I’m a PreK-5th grade school librarian in sunny San Antonio, Texas. I’m starting my 14th year in education and loving every minute of it (except that early alarm clock). In my Teachers Pay Teachers store, you’ll find products for busy school librarians, to engage and teach your library learners. Here are a few of my favorites.

I could not run our library without the library cards I’ve created. For my 1st through 5th graders, I give them a stamp or hole punch on their card each week, when they return or renew their books. For kindergarten and preK, I add stickers and give reminders as a bracelet or backpack tag.

My students love the challenge of a library scavenger hunt. I’ve got a growing mega bundle of library scavenger hunts that teach library skills in a fun, competitive way!

With my littles, I start every year out by talking about our book babies and how we treat them. I don’t know why, but it really sticks with them when I explain book care this way!

Do your students love “Would You Rather?” as much as mine do? We use these questions to review fiction genres, in library centers or small groups.

I am heading into my sixth year in the library. I have just gone through setting up a brand new library learning commons and am now lucky enough to have an actual maker space. I have also become the tech queen in my building. I have also taught Kindergarten, Three, Six, Seven and Eight. And if that weren’t enough, I spent five years throughout all of this working as a literacy coach for part of my day. Needless to say I have a wealth of knowledge and am sharing it here with you! I love to use technology in my teaching and much of my time as teacher librarian seems to be spent with technology. Coding was the number one item teachers asked me to do with their class this year! Five different stations, each taking 2 40-50 minutes periods. Note: computers and iPads are used with the activities in this resource.

The Trapped Librarian Hello fellow Teacher Librarians! My name is Laura Trapp and I have been an elementary school librarian since 2005. I was a first grade teacher for 9 years and taught grades 3, 4, & 5 before that, for a grand total of over 29 years of elementary teaching experience. I feel so fortunate to live in the beautiful state of Montana, where I love spending time outdoors hiking, kayaking, and skiing. I love my job, but we all know it can sometimes get overwhelming. Between your own teaching duties, supporting your teachers in their instruction and your students in their learning, as well as managing your diverse library collections & activities – you have your hands full! My goal is to give you high quality materials to save you time and help you make your library the vibrant center of your school that it should be! I am passionate about creating opportunities for my students and I to connect with others outside of our school library. If you have a project or an idea that we can be part of, I hope you’ll get in touch!

Be well and have fun!

Laura

Librarian Vickie Teacher Pay Teacher Store

https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Store/Librarian-Vickie Just a little bit about my store and me - I am a middle school librarian in North Carolina. I have 22 years experience as a school librarian. I love reading, research and middle school students. My store contains only products that I have personally used with students in my library. Please take to time to check out all of my products. I will highlight one of my favorite products below.

Speed Dating with Books! - $2.00 https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/SpeedDating-with-Books-1333712 This is one of my all time favorite products. Speed Dating with Books is a great, fun activity that allows students to find a quality book to read. Provide a candy kiss at the end of the activity and it will be a sure hit. I am planning to use this activity during my library orientation.

If you are a practicing teacher-librarian or library media specialist, and you would like to add your TpT Store to this catalog, please email Mrs. J in the Library at MrsJintheLibrary@gmail.com for more information.
