Nativists VS Immigrants: Who will succeed?
In our day and age of the 1920s there is conflict over immigrants coming to America and Nativists views- who believe Immigrants customs and views as “un-american”. It is a new era, a generation of individuality and self-prosperity but yet we are not supposed to include immigrants in these new advancements… Honestly when will we move on from this? We believe that these immigrants are not hampering America with their “un-american” views but nurturing it and breathing it new life. There was a sudden boom of immigration recently and this sudden rush of immigrants is not new to the US and neither is nativism. These immigrants come from many walks of life- from Southern to Western Europe and from Asia to Mexico… also many other countries. These immigrants had many reasons for coming here- escape war/famine stricken countries, America's prosperous job opportunities, reuniting with family/friends, and many other reasons but basically give them hope, let's remember... based on our original invitation. Nativism saw its huge uprising in the 1820s-1850s due to the response of the Irish Catholic Immigration. It never really settled down completely but saw its uprising again when immigration sparked nearly a century later in the 1920s (today). You may have even heard of a certain large nativists groups such as- the KKK, the Ku Klux Klan and the American Party, the Know-nothings. Nativism was not a small issue either millions upon millions of Americans agreed on these beliefs of Immigrants disrupting America.
And that's the only reason they have. They have no other proof beyond that statement, that is incredibly unfair and unjust. Imagine coming to new foreign land with very little money, a poor education, a large family that depends on you, and not only that but a large group of people who have no empathy for the situation and are trying whatever they can to make you go home… when there is no home to go back too. That would be unimaginably hard to go through. Immigrants can not even do anything about it… just pray that one day this will end. Now you may be thinking what have Nativists all done to hinder immigrants advancements into this new world. Well as I said there is the KKK and the Know-Nothings. Now let me tell you what extreme nativist would do to try to drive immigrants away. Extreme nativist have murder and burn homes to the ground and in many cases killing or leaving children without parents. In one case they even broke a Jewish man out of jail and hung him for murdering a white girl. In texas alone had 468 lynching mostly black but some latino and one native american. Most lynching happens in the deep south for example the hanging of 11 italian workers. As you can see they were very gruesome and inhumane… And once again for what good reason?

Immigrants of the US Who are the Immigrants coming to America? And are there values good or bad?
Its pretty hard to ignore that there has been a lot of tension between immigrant citizens and American-born citizens recently. In my opinion I am curious why?- Why is there such a distaste for these certain groups of people?, and What have they ever done to you?… Well I decided to indulge a little on this current issue. So first of all recently there has been an influx of immigrants coming to the United States from all over (we will touch on where later in the paper), but the questions above still linger…. Well to answer these questions were going to have to go back just a little bit and learn some recent history... As you may know, the 1920s (currently, unless you're living under a rock) is a marvelous time for men and women alike, hence our name for it- “The Roaring Twenties”. It seems as though everyone and everything is advancing and doing great- that this Utopia will never end! And how could it● New businesses like Ford are booming ● Stocks are incredibly high and distributing wealth to many households ● Babe Ruth is our Baseball hero everyone loves ● TV’s and other amazing innovations are being released and rising in popularity ● and The Eighteenth Amendment was passed leading to celebration and self status everywhere for women But of course all of this celebration is leading to controversy such as the prohibition of alcohol, which leads to speakeasies, and one of the sole causes of the mafia (organized crime). The Charleston, which is sweeping America, and the seductive laid-back style of music called Jazz- A true renaissance of this new era. So life has been great in the 1920s, right? Well, not exactly. If you were an immigrant living in the United States, life wasn’t as grand as it appeared. Immigrants arriving to the United States from Southern and Eastern Europe and Asia faced many challenges such as disadvantages from poor education, little to no money to start their lives. They also could
be deported for really unjust reasons. And they were discriminated against by white protestants and American catholics based on their non-American customs/ethics and their religion (Nativism). These immigrants were hated on so much because of many reasons, for exampleThey increased the population rapidly and the poverty rate. They also had poor education and usually could not speak english and they brought disease and problems from their countries. Which (these accusations) are pretty unfair because most of these issues were over exaggerated, unfair, or just not true… Immigrants were facing many problems themselves without being ethnically stereotyped. Just imagine coming to a foreign land with your wife and children with no money, a poor education, and speaking a whole different language while facing the fear of being sent right back where you came from! That would be insane and terrifying! Immigrants do many good things for this country that we have not ever really realized. They help fuel the economy and contribute to not only working jobs but creating jobs! They also made America more cultured and diverse, imagine how isolated and less globalized we would be without them! My point and conclusion is America was founded on the idea of allowing anyone who wants a fresh start, a hopeful promise… a chance, the right to try and to achieve whatever they wish for. Are we really just going to do the take that from them? Is this hate really worth it?

