STAGE ONE: EGG The first stage of a turtles life cycle is the egg. The female turtle lays her eggs in a nest and covers them. Some turtles lay one egg, others lay 100 eggs or more. Eggs can also be soft they can be round and oval.
The nest is called a CLUTCH( a nest) (group of eggs. The group of eggs is buried in a deep sandy hole. The group of eggs can break open anywhere between two months to a year later.

STAGE TWO: HATCHLING Each baby turtle uses a sharp egg tooth to break its egg shell and get out
Newly hatched turtles push and dig their way out of the nest to hide from predators.

STAGE THREE: ADULT After ten years turtles grow slowly. Turtles can live 150 years or more. Most turtles are ready to mate when they are 20. Some turtles are vegetarians and others are carnivores.
