About OWIP: Our World In Pictures (http://www.ourworldinpictures.com) was developed in 2009 by photographers Jeff and Christina Gora of Lexington, KY. Centered around the kids at East 7th St. Center, - OWIP is a mentoring through photography program for underprivileged children, creating a positive means of expression, a way to connect to their community, and a way to understand their world through the art of photography. The goal for each child participating in OWIP, through the creative process of photography and one-on-one relationships with their mentor, is to experience personal growth, building a higher self-image and greater awareness of themselves and the environment in which they live. Through "photo-field trips" with the assigned mentors each child gets the opportunity to practice the techniques they learn in class while building stronger and more positive relationships with both the mentors and those around them. Mentors themselves are expected to be committed and work towards being the best they can be in playing the role as both a professional photographer and as a positive role model. Once again, here at OWIP, we are dedicated to enriching the lives of each child and through each child we hope to enrich the lives of others. About Rene Hales & Mary Rezny:
