STEFAAN VAN HOOYDONK

Stefaan van Hooydonk started his career in investment consulting in China. From there he moved to set up the executive education arm of a major business school in Shanghai (CEIBS), which he ran for 5 years. Subsequently, he was asked to become head of Nokia’s corporate University in Greater China. After having successfully set up eLearning for Nokia’s 20+ sites and 8,000 employees in China, he was asked to become Nokia’s Global eLearning Director. In this role, he was responsible for Nokia’s global eLearning strategy, responsible for setting direction, implementing strategy and ensuring that eLearning was integrated throughout the company’s training and development processes, both for Nokia’s employees, but also for Nokia’s partners and end-users. In fact, he set up structures and processes for Nokia to reach 200 million eLearners. He was also the driving force behind the company’s goal of introducing mobile learning and ‘edu-gaming’ to users around the world. He then moved onto Agfa where he was Head of the Academy, and brought in to modernise and innovate the training function. He was asked to innovate learning for employees and customers @ Philips HQ in the role of global CLO for its Lighting division in 2010. He introduced the notion of ‘’speed to knowledge’’ across the entire ecosystem, resulting in a big focus on digital learning, knowledge transparency and informal learning. Since August 2015, Stefaan is living and working in Bangalore as CLO for Flipkart, India’s largest online retailer and is trying hard to unlearn: for a new age company full of millennials and in a fast moving economy: he is setting up the Flipkart University as a vehicle for people and organisations to accelerate their (un)learning in the in the 21st century.

David has been the Head of the Corporate University for Management in Paris since joining the EDF Group in 2007. Since taking up this position, he has overseen an expansion in the number of programmes and the scope of the University’s work towards management development. The Corporate University addresses more 26 thousand managers across the Group in a variety of settings, languages and methodologies. In 2014, the University contributed to the creation of EDF new leadership model. In 2008 and 2012, the European Foundation for Management Development awarded the international accreditation CLIP. A Corp University Exchange winner in Philadelphia in 2012, and EFMD winner in Olso in 2103, EDF University has been mentioned on a regular basis in the professional press, including in the Financial Times, La Tribune and Les Echos. Between 1995 and 2002, David taught at Sciences Po and Ecole Normale Supérieure whilst completing a PhD Dissertation at OFCE-Sciences Po in Paris. From 2002 to 2007, David was a Visiting Professor at Sarah Lawrence College (NY) and Drew University (NJ), and then Professor of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University (NY). While at Columbia University, he also worked with the Center on Capitalism and Society, directed by Edmund Phelps, Nobel Prize winner in economics in 2006, with whom David has published several articles since 1999.

Federico joined the HR division in 2012 coming from a solid operational experience in the retail business. Coming from a family trading activity, he began his career in Carrefour Italy in 1998 in merchandise department. He moved to head quarters in France in 2000 and started his managerial path through merchandise international departments in various functions: from sourcing to purchasing, from brands and marketing to private labels, from non food to food department. Involved as leader in challenging transversal projects of managerial change, he developed a deep interest in people development and company transformation. He decided then to follow this passion joining the Group HR division in the Training department as program manager. He participated actively in the Corporate University launch and since 2014 he assumed the whole responsibility of the Learning Department for the Group. His expertise is focused in executive’s education and cultural transformation of organizations.

Roberta has been a Performance Management and Development Director at Emerson Network Power since December 2014. Thanks to a constant collaboration with the local business leaders she created a new model for facilitating the organization review, development plans for talent, appraisal systems, sales force effectiveness evaluation. In September 2010 Mrs. Gentile was requested to become a Director of Emerson Network Power Academy. The Academy is governed by a Council chaired by the President of Emerson Network Power Systems EMEA. The Council defines training priorities in line with the company’s strategy and the Academy’s policies as well as approving activities, targets, budgets and appoints the Technical Committee’s members. Roberta is also a Member of the “Training Evaluation Committee” of Regional Chamber of Commerce and a Member of “MBA Accreditation Awarding Commission” for Asfor (Italian Association for Management Development). As a member of the committee, she has the responsibility to decide whether or not to accredit an MBA path in Italy.

DR. PETER DERN

SVP Corporate University Software AG

Dr. Dern works as SVP of Corporate University at Software AG and in his role he reports directly to the board. As part of Software AG’s mergers and acquisitions SWAT team, he is responsible for seamless knowledge transfer, particularly into Software AG. In addition to this, he supervises the University Relations program, which collaborates with Universities worldwide and drives innovation by supporting startup companies. He is a member of the “European Association of Training Organisations” (EATO) and the “Corporate Academies” network initiated by Integrata AG.

Bertrand Rajon began his tenure at Nestlé 26 years ago in Athens, Greece in where he stayed for two years. He was then transferred to Hungary for the next 4 years, in charge of the Marketing Development and subsequently to Slovakia as Country Manager the turn of the millennium, at the time of major political change after the fall of the wall. From 2004 to 2008 he took the responsibility for Nestlé Switzerland’s Food Division in charge of leading products such as Nescafé, Nesquik, Maggi and Thomy. Today he is in charge of the Corporate Executive and Leadership Education for the Nestlé group at the International Training Centre in Vevey.