Immigrants of the 1920s Were their values good or bad?
Immigrants Who Came To U.S. In the 1920ś, there were over 430,000 immigrants that came over to the U.S. from various countries. Foreigners included Europeans, Asians, Mexicans, Canadians, and a vast number of others from a wide variety of countries. Many of the Mexican immigrants ended in the Southwest of the States and worked on farms. The Europeans came to the Southern and Western specifically, with many Asians settling in the West and Northwest. Because of the large numbers entering, the United States eventually had to communicate with other countries to work out compromises as far as how many immigrants the U.S. could accept.
Fear of Immigrants To many in the United States already, there was a growing fear of new immigrants and the “baggage” they would bring with them. Many citizens were afraid of Radicalism. This was a point of view, favoring extreme change, could happen to the social and economic structures in cities they lived. Communism was also an issue that many feared some immigrants would bring. The more different a person was, or the country they were from, from the American view of living, eventually caused less immigrants to come to the United States. But those that came were taking jobs and causing great destruction. People were quick to hire them because they were willing to get paid less. These type of concerns eventually caused the government to create the Emergency Quota Act / National Origins Act,which restricted the number of immigrants that were allowed to come to America. Kkk were anti-immigrant. Immigrants started to come to america more and more, they were targeted and seen as uncivilized un-americans. They discriminated them in harsh ways, which included lynching. NAACP, was a group that was against lynching and discrimination against ethnicities. Ellis Island, where immigrants went through to get to the U.S., and New York, it was built in 1892. Not everybody got to get into the U.S.
im brought this hard work attitude to others.
Nativism The rising tide immigrants triggered a resurgence of nativism. Many nativists feared that the closest immigrants would never become 100% american. Along with calls for immigration restriction. Beginning at the end of the nineteenth century immigration into the United States rocketed to never before seen heights. Many of these new immigrants were coming from eastern and southern Europe and for many English speaking, native born Americans of northern European descent the growing diversity of new languages customs and religions triggered anxiety and racial animosity. The sense of fear and anxiety over the rising tide of immigration came to a head with the trial of Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti. Sacco and Vanzetti were Italian immigrants who were accused of participating in a robbery and murder in Braintree, Massachusetts, in 1920. There was no direct evidence linking them to the crime, but in addition to being immigrants both men were anarchists who favored the destruction of the American market-based, capitalist society through violence. At their trial, the district attorney emphasized Sacco and Vanzetti’s radical views, and the jury found them guilty on July 14, 1921.
immigrants Values They were good because they were willing to do jobs other Americans would not do. They were willing to work hard to create a good life for their families, and they brought this hard work attitude to others.

The Reborn KKK By Joe Vesely
Did the increase in immigration cause the rebirth of the KKK? In a way yes since they mainly attacked immigrant neighborhoods. 430,000 migrants came from mostly southern or eastern europe bring new religious beliefs and culture. I think many cultures may be beneficial for america and that these crimes are barbaric. The rebirth of the KKK started in Atlanta, after they hung Leo Frank, a Jewish store manager, after he was found guilty for the murder of Mary Phagan. They saw themselves as the defenders of the American values. They had size and power. They had legislatures in Oregon, Oklahoma, Texas, and Indiana and marched in D.C and other major cities. Along with marches they committed murder, arson, kidnapping. A rise in Jewish immigrants over the past year caused a anti semitism way of life. Many colleges were christian only or limited to a few like Harvard since 1903s has limited the number of Hebrews in their classes. In the case of Leo Frank it also led to the formation of ADL Anti Defamation League this leagues main goal is to stop the false accusations of jewish people like in the case of Leo Frank. The kkk even attack asians coming over. They lived in burrows or small communities outside the major cities and were attacked the same way African Americans were post civil war like the hangings in New orleans where they hung 11 italian workers.
In conclusion I think the rise of immigration is a huge cause of the rebirth of the KKK. Since immigrants usually bring over new experiences I don't like how these crimes are going almost unpunished they are killing innocent people without punishment. I think jail time or death would be a good sentence for these crime. In the end i think better minds will find a way to end racism in this nation.

Nativists
Currently in our era of the 1920s there has been a large number of immigrants coming to the US. This is,as resulted in segregation and discrimination of the many races of new and old immigrants alike. Most of this widespread is the result of Nativists. You may be wondering why? You may be wondering how? And you also may be wondering who even are Nativists? Well in this article iḿ going to touch on all these questions. what are nativists? Nativists is a policy of protecting the interests of native inhabitants against those of immigrants. Good viewsA backlash against immigrants and modernism led to the rural areas disagreed on the meaning of a good life and how to achieve it.The women who pioneered these trends were frequently referred to as flappers.
Bad viewsConflicts arose concerning what was considered acceptable and respectable and what ought to be proscribed or made illegal.During the 1920s the population in cities rapidly grew. The view that women and minorities were entitled to equality became increasingly prevalent in urban areas especially among the educated.
