definitely sexy and I loved her in Monster’s Ball!