MICHAEL SALONE

Michael Salone is the co-founder and CEO of 3-6TY (“three-sixty),­an innovative partner in enterprise crowdsourcing. 3-6TY helps companies be “proud of the crowd” through their social recognition, peer-to-peer talent identification and learning solutions TagUp™ and 3-6TY Video™. Michael, American and French, began his career at Schlumberger, the world’s largest oilfield services corporation holding increasingly responsible HR positions in several subsidiaries in the U.S., England and France. In 1998, he joined Alstom’s Power Sector as Director of Management Development, and became Vice President Human Resources for Alstom’s International Network in 1999. In 2004 Michael was responsible for implementing the Learning & Development Competency Centre within Alstom’s Transport sector before becoming Vice President Management Development for the Group from 2004 to 2006. Later he was asked to create Alstom University to instill a learning culture and a community approach within the company. Seeing very early how collaboration would be a requirement for businesses to succeed in the new world of work, Michael implemented the Alstom Collaborative Way. In addition to being one of the few European based corporate universities ISO9001 certified, Alstom University also won awards for “Best New Corporate University” from CorpU Xchange and the French HR Innovation Award for its peer-to-peer video learning platform AUTube (Alstom University Tube). In 2011 Michael co-created 3-6TY with renowned author and expert in collective intelligence, Olivier Zara, and is currently completing a provocative book of his own about peer-to-peer talent identification and social recognition in the workplace. Michael currently lives in Malta.

SANDY WELCH

Learning Manager Europe GE

Sandy Welch is responsible for executing GE’s Corporate University Mission of Inspiring, connecting and developing the leaders of today and tomorrow. As a member of GE Crotonville, she supports the Learning Journey of 40,000 employees across GE’s 10 Business’ Organizations in Europe. Sandy has been an HR professional for 22 years. She has extensive experience in innovating and implementing HR strategies, cultural changes and transformational initiatives in multinational and intercultural environments. Her experience in EMEA, LATAM and the US includes companies such as GE, Citibank and Publicis Group during Mergers, Startups Organizational realignments and cultural transformations.

Dr. Martyn F. Rademakers is managing director of Center for Strategy & Leadership, an international consultancy specialised in learning-driven strategic change and innovation, based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. He is also adjunct professor of corporate strategy at the Amsterdam Business School, and visiting professor at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University Rotterdam. Martyn is an international expert and speaker in the field of corporate universities, with a focus on the interplay between strategy, leadership and organizational learning. As a practical academic (i.e., pracademic) he keeps track of trends and research relevant to strategic learning in organizations, and also writes on the topic. His book Corporate Universities: Drivers of the Learning Organization was published by Routledge in 2014, and received five-star ratings at Amazon. Martyn’s mission is to enhance the strategic impact of corporate universities in organizations for the benefit of all stakeholders.

GILBERT FONT

Head of Talents Head of Safran University Safran 64 years of age – Graduated from HEC (1973) and Sciences Po Paris (1975). In 1982, Gilbert joined the European Propulsion Enterprise. In 1990, he then assumed the position of Director of Planning and Accounts. He was later nominated as the Director of Finance. In 1999 he receives the nomination of Director of Financial Controls for Snecma Group. A year later, he becomes the Director of Accounts and Financial Controls. In 2000, Gilbert takes the position of Director of Finance and General Secretary of Snecma. In addition to these responsibilities, he takes the lead of the Department of Process Improvements in 2005. In 2006, he is nominated Commissioner General Manager of Sagem Defense Security later returning to Safran Headquarters. In 2007, as the Deputy Director of Economic and Financial Affairs until the appointment of his new functions. In 2010, he is appointed President of Safran Corporate University & training and development and in 2012 President of Talents Development. In its president’s responsibilities of Safran Corporate University & training and development is added the Direction of Executive and Talent Management of Safran Group.

Director Human Resources and Organization Development Schneider Electric Ron Bloemperk spent most of his career in Human Resources and Organization Development in the US and in Europe. He was educated at Harvard Business School and has experience in change, leadership development, behavioral economics and creating learning organizations. He’s passionate about sustainability, humanity and the necessary capabilities and learning to support life. During his career in various industries, he was at the forefront of building corporate universities, curriculum development and learning cultures. He’s currently working in the energy world with Schneider Electric where he’s focused on making a difference while building leadership practices, education and solutions toward great professionalism and citizenship that safeguard our planet.

Stephanie Zanon heads the Licensing division at StratX, a company that specializes in experiential learning in Marketing and Innovation, creating impactful learning by taking real-world challenges into the class. For the past 3 years, Stephanie has been responsible for driving simulation upgrades & new product developments to respond to a growing demand from the educational market, and for ensuring successful integration into top academic institutions and corporate university programs in 60+ countries. Prior to this position, Stephanie has taken part in the development and launch of e-learning solutions at StratX, and project managed the highly recognized L’Oréal e-Strat Challenge.
